Daddy Duke (continuation of Why is it)

Bo nodded and carefully shifted Troy in his lap without waking him to the nurse could reach him arm, rubbing Troy's back softly and placing a hand on his cheek gently so as to keep Troy's attention diverted from the needle...he then had to close his eyes and rest his forehead on the top Of Troy's head so he couldn't see it happen either.

Troy whimpered when he felt the needle, waking up and crying out "Daddy!"

The nurse rubbed his arm gently. "All done sweetheart."

Bo rocked him softly and kissed the top of his head, holding him close tightly but gently.

"Hey Troy its alright...i'm here...its all done...the last one...its all done..."

Troy cried in Bo's arms his tears wetting Bo's shirt, not out of pain so much as he was tired of the pricks...tired of being sick... he just wanted to go home.

"Troy...hey...look its all done now...as soon as ya get some sleep ya can go home..."

Bo tried to soothe, rocking Troy gently as he rubbed the young boy's back.

"Wan...go...home," sniffed Troy. "Wan...go...home...Daddy..."

[BoJamesDuke]

"I know, I know...just have one more little sleep in yer bed Troy then I can take ya home I promise..."

[DaisyMaeDuke]

"Daddy...sleep wi' me?" asked Troy.

[BoJamesDuke]

"I'll sit by yer bed Troy but I ain't allowed to get in the bed..."

He said softly as he gently lay Troy down and tucked him under the covers again.

Troy reached out for his Daddy's hand.

Bo smiled and took it gently, rubbing his thumb over the small knuckles.

"Love Daddy..." murmured Troy softly his eyes drooping.

Bo swallowed softly, running a hand through Troy's hair.

"I love you too Troy..."

Troy held Bo's hand in both his own, his face pressed close against it falling asleep.

Bo smiled softly, watching him as he slept, softly fingering the blonde curls that were so like his own.

Luke siged as he lay in his bed. He couldn't understand how an injured foot could leave him feeling so weak and tired, but it had.

Daisy came into the room, carrying a tray with his lunch stacked on it as well as a few tablets.

"Hey there...want me to open the curtains? Its a lovely day outside..."

"Sure thing," he said softly.

[BoJamesDuke]

Daisy nodded and carefully placed the tray on Bo's bed for a moment before going to the curtains and easing them open and opening the window slightly.

"Some fresh air oughta do you some good too."

She said with a smile as she came back over, helping Luke to sit up.

Luke flushed a little as she helped him. He hated how useless he felt and depending on others was more than he could handle. "I hate this, he admitted softly.

Daisy sighed and said playfully.

"Oh stop being a big baby about it...its not an uncommon occurance for someone to break a bone and you aint no exception. You's lucky actually that it was just yer foot. Imagine how you'd be if she'd knocked ya down an' stomped all over ya! Look on the bright side...you can walk around after a while so long as you dont overdo it...and you get yer girlfriend round every day t'check on ya so it can;t be all bad...plus you get waited on hand an' foot too which is unusual so make the most of it..."

She said trying to get Luke to smile

Luke smiled a little. "Guess I should be grateful huh?"

"Dang right ya should mister...don't get used t'all this breakfast an' lunch in bed neither. Soon as yer back on yer feet ya can eat standin' fer a month then you'll wish you'd broke yer foot again..."

She said with a firm tone but couldn't keep the giggle from her voice.

Luke smirked. "Cute."

Daisy grinned and curtsied

"Why thank ya fer noticing.."
