I think there were 2 other places on the outskirts of the county where you could get gas. If anybody is interested I could look that up in my notebook.

Here's one that I only noticed from watching the HD version of the show. In the flashback scenes from 'Happy Birthday, General Lee', the black Charger already had the CNH 320 license plate when Bo and Luke bought the car from the Capitol City junkyard. In 'Big Daddy', Rosco mentions to Boss Hogg that it takes 30 days to get a new plate from the DMV. That means that the original version of the CNH 320 plate that you see here must have been a Capitol City plate. In the screencap, it seems to have two words in the city/county area that are slightly too narrow to be 'Hazzard County'. The prop master for the show in the later seasons was very good about maintaining continuity with props like license plates, (the early seasons were kind of a mess) so they very likely had a custom set of prop plates made just for this episode. One of the plates that I got from the prop house that made the originals had a defect in the county label area. I removed the lettering from that section, sanded and repainted it, and replaced the missing text with a Capitol City label that I cut from red vinyl using the correct font/typeface. Coincidentally, the prop company uses the exact same type and color of paint for these plates that I have already been using for my replicas for several years! Their red details are also a perfect match for the red vinyl I use. (Bonus detail: The guy who runs the Capitol City junkyard is Will Hare, who is probably best known as 'Old Man Peabody' in Back to the Future)

It's amazing. I've been watching Dukes for 41 years and there are still things I either missed or didn't pay attention to.

I watched Days of Thunder last night. I haven't seen it in years. I'd forgotten how good it is. There were a couple unrealistic scenes but overall pretty entertaining.

I'd recognize a runner from a mile away.

Except for the times that I'm shucking and jiving folks....which is only about every other post.

My latest project completed; MPC Dodge Monaco body and interior, 71 Charger chassis, engine and suspension, plus lots more : Some of what went into it:

I agree Hobie. It's hard to believe it's a model since it looks so real....incredible attention to detail, especially the interior.

Here's another update! I painted the interior and used embossing powder for the carpeting. The interior is painted Tamiya XF-59 Desert Yellow. The dashboard and speaker tray are painted Testors Acryl Leather with a few drops of white added. The center console is painted to look like wood although it doesn't show too well in the pictures. I painted Testors Acryl Leather over Testors Flat White with some Radone Tan added. I used BMF(Bare Metal Foil) on the door handles and trim. The chassis is done. Since it's a snap kit with molded in exhaust and drivetrain, I just painted it Testors Acryl Aircraft Interior Black. The Exhaust and drive shaft are brush painted with Citadel Leadbelcher. The engine oil pan is brush painted Testors International Orange and the transmission is Tamiya XF-16 Flat Aluminum. The gas tank was airbrushed with Tamiya XF-56 Metallic Grey. The body was clear coated with Gunze Mr. Super Clear and polished. I have to apply BMF to the moldings and install the windows.
