gooup
Is there a particular place to discuss the Reunion Episode? It really bothered me how only Bo drove on the reunion. Does anyone have any info on why this is?
iloveluke6
Yeah it bothered me to, and when Luke got off of that firetruck there wasn't a need for him to kiss her lol...
gooup
I'm wondering if John's ego caused him to stipulate this in the contract? Does anyone else have any ideas?
TimDuke
Now I'm only assuming this but since Bo was still active as a professional race driver and Luke went to fight fires. Luke probably lost a little bit of his driving edge so it just made sense to have Bo drive. Bo drove about 90% of the time on the series anyways. gooup
Bo drove about 90% of the time on the series anyways.Really?!! (i'm not being facetious or confrontational) I haven't watched the series in great amounts since being a kid, but i do catch it from time to time on CMT. I thought i remembered them driving 50/50. I guess i'm remembering wrong!
leandar
Yes, Luke was a good driver, but seeing as how Bo had been driving professionally for years probably at that point, I'm sure Luke was content to let Bo drive. Besides, if Luke had done a lot of the driving we might not have got: "You are aware that this road goes to Dry Creek?""I am aware this road goes to Dry Creek.""You are aware that there's no way to get over Dry Creek?""I am aware there is ONE way to get over Dry Creek.""Oh lord, I'm gonna die!!"LOL
Jamanda
This is just a theory, but I do know that John Schnieder owns a General Lee (Tom Wopat does not) so maybe John was driving his own car. Just a theory though. Maybe Tom didn't want to drive so he could make fun of John's driving hee hee.
Cedar_Creek_Duke
If you think about it, how many times do you remember Luke jumping the General? I can't think of any off hand, but I assume he did. It just really seems that Bo always jumped the General, drove the best and that's who fans really want to see behind the wheel. leandar
Luke jumped the General Lee plenty of times, but you are correct in that Bo did it a lot more.
AmandaRobson
Yep, that's right, Luke jumped the General lots of times. And I think, just looking at the first four seasons, which I've watched alot more than the rest:In season one Bo did alomst all the driving, and Luke did all the hood sliding. Two and Three were split up a little bit more and things were 50/50.Four, went back to Bo doin more driving. Now I don't know about the rest. And if you think about it, Luke still does a heck of alot of driving, just not nessecarily in the General Lee. He also does more stunts, like jumping onto the roof of a moving van, he can't drive and do that!
leandar
Also, it wasn't an ego thing. I remember hearing John and Tom once saying that it wasn't quite as easy sometimes getting in and out of the opposite side they were used to doing. Iloveschnieder
I just watched the first reunion movie for the first time since it's original airing. Can y'all PLEASE refresh my poor memory. Why didn't Waylon return as the Ballader? Was he too sick then? Other prior commitments that he couldn't get out of? Also is this way he also wasn't in the second reunion movie? Also I (ashamed to say) can't remember which episode it was that the General lost to the Double Zero! I have gone through all the episode guides and I just can't figure it out and it is really bugging me.Thanks and "keep it between the ditches"
Cedar_Creek_Duke
As well as I can remember, I think the Double 00 was created for the reunion movie. I don't think it was actually in the series. As for why Waylon didn't do the movies, I can't recall either.

Capt_Redneck
The second movie "Hazzard In Hollywood" had a great line by the balladeer Mac Davis....It is when in the scene in the beginning in Hazzard square about the berries and " it causes a certain male appenage to be harder than Japanese arithmatic".......Wonder what that means? Guess they got away with that one..I'm goneDarrell
TimDuke
As most of you are aware both reunions had very slim budgets(A shame too.) Waylon wanted too much money to do the Balladeer duties. Yes the Double Zero was created for the reunion movie it never appeared in the TV series.
Iloveschnieder
Oh I didn't realize that the Double Zero was just for the reunion. I think that would have been a great episode, the General losing an overland moonshine race to the Double Zero. It is also a shame that Waylon was asking to much money. It just wasn't quite the same without him in it.
Virgin Enos
When they said 00 was the only car to woop the General in an overland race the refered to Lucefer. Also alot of people on another fourm say they should of hired John Altman as Hughie Hogg instead of Boss Rosco and I agree. Of course the film was on a tight budget. Iloveschnieder
Remember though that Boss was always kicking Hughie out of town, so why would he then leave everything to Hugie?? Also since it was an elected office the folks of Hazzard would rather vote in "the devil that they knew" over Hugie.
TimDuke
Lucifer(13) had no relevance to the 00.I think they ment 00 was the only car to legitimately beat the General. As you recall Luke LET Lucifer win that one race.
Virgin Enos
When they said 00 was the only car to woop the General in an overland race I thought of lucefer. I remember when old boss signed everything over to hughie and he took over Hazzard... what a disaster but Hughie is entertaining and they could twist the script to make him fit in Besides Hughie Hogg is better then no Hogg. why wasn't Lulu in the reunion
Iloveschnieder
That is a good question about why there was no Lulu nor any mention of her. I always loved how she got Boss to do what she wanted.
