I was listening to the Dale Jr podcast today about the race and fight. Dale said Kyle has this smirk he gives when "apologizing" that... He trailed off but the other guy on the podcast said makes you want to punch Kyle in the face . I've seen the replays and Kyle should have let it go after giving Ricky the one shot on the track, he didn't need to hit him a 2nd time in the same turn. Now if Ricky follows through with his threat NASCAR will have no choice but to park him.

...In the Sky Teresa was Dale Earnhardt Sr's wife who took over DEI racing after his death and refused to give Dale jr controlling interest of DEI. She tried trademarking the #8 to earn money off of Dale jr's merchandise but NASCAR told her she doesn't own, and will never own, the number. No team owns the numbers NASCAR does and leases them out.

Here's what happened after the race https://sports.yahoo.com/nascar-ricky-stenhouse-jr-throws-punch-at-kyle-busch-after-all-star-race-020311803.html?.tsrc=daily_mail&segment_id&ncid=crm_19908-1202929-20240520-0&bt_user_id=yhCWo3FGfrJ9QqLbPmiuI%2BjiySqJlfFuJ9qZz4ZIYk4bcDu6dggfGuylwfR97WrS&bt_ts=1716209451292 I bet there might be a few people missing the next race or two for this. Yes she did. Funny she tried trademarking the #8 a few weeks ago and got shot down . Jockey

Ricky Stenhouse didn't last long in the all Star race , 2 laps in and Kyle Busch gave him payback for being ran up the track into the wall. Kyle Larson qualified 5th for the Indy 500 next Sunday.

On Dirty Mo Media's Door Bumper Clear podcast they talked about some Cup series garage rumors. Kaulig Racing and Trackhouse are rumored to be in talks to merge for 2025. Stewart Haas Racing is rumored to dissolve and sell everything, I could see this happening. Gene Haas is spending $$$$$$$$ on F1. Tony Stewart is busy as a team owner and driver in NHRA. That happening would give Andretti Motorsports an easy in road to NASCAR. They were thinking about it a few years ago but the deal fell through. And with the rumor of Cadillac coming to the cup series that would work since F1 voted to not let Andretti Cadillac play in their sandbox.

I've been up since 4am since local meteorologists said best viewing time was going to be 4-6am. Nothing but stars and moon. Even took a half hour drive around the countryside. Should have figured it would be as accurate as their weather forecasts this year . From what I've seen on Facebook and Reddit locally it was visible for about 15 minutes around midnight which that time was predicted to be a low chance to see them. Hopefully we'll get another chance this year to see them.
-
Local news meteorologist updated their aurora prediction for 3am-6am so I'm going to wake up early.
-
According to tonight's news we'll get a 2nd chance tonight as they said it should be just as visible/vivid tonight if not more so.
-
I unfortunately slept through them . I was so exhausted from mowing lawns and planting a flower garden that I fell asleep around 8:30 didn't wake up till 6 this morning. I had every intention of driving a few miles out into the country to see them. Local meteorologist say there's another chance we might see them tonight so I'll definitely stay awake tonight. I set another personal record, 11.29 miles I walked yesterday. I think I might split the lawns next week to two days though. My legs like jelly today.

Here's one out of left field.... Michael McDowell is leaving Front Row Motorsports for Spire Motorsports, will drive the #71 Chevy in 2025 https://www.jayski.com/2024/05/08/michael-mcdowell-leaving-front-row-motorsports-at-seasons-end/ Also rumor is Stewart Haas Racing could be merging with another team or possibly shutting down at the end of the season. This could have something to do with FRM letting Michael go as they are rumored to be interested in SHR's charters so they might merge and become a 3 or 4 car team. Haas has more interest in F1 at the moment and Stewart is quite busy drag racing in NHRA.

Yep that's a great day for Motorsports fans, Monaco Grand Prix in the morning, Indy 500 at noon and World 600 at night.
-
The North American continent F1 races are on ABC for free, the rest are on ESPN except for Monaco which is live on ESPN in the morning then rebroadcast on ABC after the Indy 500 and before the World 600.

That kind of sucks about the streaming races next year. I'm not paying $120 or 130 a year for Prime and the ones on TNT will also be available on Max but you have to be a subscriber to the sports package on top of the Max subscription so that's going to be a no for me too. If Nascar thinks the tv ratings for races this year that have been on FS1 are off wait till next year. I do hope Dale jr's on track interviews will be posted to YouTube though, that will be an interesting tidbit. F1 actually beat NASCAR for the first time in USA viewership. Sundays Miami race averaged 3.1 million viewers with a peak of 3.6 million for the finish. The Kansas race only had 2.3 million viewers.

Surprised Garrett didn't mention this already but Kyle Larson won by the closest margin ever in a cup race Sunday night. Now onto the Silly Season rumors.... Stewart Haas Racing is most likely going to shrink to a 3 car team and sell one of its charters. It sent out a memo to interested teams of what it wants $$$$ wise https://www.jayski.com/2024/05/07/will-stewart-haas-racing-downsize-next-year/ Interested buyers include 23XI racing, Front Row Motorsports, Legacy Motorclub and Trackhouse Racing. Speaking of Charters, NASCAR and teams still have not come to an agreement yet https://www.jayski.com/2024/05/06/the-latest-on-nascar-charter-negotiations/ NASCAR has also said it wants a charter owned by the France family however that might change due to heavy pushback from owners and drivers. NASCAR might be forced to dump the V8 by 2026 or beyond if manufacturers have their way. Certain manufacturers want to run hybrid engines that they already use in the vehicles they build. https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Articles/2024/05/06/motorsports?publicationSource=sbj&issue=3bb600ea0db04fa1bc247cbf890b7096 If that happens I will not be watching, I enjoy hearing the loud V8's. With that rumor apparently Honda and Hyundai are in talks with joining NASCAR if they move to hybrid powertrains. V8 Supercars driver Will Brown has been in talks with RCR to drive the 33 for Sonoma https://www.jayski.com/2024/05/05/supercars-driver-will-brown-reportedly-making-cup-debut-with-richard-childress-racing-at-sonoma/
