  2. Dukefan1,

Hang in there it'll happen with patience & persistence oh & mostly luck. I am sure peopl ehave the wildest stories on just how they located their Charger. Just start a thread & ask & I'm sure you'll be amazed at some of them.

    Dukefan,

You & I are right at he same age almost & I JUST decided to make a General. I helped friends make'em & drove in them never really lettin on just how much fun I was having because he was buying, makin & sellin them. I have had at least one Charger at all times in my life since 1984 & in fact still have my 1st Charger to this day in addition to my General. So so glad I never sold it. Like I said b4 to try & get back in now is alot more difficult moneywise now then it used to be.

You also need to Google that Darrewn guy you mentioned. Just type his full name in there & if that dosent work try Facebook.com & then any otyher means of trying to locate him because that sounds like a sweet deal he offered ya. KEEP US POSTED both of ya. & as always Best of Luck!!!!!!!!!

  3. Yeah the Boar's Nest was turned into a chapel but its not used for that anymore....rumor has it our favourite, tender hearted Duke boy seen above is planning on buying it and restoring it to former glory...just rumour of course...what really saddened me is the state of the Duke Farm now...its so unbelievably sad.

BoJames LOL I actually pulled the pic back & cropped the crud out of it LOL.....For those in the know you can imagine who it was!

I seriously doubt he got it because the steeple was JUST added recently but from waht I have heard I wouldnt put it past him.

Yes the farmhouse is barely standing, rumors floated round it too was going to be restored but that turned out to be false. It is in sad sad shape for sure!

  4. I feel bad for you guys because ......well I see dukefan is 23 & I'm not sure about dukefan1 but thinking around the samne age?

If not I'm sorry for my guessin BUT the reason I feel bad is because.....GONE! are the days of finding & buying these cars for $300 to $800 still runnin in backyards.

I grabbed mine for $1500.00 runnin but ugly & I thought at the time that-that was high! I look back & say to my self thank goodness I bought it.

I payed the guy in payments because I had other obligations at the time but had BIG plans with this car (as you all seen lol). However the car sat at my Moms house for almost 10 years b4 I did ANYTHING 2 it at all.

People would stop all the time to try & buy it & Mom used to say, "my son is going to re-do it".

I am sure they all walked away saying, "Yea Sure he is lady".

OK back on track. There is one sittin near me but I have not stopped to try & get it for my son because I am going to go there with $$$$ in hand & ask & show the cash hoping this gives me some upper hand or something?

Dunno if thats gonbna work but thats one option for the guy you know near you or sometimes people want to hear that you are going to restore it to its original glory and would be glad to stop back with it to show them & allow them to be a part of it. I know it sounds weird but people have attachments with some of these cars, so try that?

All in all its so hard anymore to find'em cheap or in rough shape anymore & man do I miss those days!

GOOD LUCK GUYS & I mean that!

  5. I saw them reply about your headlights being dim, could be a bad ground.

It may be but beside the headlights dukefan1 I have a radio that cuts out when the RPM's get to high & a studder start meaning I go to start the car & I get nuttin but then I (GET THIS) I wiggle the drivers seat & bam it starts so I got a short there somehow too. I think the guy who installed the headliner shorted out my interior light or maybe its Gremlins?

Im in NJ so its cold now & the car is sittin in the garage. I have been collecting parts to put in/on it & this far I have sittin here awaiting application:

    an aluminum radiator

    rear bumperettes

    engine wiring harness

    forward light harness

    headlights

    new door locks

    new side view mirror

more dynomat for the doors & trunk area

& I'm sure theres more but when I do I will be sure to post more pix

  6. Hey Tombo, I just spent the last 25 minutes looking at every single picture from the very first to the very end. I haven't been on in months, but this past 25 minutes were the best time I ever did spend.

Once I passed my last comment I post to your thread, I was in awwww, on how much work there was to restoring a '69 charger into your own general lee, and I was thinking, OMG, if I want to do this, I have a lot of steps to follow, still want to do it?

Then I thought, hell yes, don't care how long it takes, I still want to make my own General Lee, just as soon as I can fund it.

I can't thank you enough, or praise the work you have put into making this General Lee of yours and sharing your steps with us, I was like a kid who was over thrilled and pumping with excitement as I viewed each step carefully.

This was so incredible to me, so very incredible, thank you again for sharing your love for building your very own General Lee, awesome works!!!!

Wow I mean well WOW thats so very cool to hear that you or anyone else would take the time to view all the shots & steps & process from A-Z like that. I loved doing it & I have to be honest I am no done yet but honestly I am kinda sad it's mostly over ya know? Weird I know but true.

The car is a BLAST 100% to take out. I find myself looking at the weather and whenever its lookin good Away I GO! lol.

I will see if I can get the onemedia.com montage I did up on here somehow. I has no words but music & it goes through the pictures for you.

Again Dukefan thanks for the praise it's most welcomed!

    Tom

  7. It looks like them Duke boys done left Hazzard County and took themselves a little trip up north. All I can say is that when they come out of that there fancy building and see that yankee celebrating after stomping on their confederate flag, they're going to be ready for a fight.

Roger I know it sure does look like he is on the roof LOL!

In this one it looks like the Phanatic is lookin down on the car too look!
