Gilligan's Island fans... I read a Gilligan's Island fanfiction story. A fan's take on the Season 3 episode The Hunter. The fanfic was called Until My Last Breath. Just like in the episode, Kincaid hunts Gilligan. But some twists. In the fanfic, Gilligan is forced to survive the night time temperatures after his clothes get wet, and to find make shift medicine and make shift medical attention after he breaks a bone because of running from Jonathan Kincaid. More intense than the actual series episode.

Here's a question. In Season 2 You've Been Disconnected, when the castaways found that phone cable, why didn't they call their own homes? Surely they had family at home? You would think they would've called home instead of calling strangers.

Gilligan's Island Fun Fact: Alan Hale Jr. wore Lancaster Uniform Cap Co. in the original 3 seasons 98 episodes 1964-1967. All 3 movies Rescue From Gilligan's Island (1978), The Castaways On Gilligan's Island (1979) and The Harlem Globetrotters On Gilligan's Island (1981) had Lancaster Uniform Cap Co. and Midway Uniform Cap Co. in the theme song scenes. "The Skipper Brave and Sure" scene was Lancaster while "The Skipper too" scene was Midway. The only full movie to have Midway in the actual film not just theme song scenes is Rescue From Gilligan's Island (1978) though.

I chatted with Bob Denver(Gilligan) back when he was still with us. I asked him "Hi Bob. Where can I find a hat like Alan wore when he played your Skipper?" He replied to me "Try a fishing store like K-Mart or the others." I said "Thank you Bob(Gilligan)!" Of course all those stores had were the cheapy adjustable hats with machine made sewn or glued on patch Skipper emblem. In Gold or Canary Yellow colored threads. They never had the hand embroidered genuine Gold Bullion Wire hat that I seeked out. Also those stores only had white and navy. Never no black ones. This was before I discovered the Affordable hand embroidered ones on eBay. But back then, I was very grateful to Bob(Gilligan)Denver and I took whatever those stores had that I could get.

"I'm still in awe of the incredible coincidence that led me to find my holy grail - a replica of Alan Hale Jr.'s iconic Skipper hat from Gilligan's Island!

 

But here's the amazing part: before he passed away, Alan Hale Jr. himself had searched online for this exact hat, but all he could find were Navy Blue ones. And in a photo of him wearing his signature hat, the caption reads: "Alan Hale Jr. says 'Good luck kid, you'll never find one.'"

 

Fast forward to today, and I'm thrilled to say that I've actually found one! I'm convinced that Alan Hale Jr. himself had a hand in guiding me to it from beyond the great beyond.

 

As a die-hard fan of the show since I was three, finding this hat has been a dream come true. And I'm not the only one who thinks it's special - my friends are all amazed by the coincidence too!
