EvilErnie13 replied to dukesran1's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Movies
You know, I always thought a younger cast would be good for the Dukes franchise. I had an idea about how after Uncle Jessie died Bo, Luke, and Daisy went off in other directions. It happened in the TV-movies and they all come back to Hazzard for one reason or another. Anyway, why not have some other Dukes take over the farm and run it. Luke had a brother, Cooter had a daughter, there were other Duke cousins; why couldn't there be other Dukes to take over the farm? It could all be set in modern day Hazzard with a new sheriff, deputies, and a new county commissioner. This show would be ripe with possibilities. The only hitch is a new General, but with the stream of neo-muscle cars coming out there shouldn't be a problem picking one... Challenger seems like a nice Dodge fit since the new Charger is a suburban family car! Heck, the original General can be brought out when John and Tom do cameos! Forget doing a direct to DVD prequel! Relaunch the TV series for 2007! -
Check out the spine, brotha!

God, I love that pic!

I've only seen it once, but I want to see it again because I want to watch it without feeling like my childhood has been ripped away from me for a lousy $8. I want to know if my feelings for the movie will be the same the second time around. GOD! I HATED THIS MOVIE!!!

NEW YORK (AP) -- Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott, who play Luke and Bo Duke in "The Dukes of Hazzard," didn't exactly perfect the art of "yee-haw" for the film. In the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine, Knoxville says he felt like "half a man" when he heard John Schneider, who played Bo Duke on the '70s TV series, do the rebel yell. "John Schneider comes up to us last night at the premiere. He's giving us these big hugs, and he goes, 'Let's do a yee-haw!' And he belts out this Tarzan-like 'yee-haw,' and I was like, 'That's kinda how we were supposed to do it, Seann."' Knoxville plays Luke Duke, and Scott plays cousin Bo. Jessica Simpson is denim short shorts-wearing cousin Daisy Duke, Catherine Bach's role in the TV series, which ran from 1979-1985. Ben Jones, who played wisecracking mechanic Cooter on the popular series, has called the movie -- which took in an estimated $30.7 million on its opening weekend -- a "sleazy insult." "Every place we went to -- we did all this regional press, and city by city, they'd all talked to Ben Jones. He's got a hellava publicist," Knoxville says. As for the plot, Scott says: "Plot? What plot? Plot's just an excuse to blow (expletive) up and see Jessica in her shorts! You don't want a plot with 'Dukes of Hazzard.' (Pause.) It could've been nice to have one."

28, male, and I hated the movie. It was great to see the General on screen, but it was too boring and really not funny. I saw all these gag's before in funnier movies and there was better stunt work on the TV show. I did LOVE the soundtrack to the movie. It's too bad they didn't have more music that was in the movie on the soundtrack! This might have been a good movie if the title wasn't THE DUKES OF HAZZARD, but it wasn't. I'll enjoy the TV show on DVD and will not be buying the movie on DVD.

I didn't see a number 1 question, but I will do the best I can... 2. The new movie explains why Bo and Luke enter the General Lee by its windows. What is the explanation? Cooter didn't have time to fix the doors from when the General was demolished by the construction workers. 3. Where is the moonshine still kept? In a secret room behind the shower wall. 4. What famous comedian makes a cameo appearance in the bloopers? Rip Taylor 5. Who sings the “Good ‘Ol Boys†in the movie? Waylon Jennings (in the begining) and Willie Nelson (at the end) 6. What song does Jessica Simpson sing on the movie soundtrack? THESE BOOTS ARE MADE FOR WALKING 7. Name one special characteristic of the General Lee. The General has a Dixie Horn. One of the differences between the movie version of the General and the TV version is the steering wheel. 8. Where was a good portion of the recent Duke’s of Hazzard movie filmed? Baton Rouge Louisiana 9. What ‘wonder’ful woman stars in the movie? Lynda Carter 10. Who drives the General Lee? Bo Duke BONUS: (Correct bonus answer gets you an extra ballot in the draw for the top three prizes) In the movie, there is a continuity issue with Boss Hogg’s character. Name the issue. Boss Hogg's beard is shorter in the courtroom scene due to reshoots. There you have it!

I got a question... What it like to be a jerk off artist to sell a jacket for $1000? -

Nothing will change! This movie is geared toward teenage boys or men with teenage boy's minds. That's a demographic they are shooting for. That's were most of your money will be found with a movie about car chases and action. It's basic money making sense. It's too bad that's all they see... the demographic and not what this show is really about. The Dukes of Hazzard is just a movie vehicle to shell out bad plots for big money with a product we all recognize. I feel bad for evryone connected to this movie; fans, producers, actors, etc. I am truely sorry for all of us.
