Skipper Duke Posted May 6 Posted May 6 I like that sound when the Dukes shift the General Lee gears. The motor goes vroom vroom. Anybody else like that sound too? Quote
Skipper Duke Posted Saturday at 03:02 AM Author Posted Saturday at 03:02 AM I have discovered through rewatches, it's not just the General Lee. Daisy's Road Runner, even the patrol cars make that sound sometimes. Wow! Quote
HossC Posted Saturday at 08:00 AM Posted Saturday at 08:00 AM In the commentary to 'And in This Corner, Luke Duke', they talk about how the cars they used had automatic transmissions when they were supposed to be stick. The gear shifting sounds were probably dubbed from a stick. They also say that they drove everything from 318s to 440s. Cathy asks asks if some of the 440s had a Hemi shifter. Tom tries to correct her by saying "Hertz shifter", but I think he meant Hurst shifter. Either way, John says on the commentary that they all had slap shifters. Skipper Duke 1 Quote
Skipper Duke Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago Did y'all know that the sound of the General Lee was taken from the 1968 Steve McQueen movie Bullitt? Quote
