wekke Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 How about these:Places: "Possum Hollow" or "Sleepy Hollow" ?Hotels "Port Royal" or "Metropole" ? Quote
wekke Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 ooooh... Well, you're half right ;-)Possum Hollow is correct. But there is a hotel in at the end of the "shop row" street (behind & across the street from the church), called the Metropole...Port Royal is a real place in Jamaica, mostly known as a safe harbour for pirates, hunderds of years ago. If it sounds familiar, that's probably because it was also clearly featured in the "Pirates of the Caribbean"-movies. Quote
RogerDuke Posted March 24, 2009 Author Report Posted March 24, 2009 This is awesome wekke!! I'd love it if you'd post a few more Duke or Dupes.Don't get me wrong, I love doing this thread but it sure would be a fun change of pace if I could answer on occasion.......instead of being the one asking all the time. Sorry I didn't see that last one before you posted the answer. Quote

RogerDuke Posted March 24, 2009 Author Report Posted March 24, 2009 The Hotel Metropole first appeared in the first season and was later known as the Hogg Hotel Quote
wekke Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Ain't this fun? :-DNext one: Boss Hogg's grits company:"HOGGOCO GRITS" or "HOGG GRITS CO" ? Quote
DaisyMaeDuke Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Wasn't Hoggoco the name of the gasoline company...like Sunoco? Quote
wekke Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Aha... Yes, HOGGOCO was the oil company.Boss' grits were under the label "HOGG GRITS CO", not Hoggoco... Quote
RogerDuke Posted March 25, 2009 Author Report Posted March 25, 2009 Shucks...another one that I didn't get to respond to before the answer was posted. In addition to oil, HOGGOCO was also a fake insurance company of Boss's.I'm pretty sure it was from "The Great Insurance Fraud"...season 5 Quote
