Mary Ann:"I see we have another visitor."

Gilligan:"This is Alf. He's from Melmac."

Mary Ann:"How come everybody can get to this island, but we can't get off?"

Gilligan:"Really? I must've overlooked the pattern."

Skipper (Conks Gilligan on the head with his Skipper hat, which goes "Bonk!")

Alf:"Ha ha! I never get tired of that!"

Gilligan:(Disgruntled.)"I get tired of it!"

Alf:"You know Gilligan, that Mary Ann has s kind of cute. Why haven't you ever asked her out?"

Gilligan:"Where would we go!?"

Alf:"Ha ha ha! Where would we go!? Ha ha ha!"

Skipper:"This little fella is easily amused Gilligan!"

Gilligan:"Yeah! I like him!"

I wonder what ingredients go in Alf's drink in his series episode Somewhere Over the Rerun. His Skipper Coladas in those Coconuts. He drilled the hole open and filled them with something. I wonder what kind of booze you put in there? I wanna replicate The Skipper Colada.

Gilligan's Island Fun Fact: Did you know that Alan Hale Jr., the beloved actor who played the Skipper on Gilligan's Island, was cremated and his ashes were scattered at sea, fulfilling his final wish? A fitting tribute to a man who spent so much time on the water, and in the hearts of fans everywhere.

Gilligan:"It's too bad we don't have a Captain of a boat."

Skipper:"Gilligan, what is it you think I look like, a mermaid?"

Gilligan:"Oh no Skipper. A mermaid has a long tail and- Oh yeah you're the Captain of the Minnow."

DIY Hack Alert!

Did you know a $65 Midway Cap Co. Skipper hat can be transformed into a $249 Benford Yacht Hat? Both hats feature the same Gorget Braid style rope hat band and Gold Anchor side buttons. To replicate the Benford look, simply order the Midway Cap plain with braid and buttons, then add your own custom hand embroidery with Gold Bullion Wire. Get the high-end look without the hefty price tag!"

My Facebook post.

Sometimes I wonder if things happen for a reason. I once eyed a $249 Benford Yacht Hat, despite its braid not matching Alan Hale Jr.'s style. When Bluenox advertised a Lancaster Uniform Cap Co. hat with the right braid, I was excited... but ended up with a Gorget Braid Benford-style hat instead. Scammed, but for $78.29, it was a deal. Fast forward, my mom transformed it into the Lancaster I originally wanted. Maybe God worked it out this way, using a less-than-ideal situation to bring me closer to what I wanted all along?

Someone commented "NICE CAP" about the Benford Yacht Hat. I was thinking my comment but did not publish it. Lol. I was thinking "Yeah nice hat. But the $249 price ain't nice." Lol. As nice as Benford Yacht Hat may be, it ain't no Lancaster Uniform Cap Co. Cap. Which is the brand of Alan Hale Jr. The Skipper.

Did you know that Lancaster Uniform Cap Co., the primary maker of the iconic Skipper hat worn by Alan Hale Jr. in the original Gilligan's Island series (1964-1967) and reunion movies (1979 and 1981), is no longer in operation?

Today, Midway Cap Co. in Chicago is the only official maker of the Skipper hat still in business. Interestingly, they also produced the secondary hat worn by the Skipper in the 1978 movie Rescue From Gilligan's Island, as well as Alf's hat in the 1987 TV special Alf: Somewhere Over the Rerun.

If you're a fan of Gilligan's Island or looking for a unique hat, you might want to check out Midway Cap Co.!

FUN FACT: Did you know Puerto Rico has its OWN Gilligan's Island?!

This tiny island is open to campers and visitors - a real-life deserted island adventure (hopefully with better luck than the SS Minnow crew!)

Has anyone been here? Share your photos!

The Broner Hat Co. description of their White and Navy Blue Skipper Yacht Cap.

This Yacht Cap is one size fits all and looks much like one Skipper wore on Gilligan's Island. So next time, when you're sailing with her on your 60 foot clipper, and you both look up to marvel at the marvelous Big Dipper, take her in your arms. But gently, not like Jack The Ripper, and say "Baby, if you'll be my mate, I'll be your loving Skipper." Gush gush. Just make sure you're wearing the hat my captain."

Season 2 Gilligan's Living Doll

Gilligan:"Professor, have you seen my lucky rabbits foot?"

Professor:"Gilligan, I thought I told you not to believe those silly superstitions."

Gilligan:"But it brings me good luck."

Professor:"Luck Gilligan, is all in the mind."

Gilligan:"Professor, with my mind, I need all the luck I can get!"

Gilligan's Island Fun Fact: Scenes for the Lancaster Uniform Cap Co. hat in all 3 movies Rescue From Gilligan's Island (1978), The Castaways On Gilligan's Island (1979), and The Harlem Globetrotters On Gilligan's Island (1981) are "The Skipper Brave and Sure" when he's seen smiling and looks down at the ship wheel sign S. S. MINNOW ISLAND CHARTER EXOTIC TRIP FREE LUNCHES and back up at us still smiling. And the Midway Uniform Cap Co. hat is in the ship wheel scene when it has him inside and the lyrics sing "The Skipper too". Rescue even though Lancaster is on 1 actual movie scene, it's still predominantly Midway thru out. While the last 2 are predominantly Lancaster thru out the actual films.
