  1. my friendswould say bo. not just because i wear jeans and boots all the time but i talk like him and i have the same hair only mine is longer (being a girl) I also have the same sparkleing blue eyes. and i must say i agree with my friends on that. but then i do fit pretty good in those daisy dukes i wear to school... but i can shoot my long bow better than bo duke. just like bo i am extremly outgoing and take what i want when i want it. i also am not afraid to ask a guy out but there are no cute guys in my school. except there will be. if you wanna find out what i mean look for my up coming post called bo duke look alikes. i found one out camping and one is moving across the street from me. (thank the dear lord.) and his name is bo. He lives by my cousin right now.
  2. Madi said. While Roscoe was turning, she cuffed his hands behind his back. “Ha-ha, let’s get.†Bo said. “Make tracks.†Madi said. Climbing in through the windows of her own car doors she raced off behind Bo. Then she radioed him. “Hey Bo, I’m sorry to say that I gotta go as soon as we reach the sweet-water line.†Madi said over the C.B. “Why are you leaving?†Bo asked. “I was just passin’ through. I’m on my way to Nashville to try out for this record deal somebody offered me.†Madi said. “I thought we were meant for each other?†Bo asked. “And I know that we were made for each other. But I also know that I was made to go to Nashville and sing for my living. I’m sorry.†“I love you very much. And your voice melts over my heart like butter every time you sing.†Bo said. “I love you more than all the stars in the sky and all the people on the planet, but I have to do this. There’s the county line I’m sorry Bo, if you’re ever in Nashville look me up. My number is 214-798.†Bo sat at the county line and watched the little black road-runner with the neon green pin striping melt into the scenery. “Good bye beautiful.†Madi said. Madi drove her car watching the General melt away into the horizon through the rear view mirror. “Good by Bo.†Madi said as she began to cry but she kept driving towards Nashville at her chance of a lifetime.
  3. Bo was at it again there he was. In the General, chasing yet another woman. It was raining that day and the roads were slick. But Bo didn’t mind the rain even though it was coming through the window of the General. Luke was out of town in Chickasaw for a car show that Bo decided to skip so he was alone for the weekend. Bo would get close to her bumper and she would speed ahead of him. Bo kept right at it until they got to the Boars Nest where they both turned off. When she climbed out of the car he realized she wasn’t from Hazzard. She was a beautiful blue-eyed, blonde, bombshell. She was about Luke’s height with football player shoulders and a body full of magnificent curves and a face full of hypnotizing features. He decided to go for it no matter what it took he wanted to make her his girlfriend. He hopped in front of her to open the door leading inside. “Thank ya darlin.†She said, she had the thickest southern accent he had ever heard. “You’re welcome friend.†Bo said. “What’s your name?†She asked Bo. “My names Beauregard, but please call me Bo.†Bo said. “My name is Madison but call me Madi.†Madi said. “Oh by the way, it’s karaoke night. You look like someone with a nice singing voice. I would like it if you would sing somethin.†Bo said, putting a hand on her shoulder. “I just might sing for you. Only if you promise to get up there and sing with me after I sing you a song.†Madi said. “I promise. What’re ya’ gonna sing first?†Bo asked. “You’ll see†Madi said as she walked up the stage, Bo took a seat in the first row as she began to sing. “Lead guitar? Give me the song “I walk the line†by Johnny Cash.†Madi said, re- adjusting the microphone to her height. Her voice melted over Bo’s heart like butter at the 100 degree mark. When she sang she sounded like a bird and looked hotter than a two dollar pistol, with a voice like Donna Fargo. “I keep a close watch on this heart of mine I keep my eyes wide open all the time I keep the ends out for the tie that binds Because you're mine, I walk the line†I find it very, very easy to be true I find myself alone when each day's through Yes, I'll admit that I'm a fool for you Because you're mine, I walk the line As sure as night is dark and day is light I keep you on my mind both day and night And happiness I've known proves that it's right Because you're mine, I walk the line You've got a way to keep me on your side You give me cause for love that I can't hide For you I know I'd even try to turn the tide Because you're mine, I walk the line I keep a close watch on this heart of mine I keep my eyes wide open all the time I keep the ends out for the tie that binds Because you're mine, I walk the line†When she was finished she stood in the shocked silence. Suddenly, Bo started to clap and everyone else followed suit whooping and cheering out for an encore. “Okay, Okay, settle down. I am now goin to sing a duet with a certain man that promised me a duet. Hazzard County’s own Beauregard or, Bo Duke!†Madi said, a wide smile spreading across her full featured face. When she smiled she had a great set of teeth, Bo smiled back but felt stupid. “And we’re gonna sing ‘Like we never loved At all.†Madi said. “You never looked as good as you did last night, underneath the city lights. There walking with your friend, laughing at the moon. I swear you looked right through me. But I'm still living with your goodbye, and you're just going on with your life.†Madi sang, looking at Bo. “How can you just walk on by without one tear in your eye? Don't you have the slightest feelings left for me? Maybe that's just your way of dealing with the pain, forgetting everything between our rise and fall, like we never loved at all.†They both sang together. “I hear you're doing fine; Seems like you're doing well, As far as I can tell. Time, is leaving us behind, another week has passed, and still I haven't laughed yet. So tell me, what your secret is, baby To letting go, letting go like you did, like you did.†Bo sang, looking into Madi’s eyes with an evident love. “How can you just walk on by without one tear in your eye? Don't you have the slightest feelings left for me? Maybe that's just your way of dealing with the pain, forgetting everything between our rise and fall, like we never loved at all.†They both sang again. “Did you forget the magic?†Bo sang. â€Did you forget the passion?†Madi sang back. †And did you ever miss me?†Bo sang to her. â€Ever long to kiss me?†Madi sang at him the two were getting closer together. “Maybe that's just your way of dealing with the pain, forgetting everything between our rise and fall, like we never loved at all†Madi and Bo sang as they ended the song with a very romantic and passionate kiss.†The crowd was shocked yet again, and Enos broke the silence, with cheering and clapping for more just like before. “I don’t think –“Madi got cut off by another unexpected kiss from Bo that she didn’t refuse. She knew that there was a love between the two of them that was not just a summer or a short time deal that they really loved each other. This kiss wasn’t just another attempt to make her his it was real. It had passion, love, romance, tongue, (lots and lots of tongue!) So there they were, on stage, making out, in front of all of Hazzard County and they didn’t even care. Every one saw. “Okay, maybe one more. Whatcha say Bo?†Madi asked, pleading with her eyes for him to say yes. “Why not. What’re we gonna sing?†Bo asked. “We’re gonna sing Whiskey Lullaby.†“She put him out like the burning end of a midnight cigarette. She broke his heart: He spent his whole life trying to forget. We watched him drink his pain away, a little at a time, but he never could get drunk enough to get her off his mind, until the night: He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger. And finally drank away her memory. Life is short, but this time it was bigger, than the strength he had to get up off his knees. We found him with his face down in the pillow, With a note that said: "I'll love her till I die." Bo sang, staring into her eyes again with the same love. â€And when we buried him beneath the willow, the angels sang a whiskey lullaby. “They both sang this line. â€La la la la la la la La la la la la la la. La la la la la la la, La la la la la la laâ€. Then they sang together again “The room was full but nobody knew how much she blamed herself. For years and years, she tried to hide the whiskey on her breath. She finally drank her pain away, a little at a time, But she never could get drunk enough to get him off her mind. Until the night: She put that bottle to her head and pulled the trigger. And finally drank away his memory. Life is short, but this time it was bigger, than the strength she had to get up off her knees. We found her with her face down in the pillow, clinging to his picture for dear life. We laid her next to him beneath the willow, while the angels sang a whiskey lullaby. â€La la la la la la la La la la la la la la. La la la la la la la, La la la la la la la. La la la la la la la La la la la la la la. La la la la la la la, La la la la la la la.†They said finishing the song. And kissed again. This time they stood there and kissed for a little bit then, Bo picked her up and carried her outside then sat her down on the hood of the General Lee. “Ooooohhhhhh, challenger orange, confederate flag, start er up I want to heart the motor.†Bo did as she said. When the engine started, she just sat there and said, “That reminds me of when I get out my racing car out. But no doubt yours has a lot bigger engine.†Madi said. Bo flipped the engine off and they went back to kissing, then something made Bo stop, “I love you Madi.†Bo said. “I love you to Bo. I can tell you’re different than everyone else. I’ve never sang with someone and fallen in love, I’ve never been in love before, except for a few race car drivers and I only dated a few of them.†Madi said. After that sat and stared at each other and they got closer with every breath they took. “So, Bo how old are you. I’m 21 today.†Bo said. “Today is your birth-day? And you ain’t out celabratin’?†“No, but now I am legally old enough to drink. But I won’t.†“Well I’m 21 also but I turned 21, two days ago.†“We’re only two days apart. You’re the man the fortune teller told me about when she read my palm. She said we would meet at an unexpected time and place, she also said we would have no children and you would have a fast car with orange paint. She also said we would get into some trouble soon after we met with a guy named Roscoe.†“That’s the sheriff and lord wouldn’t you know it, here he comes. Get ready to witness some major stupidity.†“All right, all right I gotcha. Freeeaze.†Roscoe said. “What now Roscoe?†Bo asked. “I gotcha for making out in public, and your car has a broken tail-light Bo Duke.†Roscoe said. “I’ll make a scene.†Madi said. “Now Bo will you and your nice girl-friend get in my patrol car before I gotta sick Flash on ya’?†Roscoe asked. “Bo’s girlfriend you thought for one minute that I was dating such scum? For your information we’re not. He paid me twenty crisp one dollar bills to make out with him.†“You two are still goin to jail.†Roscoe said. “Now put your hands up so I can cuff you and stuff you.†“Wow, those are some nice hand-cuffs you got there. Can I see em?†Madi asked. “Sure, but don’t scuff um none, ya’ hear?†Roscoe asked. “I sure do. Hey could you lift up your arms and turn in a circle so I can see all of the stuff on your belt. Oh and I want to see the siren and the lights

  5. Bo and Luke were chasing down the criminals who had really committed the crime they were framed for. Bo finally ran the car off an embankment tumbling over several trees as they went down the hill. The boy’s jumped out of the general without thinking they started to fight with the two men. Everything seemed to go quiet well and then the sound of a single gunshot echoed through the trees. Luke felt a chill run through his body and he glanced over at where Bo had been fighting with the other guy. Bo was lying on the ground, clutching his chest, as blood steadily streamed through his fingers. “BO!†Luke screamed, pulling away from the man he had been fighting and rushing to Bo’s side. The bad guys quickly took off running through the woods to escape. “Bo . . .†Luke said looking down at his cousin. “Just hold on Bo . . . you gotta be okay.†Luke said, peeling of his jacket and pressing it tightly against the wound. “What happened, Luke?†Madi asked shocked. Luke hung his head down and closed his eyes allowing his tears to fall freely, placing his head on Madi's shoulder. “Where’d you come from?†Luke asked. “I saw the General on the side of the road and then I started off again but then I heard the gun shot.†Madi said. “It’s gonna be just fine.†Madi said soothingly. “Bo, how many fingers am I holding up,†Madi asked. “3†Bo managed to say. “Madi?†Bo added obviously in pain. “Yeah Bo?†She said already trying on removing the bullet. “I love you more than any girl ever. Nobody in this whole entire planet could replace you if they tried. I mean it. I hold you as dear as I hold Luke and Daisy.†Bo said. “You’ll make it. Trust me. I never loved anyone, not even my own blood and flesh family much as I love you this very day.†Madi said making a larger incision in his chest for the tweezers to grab the bullet. After almost fifteen minutes of complete silence; “I got it!†She said calmly. “We can use this as evidence to testify against them crooks in court. ============================================================= “Did you fine young men catch them Dukes?†Boss asked, almost drooling over the plate of hog jowls sitting in front of him. “Not exactly Boss, sir.†The first man said pathetically. “Then you caught one of them Duke Boys?†Boss said getting quite irritated. “We’re wanted men as soon as them Dukes report that Blondie’s been shot. And I know the girl that was with em!†the second man shouted. “You shot Bo Duke! That’s a 3rd degree felony you dipsticks!†Boss said completely forgetting the hog jowls on the plate in front of him. “Don’t worry yet. We’ll get off easy.†The first man said calmly. “Worry! You just shot a man, and you’re tellin me not to worry!†Boss Shouted at the two criminals. “Relax! Blondie’s alive, I honestly don’t know for how long but two people came rushing to his side.†The second man said calmly. “Good! Now excuse me. There are hog jowls to be devoured.†Boss said pointing to the exit door. ============================================================== “Bo, Bo, wake up, Bo, honeybee, wake up.†Madi said sweetly. “What? It’s too early to wake up.†Bo mumbled, opening his eyes. “Bo, you’re lucky to be alive.†Madi said to him, covered in blood up to her elbows, changing clothes right in front of him. “Where am I, honey?†Bo asked. “You’re at the Capital City hospital. The doctors are filling your prescription and Uncle Jesse’s on his way to pick us up and get the General towed back to Hazzard for Cooter to take a look. I’m just glad you’re okay and Luke too.†Madi said. “What happened to Luke?†Bo asked. “He fell down the hill we were walking up and broke his leg, fractured his ankle, and cracked five ribs. The doctors said he passed out from traumatic stress.†“Lord, sounds like he got it worse than me.†Bo said staring off into space. Luke had been there for him his entire life and always “caught him when he fell.†Only this time it was kind of Luke’s fault he had been shot. Anger ripped through Bo’s mind like he and Luke used to do on Hazzard mornings together. He suddenly blamed Luke for everything bad that had happened to him. “This is all Luke's fault. He’s the reason I got shot!†Bo said angrily. “Bo, what’s gotten into you? Earlier, you said it yourself that it wasn’t Luke’s fault if you died.†Madi said. “I don’t care what I said. It was his fault and you know it.†Bo said now full of anger. “OWWW!†Bo shouted. “What happened, Bo?†Madi said pulling her shirt completely on and rushing to his side. “Damn it! I think I may have fallen on a rock.†Bo said still very angry. “It feels like there’s a bruise. Take off your t-shirt and let me see.†Madi said. “What the heck are you doin? I thought we were checking for bruises not hugging.†Bo said hugging her back anyways. “I was so afraid.†Madi said pushing herself up against Bo even further. “What were you so afraid of?†Bo asked. “I was afraid you wasn’t gonna make it out. I just love you and your kinfolk so much; I couldn’t live with myself everyday knowin well enough that I could have saved you. Momma always said I was straight forward.†Madi said not letting go of Bo “You know what, I’ve been waitin the moment I met you to do this.†Bo said digging in his pants pocket. “What are you talkin bout?†Madi said taking her head off his shoulder to look him in the eyes. “You’re gonna have to let go for me to do this.†Bo said. “I’m afraid I might lose you for good this time.†She said, returning the smile that Bo flashed at her. “Then I guess I can’t get down on one knee to do this, so give me your hand.†Bo said holding a ring box. “Bo, are you planin to do what I think you are?†Madi asked. “Madi Lillibridge, no other woman in my life, has been able to love me even half of the way or-, what I’m trying to say is, will you marry me?†Bo asked. “Bo, Yes, Absolutely, Definitely, Positively, Yes.†Madi said. “This was my mothers.†Bo said. “Oh Bo, it’s beautiful. I love it. The blue stone in it reminds me of your eyes.†Madi said. Soon after the phone rang. “Who was it?†Bo asked. “It was Uncle Jesse. He said to check into a hotel. He won’t be here for another four days at least.†Madi said. “You could have the General’s front suspension fixed in half that.†Bo complained. “Well, it sure will give us time to plan a wedding. Don’t ya think?†Madi said, giggling at the end. “Sure will.†Bo said. After all that shooting, proposing, and violating his probation all at the same time; Bo was surprisingly enough still happy. ============================================================== “So what are we gonna do now?†asked the first man. “I don’t rightly know, but if them boys testify against us in a court of law, the bullet is all they need to testify.†Said the second man. “They got our car, the fingerprints on the steering wheel, and all that money from that armed car that we robbed for that Boss Hogg fella.†“I knew that girl that was with them boys.†The second man said not even listening to what the first one had said. “How do you know her?†the first one asked. “I wouldn’t have even got the gun out if I knew it would have hurt her so dang bad. I can’t live with myself.†He said. “Who was she?†the first man asked still being ignored. “Do you really want to know?†the second man asked. “YES!†he shouted. “She, is, my ex- girlfriend .†The second man said. “And the blonde dude was her boyfriend, and I shot him. She’s gonna hate me for this.†the second one replied. ============================================================== 6 months later.......... “Bo, I don’t know exactly how to tell you this. It’s not somthin I’m proud of either. Luke?†“Yeah Madi?†Luke asked. “Could you excuse us for a moment?†Madi asked. “Sure thing. Long as ya’ll ain’t keepin nothin from me, or the rest of us.†Luke said. “Yeah, we Dukes tell each other everythin eventually.†Bo said. “I know who shot you.†She said. “What? And you didn’t alert proper authorities?†Bo yelled. “I ain’t proud of the thing he did cause, he’s my brother.†She said quietly. “And when did you plan on tellin me?†Bo asked. “I filed a claim and there’s gonna be a trial on the 23 of June.†Madi said, “So, how bout we have some fun?†Madi asked. “What kind of fun exactly?†Bo asked, obviously quite curious. “The kind of fun where...â€Madi began out loud then toned it down to a whisper in his ear. “Oh, that kind of fun.†Bo said happy as can be. “Yeah, that kind of fun.†Madi said. That night in Madi and Bo’s bedroom... “Bo?†Madi said. “Yeah Madi?†Bo replied. “Hold me.†She said. “What in heavens name.†Bo said. “I love you and I want you to know it. So hold me, kiss me, which ever.†“I feel bad.†Bo said. “About what?†Madi asked. “That we made love in Uncle Jesse’s house with Luke right across the room? I don’t feel bad.†She said laughing. “Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!†they heard the scream from down the hall where Daisy’s room was. “Let’s go check it out.†Madi said. “Luke, let’s go see what daisy was screamin bout. Funny, Luke ain’t in his bed.†“Where could he possibly be?†Madi asked. “Well considering that it’s 11:00 at night, he’s probably in the bathroom.†Bo said. Madi gave Bo a strange look and said, “And how do you know this?†“Hey, when you share a room with someone since you were three you learn they’re routine. Sides, we’re just like brothers.†Bo said pulling her out the door. “Lukas K. Duke, you get out of here right now!†Daisy said, beating Luke on the head with a pillow. “Cut it out! Hey cut it out! This idea was yours in the first place.†Luke said irritated. “Yeah it was my idea. But admit it! You wanted to sleep with me as much as I wanted to sleep with you. And yeah I did agree to make love with you.†Daisy shouted, still hitting him over the head with the pillow. “What’s goin’ on in here?!†Jesse shouted, holding his shot gun. “You two slept together?!†Bo and Madi shouted at them with an odd look on their faces. “We did. We was both drunk andâ€.... Luke said, getting cut off by Uncle Jesse. “Ya ain’t sposed to drinking so much that you get drunk. It just ain’t the Duke way. Bo, Madi, you two just go right back on to bed. I need to talk to Luke and Daisy alone.†“But...†Luke said. “This is all your fault Luke!†Daisy shouted at Luke. “But I love ya ta pieces.†Daisy said forcing her and Luke’s heads together so their lips touched. “Now stop it you two! Can’t ya see you’re bein’ disciplined?!†Too bad for Uncle Jesse, those two aren’t even paying attention. The locked lips of Daisy and Luke stayed locked for a good 5 minutes. ====================================================== The next morning, Madi awakens to find that Luke’s bags are packed outside. “What happened?†Madi asked Luke. They did this every morning. Madi would make coffee for them both (seeing as they were the only two at the farm that ever drank it), then they would sit around and talk until the others woke up, which was usually about three to four hours at least. Seeing as they both woke up at five or earlier. Lately there had been a difference in the way their conversations were started, how they lasted, and how they usually ended: Make-out sessions. The first session was the best five hours of her entire life. Today Luke looked like he needed a massage more than ever before. Madi silently walked up to Luke, and started to massage Luke’s back, neck, any where the boxers didn’t cover and eventually some that they did cover up. Suddenly, unexpectedly, Luke turned around with eyes that were puffy like he had been crying. “Hon, what happened?†Madi said, running her fingers through his wavy black hair. “Huh,†Luke laughed, “Fore I tell ya, ya gotta promise me somthin.†“Anything.†Madi said. “Anything?†Luke asked. “Absolutely anything at all.†Madi said. “First, you gotta promise, that you’ll keep an eye on Bo for me.†He said “I promise.†She said. “Next, you gotta promise to visit me in town.†he said. “You’re movin’ out?†Madi asked. “Yeah, Uncle Jesse and I thought it best I moved out and never come back.†Luke said. “I’ll miss you. A lot. A real, hole, lot.†Madi said. “You still got somthin to come back to the farm for every day, unlike me.†“That ain’t true and you know it. You got me to come back to.†Madi said defensively. “You and Bo were so happy together what happened?†Luke asked looking quite puzzled. “You happened.†Madi said. “So you’re planin on dumping your fiancé for me, your fiancé’s cousin?†Luke asked. “That’s what I planned.†Madi said. “Okay.†Luke said. They both sat in silence while Madi massaged Luke’s back and everywhere else she could fit them. Which was every part of his body and she didn’t miss an inch of skin. “Luke, you got me to thinking.†Madi said. “Bout what exactly?†Luke asked. “Bout dumping Bo.†Madi said “Dump me. He’s never met his parents, all the girls he dates besides you just use him to wipe their hands on, and he don’t think fore he speaks neither.†Luke said. “But, you’re more sensitive than Bo.†Madi said. “That ain’t true.†Luke said. “Yes it is.†Madi said giggling when Luke tickled her. Then the moment came that the two of them had feared the entire time they had been cheating with each other: Bo found out. “Luke, Madi, what on earth are you doin?†Bo said. “Bo? It ain’t what ya think.†Madi said, pulling her head away from Luke's head to break apart the kiss they were engaged in until Bo interrupted. “Oh? Well I do believe that it is my oldest cousin and my fiancé making out on my Uncle Jesse’s front porch. Well, that sure puts the butter on your biscuits.†Bo said in anger. “I’m sorry Bo. I never meant to hurt you this way. I’m so sorry.†Madi said. “Sorry enough to let me and Luke settle this like men?†Bo asked. “Bo, what the hell are you talkin bout?†Luke asked backing up from Bo cautiously. “I’m talkin bout havin ourselves a little contest right here and now.†“There ain’t gonna be no fights. Bo, settle down. You just got out of physical therapy.†“I’m movin out anyway Bo. We don’t need to fight bout this none.†“I still ain’t convinced.†Bo said. “I can’t take it. I hate long good-byes more than never bein able to come back.†Luke said walking off of the porch into the house. When he came back out, he was dressed and had Uncle Jesse with him. “Well, I’m gonna drive Luke to the capital city airport and get him on his plane to go to Missouri. Then you two,†Uncle Jesse said pointing at Madi and Bo, “You two are gonna drive up in the moving van I rented for him and meet him at his new apartment to help him get set up. I want him outta Hazzard fore Daisy wakes.†Jesse said while Luke put his bags in the back of the old pick up truck. “Uh, Bo, Uncle Jesse? You think you could leave me to say goodbye to Luke?†“Sure, come on Bo. There’s plenty of stuff to start putting in the van.†“Luke, I want you to have this.†Madi said slipping him an arrow head. “It’s a rock?†Luke asked. “It’s an arrow head. Every time you miss me you rub the arrow head and it gets warm. I also have one. When you rub yours, mine will become warm as well. This will connect us mentally in our dreams. And never forget, I’ll always be with you.†she said, planting a big kiss on his lips. Luke could see the tears welling up in her eyes as she turned to go. But instead of going inside, she ran into his now open arms and practically cried her eyes out on his shoulder. Then Luke gently stroked her head and allowed his tears to flow freely as well. “It’s okay. Shhh, it’s all gonna be just fine. I’ll be back on the holidays†Luke said. “I’m over reacting. You have the right to cry, unlike me, I don’t have to forcibly leave every thing and everyone I’ve ever known or loved.†She said, pushing away from his hug to kiss him. As Bo and Jesse came out with more of the suitcases, Madi and Luke stopped hugging and kissing. When they saw them, Madi ran from the truck to the barn. “Well, looks like you got a nice farewell kiss there Luke.†Jesse said pointing at Luke's fore head and laughing. “Well, I wouldn’t be surprised.†Bo said with a nasty tone to his voice. “Bo, stop bein that way.†Uncle Jesse said. “Well you should have seen them two earlier. They were makin out right on your very front porch. Lord only knows what went on before we knew.†Bo said. “I ain’t gonna believe Madi did that to you with your own cousin without proof.†“Well hold on one minute. Madi get over here.†Bo shouted. “Madi, Bo has this crazy idea that you kissed Luke and possibly made love before he caught ya’ll this mornin. Is it true?†Uncle Jesse said. Madi didn’t answer, she just stood there leaning on the tail gate looking at her clear high heals. Almost looking through them. “Well, we’re all waitin for an answer. Yes or No?†Jesse prodded, getting itchier by the second. Tapping his foot on the ground impatiently. “Yes.†Madi said, barely even whispering. “What did you say?†Uncle Jesse said. “I said yes, I did make love with Luke. It was an accident, at first then, it became a habit. We not only had coffee together in the morning we would make love and I would sit on his lap and we would read the paper together and then sometimes we would just talk about things. Then all the fun ended.†Madi said. “When we found out right?†Bo asked the nasty sounding tone still in his voice. “NO!!!!!!†She yelled. “We stopped making love, because the last time I made love with you Bo, I got pregnant. That’s why I went to the doctor six months ago. I wanted to wait to tell you when I found out, but then the shooting.....†Madi trailed off. “I see. Well it probably is best that Luke leaves.†Jesse said. “I can’t say I’m sad to see him go without lying.†Bo said coldly, hugging Madi as the truck with Luke and Jesse pulled out of the drive way. “I am.†Madi said. “I love you, Madi. And I don’t know what I would ever do without you. So you gotta promise me somthin real, real important.†Bo said. “What’s that?†Madi asked. “That you won’t cheat on me again. Can you promise me that?†Bo asked. “Yes I can sugar.†Madi said. Then a smile quickly spread across Madi’s face when she grabbed Bo’s hand and started to walk so fast she nearly pulled Bo to the ground. Up the stairs, to the hallway, around the corner, past Daisy’s room, open the door to their own room; Shut the blinds, turned on the radio, and laid there and kissed. “Madi,â€Bo said in a desperate gasp for air as Madi slowly undid the buttons of his shirt and kissed him on the lips like it was the first time. “Hmmm?†Madi said, as if asking him to repeat the question. “This is wonderful.†He said. “I love you Bo, honey, sweetie, baby.†“What’s with all the pet-names that I don’t normally love?†Bo asked. Madi just ignored him and kept on kissing him. “Oh, yeah. I got a letter from my cousin in Missouri.†Madi said. “She says that she wanted to come down here for the summer.†“That’s nice. She can have Luke’s bed.†Bo said “Not a good idea.†Madi said. “Why not?†Bo asked “She hasn’t had the little talk yet.†Madi said. “Oh, maybe not then.†Bo responded. “Besides I told her that wouldn’t work at all.†Madi said. “Well, why not. We haven’t got to meet a single member of you’re family.†Bo asked. “My family is too weird to have around ya’ll.†Madi said. “What’s that sposed to mean?†Bo said. “Ya’ll are so nice and my family, most of them are mean and ornery.†Madi said. “We got a few people in our family like that.†Bo said. “Not like this.†Madi said. “Okay.†Bo said. “By the way Bo, we need to figure out who’s does gonna complete our marriage.†“And we gotta have Roscoe run our marriage license’s through the system.†Bo said. “Yeah, and we gotta find a church and we gotta get out invitations.†Madi said. “Gosh this is an awful lot of work.†Bo replied. “Well we can worry ‘bout all of that later.†Madi said, “We got different things to worry bout right now.†Madi smiled at Bo getting a strong reply, “Baby, I love you more than words can say.†Bo said smiling back at her. __________________________________________________________________ The same day in Missouri... “Well, Mr. Duke, do you think you’ll like this apartment?†the land lord asked. “Well, I guess it’ll have to do ‘till they all forgive and forget what wrongs I done with my cousin, and my cousin Bo’s wife.†Luke said. “Ah.
