Jaime folded her arms.

"You can't make me wear anything..."

"Watch me..." He frowned and opened her closet door, taking out a long flowered dress with a high neckline, that reached past her ankles. "There...where that."

Jaime remained where she was, her arms folded across her chest.

"I'd love to see you try and make me..."

Luke felt his face getting red. "You're pushing it Jaime. You ain't leavin the house like that...so if you don't wanna wear this..." he held up the dress, "...then I suggest you find something appropriate."

Jaime stood up, actually a little peeved at how Luke was reacting now.

"Well I don't think its fair that Aunt Daisy gets to wear this sort of thing everyday and none of you's bats an eyelid!"

"Aunt Daisy is a grown woman, well over 18. And she isn't my daughter...you are," answered Luke, irritated himself.

"Yeah well, this daughter wants to do some new things for herself..."

She said, darting off the bed and out her room, darting through the kitchen and jumping over a kitchen chair, seeing the school bus just starting to drive past the farm and her friends all cheering her on.

What she didn't count on however, was Bo. He eaisly was hidden behind the tree when he saw her steaming outside and caught her round her middle, holding her.

Luke tore after her stopping as he saw Bo grab her and hold her, chuckling to himself. He made his way up to his daughter. "Don't you know by now, if Bo knows one thing it's how to catch the ladies..."

Bo grinned back, relinquishing his hold over to Luke.

"But one thing I ain't been very good at is knowin' how to make them listen...good luck cousin..."

He said with a wink before heading inside.

Luke looked at him with one of his famous looks. "Thanks a lot..." He kept both hands on Jaime's shoulders walking her back inside.

Jaime sighed as she watched the school bus leave down the road, her friends all giving her sympathetic and better luck next time looks as she was walked inside like a prisoner was walked to a jail cell.

"Did you really think I was gonna let you go to school like that?" asked Luke.

Jaime shrugged, sitting down in the seat that Luke pressed her into at the breakfast table, putting her hands on the table and twidling her thumbs as she watched them.

"Look at me when I talk to you," insisted Luke bringing her chin up. "Now you listen. You are a beautiful beautiful girl...you ain't gotta wear short shorts and tiny tops to emphasize it...anyone with an eye can see it."

Jaime moved her chin out of his grip and looked down at the table again, sitting back in her chair.

"I know that! But its Summer! It's too hot to wear jeans and long sleved tops...it could be worse Daddy, I could be going out wearing all them short skirts lots o'people are wearin'..."

"All I'm askin is that you dress modestly...that's all," returned Luke quietly.

Jaime shook her head.

"You wouldn't know what dressed moderatly is if it came up and slapped you in the face..."

She mumbled back, going to her room and slamming the door.

"I know it ain't what you're wearin!" called Luke after her before sitting weakly down.

Daisy smiled as she placed some breakfast in front of him and called Uncle Jesse in for his as well as Bo from the bathroom.

"Luke...she's testin' the waters...and she is right to a degree...it is real hot out there..."

"That may be...but that wasn't dressin' to stay cool...and you and I both know that."

Daisy sighed, sitting down at the table.

"Well maybe it was....just a different type of cool..."

Luke looked down not saying anything to that.

Daisy looked up as Jesse came in and smiled to him, Bo joining them not too long after and sitting at the table, instantly reaching to grab a piece of bread but stopping when he got the glare from Jesse as the patriarch sat at his place.

Luke sighed softly feeling less and less adequate. Should he escort her to the table since she was late for school anyway? Should he leave her be? He didn't know anymore.

Bo looked over to Luke as he sighed and saw the deeply troubled look appear on his face again and Jesse didn't miss it either.

"What's going on Luke?"
