Roth Potter
Hey guys.As I see my desktop quite a lot I find it important that there is a nice picture on it. So I made myself a slideshow of Formula 1, Dukes of Hazzard. Trains and some random things.I wanna share mine so here I go.No, this is not my picture but because this dutch model train picture was so good I had to use it.A great picture of a Caterham F1 CT01in the back from left to right. Tom Coronel: Current dutch WTCC driver, Giedo van der Garde: Current Dutch rookie Caterham Formula One driver, Jos Verstappen: most successful Dutch Formula One driver now retired, Robin Frijns: Netherlands upcoming talent. Frijns won the last 3 championships he drove in. he was rookie in 2 of them. And in the blue Max Verstappen who recently became the karting world champion and recently drove a Formula Renault 2.0 car at the age of 15.And of course the Dukes!I didn't want to spam the forum with multiple posts of desktops so if you want to see the rest please go to this link:http://www.flickr.com/photos/96183273@N07/sets/72157636441853214/I'd like to see other people desktop so if you want please post yours.Don't know how to make a screenshot of your desktop?1. Go to your desktop and press print screen/prnt scrn2. Go to the start/windows button and search for paint.3. Open paint and press CTRL and V at the same time, your desktop should appear now as a picture in paint.4. In paint go to 'File' and then 'Safe as'.5. in a beam lower in the safe as windows is some text saying Safe as PNG. now click on that beam and change it to JPEG.5. remember in which map you are and click safe. HossC
I usually have at least six or seven windows open, and only restart my computer about once a week, so I rarely see my desktop. Consequently, it's been the same for ages. It's an arty shot of a Mitchell Gyro Dec turntable. When I was a teenager, this was on my dream list for the ultimate hi-fi system. They were well out of my price range, but I loved the clear base and polished cylinders. Mitchell is actually an engineering company rather than a hi-fi company, and still produce the Gyro Dec today. They now cost $2000-3000 - more info here.I also remember its appearance in a cereal commercial at about the same time:
Garrett Duke
Well I couldn't find a print screen tab on my desktop when I tried to follow the instructions....so I am still lost on how to get a picture of my AWESOME desktop picture. So I guess I will have to just tell you what it is...bummer. I reset my desktop picture every time Jeff Gordon wins. So my current picture is of Jeff Gordon celebrating his win at Pocono last season...and even though I REALLY love my desktop picture right now, would love a new one seeing how that would mean that Jeff would win again. If I wasn't such a dummy I would be proud to show you my AWESOME Jeff Gordon desktop picture...

Garrett Duke
Well I hope that works...otherwise that is the only way I know how to insert images from my computer. Thanks for the help Roth. Sorry it isn't any bigger...but you should get the idea of what it looks like at least. Isn't it awesome or what?! Roth Potter
Now these are the things I want to see! I don't know much of Jeff Gordon or NASCAR but it is a really nice picture of him from the small one I can see. For posting a picture the next time though I would recommend using tinypic.com as the picture upload site so it will be bigger, and you don't have to create an account on that website. K-Duke15
Well, all of your guys's sound and look awesome. For my home laptop, I can create multiple themes that have slideshows of pictures. Of course I have Dukes, but I also have Emergency!, Sims 3, Vera Bradley (purse and accessories), Harry Potter (when the second to last movie was coming out I think), and a couple more. I only use the Dukes, Emergency!, and Vera Bradley ones though now-a-days. Since there are so many pictures, I can't really post them but y'all have the idea. Then there is my school laptop that as just a boring screen that I will probably never change because I'm that lazy. But that screen is attached to this post.
Garrett Duke
Well y'all...if anyone reads my reviews for today's NASCAR win, would learn that Jeff Gordon won today's race. And as custom with his wins, I have renewed or changed my desktop picture. So I will try to show you my new one...and as y'all know I am not the smartest when it comes to downloading pictures. URGH. I went through the steps I followed last time and it wouldn't take. So now it shows three pictures of it. Ah well...

Roth Potter
Garrett, and I thought Formula One had a lot of marbles. Great pictures people! but why always attachments? they make the picture smaller.Anyway, I've update my slideshow.I like Christmas lights a lot so you can't go wrong with a bit of the Stardust Casino In Las Vegas. I don't like gambling but the light in Vegas are amazing. This casino was the one I knew from a young age as well as it was the mainly featured Casino in a dutch kids show explaining about the USA's history. this is wear my love for the USA came from. Also my mother did the official fan club of this kids show and so managed to get all of the shows video cassettes and Cd's for free. I still have them and at least twice a year re-watch the American episodes. The shows name was 'Bassie & Adriaan'.I remember this shot from that show. I miss that sign, It looked very nice.I am not a Vettel fan but his donuts were so nice I had to have this picture.
HossC
I am not a Vettel fan but his donuts were so nice I had to have this picture.I also enjoyed his donuts yesterday, but did you see that Red Bull got fined €25,000 (over $34,000) for Vettel not following the correct end of race procedure? I know the tires can be marginal at the end of the race, and they usually pick up marbles to ensure the car makes the weight limit, but I think all the fans would like the drivers to be able to celebrate a little, especially when they've just won their fourth world championship in a row. Roth Potter
So you are a Formula One fan? If so we could chat during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. This is one of those things where the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) can learn a lot from the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). HossC
Remind me nearer to Sunday, but I think I can make that.I agree about the FIA - sometimes they seem to forget about the fans.
Roth Potter
Ok, i'll message you about it.
Roth Potter
Updated them once again. This time including excellent pictures from HossC.I love dancing fountains and Christmas lights so this is the perfect place. Its the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas.I would've almost wrote water organ instead of dancing fountains but that means something totally different in english. HossC's excellent Hazzard sheriff Dodge Monaco driving on my desktop. thanks Hoss! I could have animated it like it's driving but that would lower the cars quality to much in my opinion. And off course General Lee. I'm still perplexed by the quality of these Vector Arts.By the way, is AutoCAD also Vector Art?Pretty nice picture of the cars in Parc fermé after the 2013 United States Grand Prix at the circuit of the Americas located near Austin, Texas. HossC
By the way, is AutoCAD also Vector Art?I think AutoCad could produce two- and three-dimensional vector art, but it's overkill for this sort of stuff. There's some free 3D modeling software called Blender that you could try - the download site is here. It looks like you missed their conference in Amsterdam last month .It would love to convert some of my drawings to 3D, but it's a steep learning curve. Roth Potter
I've been learning AutoCAd this year on school. That's why I asked.
HossC
I've been learning AutoCad this year on school. That's why I asked. I look forward to seeing your 3D models of Hazzard .
Roth Potter
Unfortunately we don't learn to work with 3D, only with layers. Though I might try something. At the moment I'm working on a sideview of a wagon of a dutch train type Plan T. We could chose our self what we wanted to create as practice model, but it had to have a blueprint. I couldn't find one for a charger as I didn't know it was blueprint in english... It meant that I could find one in Dutch. Though i'll post a picture of that train soon.No colour use yet though and I can only work on it in school.
