Luke stared at his motionless feet before looking over to Bo. "I didn't mean t drive you away."

Bo shook his head softly and looked back at Luke.

"You didn't...this whole thing with Troy just...shook me up real bad...an'...well it was just mainly that...it made me think about the future, everythin' that's happenin' and everythin' that will happen...its...its a scary thing t'think about..."

Yeah...yeah it sure is....

Bo nodded again and looked back out the window at the farm, watching Jaime and Troy.

Jaime was leading Maudine around by a rope. Troy sat on her, hanging onto her mane with all his might a big grin on his face.

Bo smiled a little, seeing Troy's happy grin and wondering how long it had been since the boy had had something to smile about...he couldn't believe what Diane had done and he swore if he ever saw her again it would be too soon.

Luke looked out the window also. "Looks like they get along good...."

Bo nodded softly.

"I think Troy'll get along with anyone..."

Luke nodded softly watching them. " Don't seem so long ago that that was me leadin' you around on Maudine...."

"Yeah I know what ya mean....all o'this...makes ya realize just how much we's grown..."

Bo said softly.

Luke smiled a little. "Remember the time we tried t train Maudine to be a racehorse?"

Bo chuckled softly and nodded

"We sure didn't get very far on that one..."

"Got further than we did tryin' t joust with her...don't think the goat ever forgave me for that.."

Bo laughed, shaking his head.

"No...he followed you around buttin' yer behind whenever he could for days..."

"An my behind was already hurtin' from Jesse" added Luke ruefully.

Bo nodded with a smirk.

"Yeah...mind you that weren't the worst lashin' ya ever got...compared to others that was relativly mild..."

Luke raised an eyebrow. "Seems t me you got a few momorable ones yaself..."

Bo smirked

"Ain't denyin' it....I's had my fair share..."

Luke sighed and looked out the window. "Where'd the time go..." he said to himself.

"It flew by....just like everyone says..."

Bo said softly

Luke nodded a little looking at Bo again.

Bo sighed, still watching Troy out there, running a hand through his hair. He wasn't trembling or anything like that...but it was clear the slight fear that showed in his eyes.

"You're gonna be a great dad Bo," said Luke seeing his cousin's fear.

Bo swallowed softly, looking down at his hands.

"I's...I've never been a role model before...someone to look up to...s'alot of pressure..."

"Troy couldna askd for a better one..." returned Luke softly, the harsh words spoken between them seemingly forgiven and forgotten.
