  4. "Vicki, what is it? What did Jack asked you?" Katie asked as she saw that the redhead was trembling. Vicki breathed heavily for a few moments, trying to stay calm. "Katie, Jack asked me out on a date. I'm not sure on what to do," Vicki said uneasily. "What's the problem?" asked Katie, looking at the redhead. "You told me and Coy earlier that you needed to get on with your life." Putting the cordless phone down on the table, Vicki sighed as she picked up a picture that was sitting on her endtable in her living room. "I'll tell you what the problem is," said Vicki, putting the picture down on the table as a stray tear fell down her face then added, "It's Bo..."
  5. Hearing the police sirens, Jasper glanced behind him as he was about to take a shot at Bo and Vicki. Rosco was right behind the Trans-Am, with his gun drawn, ready for Jasper to try anything. "Drat! The cops! Let's get out of here!" Jasper said angrily. "Sure thing, Boss," said Dave as he turned sharply around, bumping into the black mustang in front of them as he did it. "I knew that I shouldn't have trusted that redhead!" Jasper muttered under his breath. "Jit! They're getting away! Hang on, Flash! We're going after them!" said Rosco excitedly as he turns sharply around, going after the black Trans-Am. Luke followed him in the General Lee. ********* Vicki smiled happily, squeezing Bo's hand as she watched Sheriff Little walked up slowly behind her car. Giving Bo a long hug, Vicki whispered into his ear. "We did it, Bo. We're finally safe." "At least for a short time, sugar," Bo said breathing a sigh of relief as he returned the redhead's hug.
  6. A few minutes later, Vicki breathed a sigh of relief when they rushed passed a couple of patrol cars. Sheriff Little & Rosco had caught up with them. "Vicki, when did you call Sheriff Little & Rosco?" Bo asked surprised, as he looked behind him as the two patrol cars joined in the chase. Vicki glanced behind her, then to the right as she saw the General in the distance. Jasper's car was right on her tail, with Rosco and Sheriff Little right on Jasper's tail. "Bo, it eas eariler this morning, right after you were abducted." Vicki said, glancing behind her as she noticed that Luke had turned sharply in front of Jasper. Vicki immediately slowed down and pulled over to the right as Jasper's car came up fast behind them. As she expected, the Trans-Am pulled off behind them, nearly slamming into the back of the black mustang. "Vicki, what are you doing? Do you want us to get shot?" Bo asked, worriedly. "Bo, don't worry, I know what we're getting into now," Vicki said as she saw 2 patrol cars, blaring their sirens coming up fast behind them.
  7. Vicki straightened, trying to regain her senses, then she walked away from where Katie was, where she could have an ounce of privacy, stretching the spiraling cord as far as it could go. "Jack, what are you wanting to ask me now? If it has something to do with us, I don't want you to keep it from me," Vicki asked, whose heart was beating rapidly. "It's not anythng really, Vicki. I just wanted to hear your sweet voice again. I miss you. I want you...to come out here to California to see me." Vicki stared at the phone in her hand, trying to find the right words to say to Jack. "Jack, can you hold on for a minute?" she asked cheerfully ino the receiver of her phone.
  8. **COOTER'S GARAGE---about 10 minutes later---** Bo, Luke, Cooter, and Vicki listened to the CB as Cletus talked to Rosco. None of them sounded too happy as they listened to Cletus talk to Rosco. "Luke, what are we going to do now? We can't hide here. This will be the first place that they will look for us," said Bo worriedly as he paced around the garage. Luke looked out the window, waiting for Rosco to come out of the Courthouse. "I don't know, cousin. We're going to have to leave here soon. It is starting to snow a little harder." As Bo and Luke were watching for Rosco, Vicki grabbed a hold of Bo's hand, giving it a little comforting squeeze. "Bo, I know of a place where you & Luke can hide out, but it would be the 1st place that Rosco will look for y'all." Luke walked over to where Vicki & Bo were standing. He know what the redhead had on her mind. "Vicki, hiding me and Bo out at your parent's farmhouse would be a good idea, except for one thing..." Luke said rolling his eyes at Bo then added, "Rosco knows by now that most of the time when my lovesick cousin isn't with me, he's with you." Bo rolled his eyes at Luke as he held onto Vicki's left hand. Cooter peered out his garage door at the blinding snow. He could see Rosco and Cletus heading towards the garage. "Hey, y'all aren't going to like this..." Cooter said as he noticed the wind started to blow harder and that Rosco was heading across the street towards them...
  9. "Sugar, they're gaining on us," Bo shouted as he turned around in his seat, then getting back up on the door with his bow & arrows. "I know, Bo. But what can we do?" Vicki asked. "Just try to drive straight for a minute. Maybe I can get a shot off." Bo said as he let a bow sailed right towards the Trans-Am's right front tire. Vicki was pleased when she saw Bo holding the bow & arrow comfortably and carefully aiming. The sportscar pulled back when Bo fired the arrow, but didn't stop. Immediately Jasper returned fire, and Vicki began swerving wildly to avoid their bullets. BANG! BANG! "Bo, get down!" Vicki shouted as she floored her powerful car. Surprised by Vicki wild reaction, Bo immediately got back into the mustang. Finally Vicki got to the main highway and turned onto it, with the black Trans-Am in full pursuit. She put her foot down to the floor and moved away from the other sportscar, speeding down the dirt road in front of them. Vicki sighed loudly as she saw 2 police cars in front of them in the distance...
  10. **Hello y'all. I hope that y'all are having a great morning. Due to busy work sechedule, I won't be on-line too much anymore. I'm sorry about that. But I'll still be around on occasion. ** ******** BANG! BANG! Jasper's wild shots just barely missed the black mustang as it hit a tree in front of them. Glancing back in the rearview mirror, then at Bo sitting out on the passenger side door, Vicki hissed in anger. "Now they have really made me mad!" "I know, sugar," said Bo as he slid back into the mustang. "I know." Picking up the cb mike he added, "I'm going to call Luke and see if he can cut that Trans-Am off the road." "Yeah, we need to get that creep off our tail," said Vicki angrily as she suerving across the road, trying to get out of Jasper's firing range.
  11. **In the black trans-am, Jasper was aiming his gun at Vicki's surving black mustang. "Dang! I can't get a clear shot! They keep surving across the road!" Jasper said uneasily under breath. Meanwhile, Vicki kept surving across the road, trying to avoid Jasper's shots. "Sugar, at the next dirt road you see, head cross country. We'll get out of range from Jasper's shots from there," Bo said urgently, placing a hand on Vicki's shoulder. "Sure, sugar. Hang on," said Vicki as she made a sharp right turn onto a dirt road. Unbuckling his seatbelt, Bo grabbed a hold of his bow & arrows. Glancing back, he noticed that the General Lee was coming up fast behind the black trans-am. "Hey, sugar. We're in luck! Luke is behind us!" "That's good to know, Bo," said Vicki as she sighed loudly as she picked up the Cb mike. "Little Red to Lost Sheep, are you there, Luke? Come back.".
  12. Not only that Vicki could hear some static in the background, but she could also hear Jack laughing excitedly. Vicki was feeling kind of dreamy, kind of warm and tingly inside, waiting for Jack to speak again. Until a moment ago, she hadn't realized how much she liked that deep, reasonating tone of his voice. The last time she heard a voice like that was her ex-husband's. "Vicki...how are you doing?" Jack asked, his question sounding strained, as if he'd been searching for something to say. He didn't know exactly how to tell her that he was coming to Georgia to convince her to move back to California with him. Vicki sensed that Jack was holding out on something to tell her. She didn't know exactly what it was, but she could tell that something was up. Jack seemed excited about something. "Jack, what is on your mind? You wouldn't be calling me if you didn't have something to tell me," Vicki said as she stared out the window, watching the light rain come down. Jack hestitated, just as he had when they met at a party, when it was their first night together. "SweetRed, maybe I'll just tell you when I get my nerve up to ask you."
  13. "Hello," Vicki said again as she heard a lot of static in the background. She knew that Jack must be far off or something. "I wonder why Katie called his cell phone?" Vicki thought to herself. "Evening, SweetRed," said Jack in a cheerful voice. The deep, familiar voice vibrated her insides. A smile touched her lips, and the giddy feeling slid all the way down to her toes. "Hello, Jack," Vicki said back into the cordless phone, slightly surprised that Jack had remembered the nickname that he gave her. "I'm happy to hear from you again, and to hear your voice again." Vicki inhaled deeply, hoping that she might be able to pick up the scent of his masculine cologne, and to picture him standing in front of her with his arms around her. "Too bad that Jack is too far away from me right now," Vicki thought. "How are you doing?" Jack asked, his question sounding stained, as if he'd been searching for something to say. All that he was been doing for the past week is searching inside his heart for exactly the right words to say to Vicki to convince her to move to California to be with him.
  14. Vicki looked at the cordless phone that Katie was holding in her hand. "I guess that I could be courteous. Maybe even friendly. Maybe all Jack wants to do is say hello. He wasn't all too happy with me when he went back to California a couple of weeks ago. He was wanting me to go with him then..." Vicki thought as she took the cordless phone away from Katie then added in a bright, cheerful voice, "Hello." ********* Meanwhile on a crowded airplane that was heading south, Jack stared at the cordless airplane phone that he was holding in his right hand. He had been debating on calling Vicki about telling her about his 'surprise' visit to see her, but he decided to keep it quite a 'surprise'. Hoping that it wasn't a mistake & costing him a fortune using his credit card, Jack dialed Vicki's phone number...
  15. They made it through the booking office without any problems. Just as they were coming out of the building, Cletus could be seen barely in the distance heading towards them as he walked around the corner. "Oh, great!" muttered Vicki angrily as she watched Cletus walking towards them then added, "If he sees me helping y'all escape, Rosco will have my hide. That means that he'll make me work on Valantine's Day when I was wanting it off!" Bo put his arm around Vicki's shoulder as he whispered into her ear, "Don't worry, sugar. Rosco will never know that you helped us escape." "Rosco better not find out," Vicki said as she laid her redhead slightly in the crook of Bo's arm around her shoulder. Glancing at Cletus heading towards them then back at Luke, Bo added, "What do we do, Luke?" Luke glanced around. "Let's get into the bushes. Maybe Cletus won't see us hiding in there." --->Bo, Luke, Cooter, and Vicki jumped into the bushes just before Cletus came up to them. Sure enough, Cletus didn't notice them at all as he walked past them and into the Courthouse. Luke was right, Cletus didn't noticed them at all. "What do we do now?" Bo asked as he glanced around in the blinding snow then added, "We can't stay here in the open. It's too cold out here, and Rosco and Boss could show back up at any minute." "Let's head to the garage. Maybe Rosco won't start snooping there until y'all are long gone," said Cooter as he, Luke, Bo, and Vicki started running fast in the blind snow towards the garage.
  16. BALLADEER: "Uh-oh, y'all. Things can't get any worse, can they?" What seemed like forever, Vicki finally found her stashed jail cell keys, and was now in the process of getting the jail cell door open, and freeing Bo and Luke. Seconds later, she finally managed to get the jail cell door open. "Thanks, sugar," said Bo as he rushed to Vicki, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek. "Yeah, thanks, Vicki. At least you and Cooter are on our side," said Luke giving Vicki a light hug, then added as he patted Cooter on the back, "Thanks, Cooter." "You can thank us later as soon as we get back to my garage. We need to get out of here before Cooter finds out that y'all escaped," said Cooter as he led the way up the staircase...
  17. "Sugar, when did you stash my bow and arrows in here?" Bo asked surprised, hanging on as Vicki started to suvered across the road, hoping that Jasper will misjudge his shots at them. "Early this morning right before I shuck-n-jived Jasper," said Vicki as she drove down a wooded road that would lead to the state highway in about 3 miles. Jasper fired again at the speeding mustang in front of him. BANG! BANG! The Trans-Am was rapidly gaining on them. "Vicki, they're coming up fast behind us," Bo said as he looked behind him. "Do you think that you can take a shortcut to Pecan Creek Road Intersection? We should be able to put Jasper's car out of commission there, If you remember what I told you in the past about jumping your car over creeks." Bo grinned sheepishly at his fiancee'. As Vicki was about to answer, Jasper fired another shot at the speeding mustang. BANG! BANG! The wild shot just barely missed Bo as it hit the back windshield.
  18. Just as Vicki turned the key to start her car, Jasper and his gang burst out of the cabin, and jumped into their Trans-Am. Watching Jasper and his gang, Vicki started her engine and took off fast, knowing that the crooks would be after them soon. Vicki concentrated on her driving, knowing that they would be safe in just a few miles. Looking over at Bo as she drove, Vicki smiled, remembering what she had stashed in the back seat...Bo's bow and arrows. "Sugar, do me a favor and get in the back seat for me. "I have a surprise that you might like to help us get out of this mess," she said as the first gunshots by Jasper were fired. BANG! BANG!
  19. Vicki made a face. She couldn't believe that Jack had actually bought her a plane ticket to California. "Katie, I don't know if I can do this." Katie picked up Vicki's cordless phone. "You can, sugar, and you will. You have to go on with your life." Vicki looked at what Katie was doing. She had a funny feeling in her heart that she knew what it was. "I knew that I should have kept my mouth shut about the whole thing," she mumbled as she watched Katie talk into the cordless phone. "Hello...Jack, this is Katie." Vicki looked wide-eyed at her best friend. "Not him now," Vicki said quietly as she notice that Katie was smiling at her. "Vicki, the best way to break the ice," Katie said with a smile, "Is to tell an old friend hello."
  20. Within a few seconds, they were safely outside the cabin. Grabbing Bo's hand, Vicki took off at a dead run towards the shelter of the trees, and then towards her black mustang. Bo stumbled a bit due to lack of circulation in his legs, but Vicki pulled him along until they reached the relative safety of Vicki's mustang. "Bo, do you think that they know by now that we escaped?" Vicki asked as she gazed over her shoulder while retrieving the key from her pocket. "Probably by now, sugar," Bo said as he looked behind him. ********** Meanwhile... Back at the cabin, Jasper and his gang returned. Fuming, Jasper looked around and found that Bo and Vicki were no where to be seen. "Lucy, come here! There's something wrong!" Jasper barked loudly. "What is it, sweetie?" Lucy asked as she walked to Jasper's side. "I knew that I couldn't trust that redhead," said Jasper angrily as he walked over to the chair where Bo sat earlier then added after looking at the cut ropes, "She let our captive escape. Let's go after them!"
  21. Bo just stared at the redhead as he watched Vicki free him from the chair. He couldn't believe that Vicki shuck-n-jived Jasper like that. He couldn't believe that Vicki had talked Jasper out of hurting him. "You okay, Bo?" Vicki asked as she untangle the ropes off Bo's arms. "Yeah, you're quite a sweet lady from being a crook one minute to being my resurer the next minute," said Bo as he smiled gratefully at the redhead. "I don't know what I would do without you in my life sometimes." "Bo, you've always told me in the past that I was your guardian angel." "That is true, sugar. That is true," Bo said as he smiled at Vicki. Vicki just smiled back at Bo as she continued to tug at the ropes around his wrists. At last, the rope finally loosened enough. Vicki gingerly pulled the rope off Bo's wrists. "There! Sugar, you're free!" said Vicki as she giggled happily. The exclamation was a surprise from Vicki, as Bo felt the thin ropes loosen, then sag over his wrists. Awkardly, Bo leaned against Vicki for a minute, then painfully straightened his stiff shoulder joints to rotate his arms back to a more natural position. "Thanks, sugar." Bo said, rubbing his wrists to restore circulation. "You're welcome, sweetheart. I'll feel better after we get out of here!" said Vicki worriedly as she gingerly rubbed Bo's right wrist. "Same here, Sugar. We need to get out of here now! Let's go!" said Bo excitedly grabbing Vicki's hand as they headed towards the front door of the cabin.
  22. "Sure you can, Vicki. Jack is going to adore you when he sees you again," Katie told her. "Yeah, but it has been only a couple of weeks since we have seen each other," Vicki said as she complained to Katie. "Has he called you?" Coy asked as he got into the conversation. "Well, he has called me only a couple of times," Vicki said as she sat down in a wing chair by the window. "Is that Bad?" Coy asked. "At least y'all have talked to each other. Jack seemed nice to me when he called here the other night looking for ya." "Jack called here looking for me?" Vicki said surprised as she glared at Katie and Coy. Katie nodded her head. "Yeah, Vicki, Jack really wants to see you again. In fact, he's the one that sent us the money for you to fly out to California to see him."
  23. After a few minutes, Cooter and Vicki walked downstairs. "Cooter, are you sure about this?" Vicki asked questioningly. "Suppose Cletus comes back or if Rosco and Boss walks in on us?" "Vicki...even though this is your day off, I'm sure that you'll come up with something to tell Rosco," said Cooter as he stepped out of the way as he watched Vicki unlock the door that led to the jail cells. Flash barked at Cooter and Vicki when she saw them, but hushed when Cooter started petting her. Vicki, meanwhile, was looking for the keys that were supposedly on the wall. "Sugar, did you try looking for the keys inside your old desk?" Bo asked as he watched the redhead look for the jail cell keys. Vicki smiled widely at Bo. "That's an idea, sugar. I haven't been here that much lately to use my desk, but maybe it is in my stash hole." "I hope so, Vicki," Luke said into the conversation. "Cletus just pulled up outside."
  24. Meanwhile... Knowing that Jasper and his gang were outside talking about what they're going to do next, Vicki was busy trying to slice through the ropes bounding Bo to the chair. "Sugar, I knew that you had to be shuck-n-jiving them," Bo said breathing a sigh of relief. Bo had tried to get out of the ropes, but his struggles had only tightened them more. Vicki giggled as she used Bo's dull pocketknife to slice through the ropes. "Bo! Sugar, sit still! I can't get at that rope if you keep moving! If you keep moving, I'm liable to cut you somewhere!" Bo stopped moving in his chair. "Just hurry, sweet angel! They'll be in here any minute!"
  25. "Vicki, do you remember that night a few months back where you met Jack at a Dance Club in Atlanta?" asked Katie. Vicki looked wide-eyed at Katie then nodded as she sank down in the nearest wing chair. "Yeah, I remember that night well. It was actually my first night that I was single again." "What I remember about that night, was how Jack came up to you. I think that the way you looked that night took his breath away," said Katie as she walked over to Vicki, giving her a sincere smile. Vicki giggled slightly, but then frowned. "I wonder what he will do if I looked like that again? Maybe I'll be humiliated if I tried to look like that again." "There isn't going to be any humiliation," Katie said earnestly. "You're a very attractive woman, Vicki. He's going to adore you when he sees you again." Vicki slumped back in her chair. She drew in a deep breath--maybe it was too late to prevent that from happening. She then walked over to her halltree chest and looked at a recent picture of her and Jack with their arms around each other. She then sighed loudly. "Maybe I can do this."
