NewDuke
At the very beginning of each episode, this awesome theme plays during the 20-30 sec string of preview scenes (before and leading up to the Just the Good Ol Boys song). It varies over the years, and I think the later seasons (namely s7) is the best. I've been searching for years and no CD or pay mp3 site has this track. Does anyone have any leads as to where I could get this? Thanks!John

NewDuke
It's been a long time but I've never given up the search. I've learned that much of the steel guitar in the series was played by JD Maness. I was able to contact Mr. Maness a couple years ago and he confirmed that he played much of the music but he did not think any of it was ever released. Since then, I have been looking into recreating the track by trying to hire instrumental artists through fiverr.com. However I cannot find anyone skilled enough to even attempt the steel guitar part. I'd appreciate any advice or leads on the original track. If I somehow get a good version of this, I will definitely post it here. RogerDuke
I sure wish I could help John but I will say this....it's good to see you care enough to take something like this on. Good luck and we hope to hear from you some more. Hobie Hartkins
Roth Potter
Cool to know who played the music for the show. I guess he might've composed that chase music and that before the intro tune?
NewDuke
11.5 year bump! I'm still looking for this track, but no new information to add. I never found a steel guitarist who would attempt this on Fiverr. Here is an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGU61fWAqnQ RogerDuke and Hobie Hartkins
Hobie Hartkins
I heard an electric guitar but didn't hear a steel guitar. I'm sure the music was done by Waylon Jenning's band, The Waylors. RogerDuke
