  1. Smallville is one of the most intelligent, edgy, and exciting show on television today. And it's not just for kids . . . it can't be, because I'm 30something and I watch religiously, not to mention owning seasons one and two on DVD. The cast's interaction with each other is something that I haven't seen since ER or maybe Hill St Blues . . . and the lighting is amazing. Very few tv shows today pay attention to such minute details, but its obvious that the creators of the show know they have something special.
  2. *laughing heartily* You guys are the most eloquent bunch of posters I've ever had the pleasure of being around, and I applaud you all for words. I also agree with you . . . The Dukes are for anyone to enjoy, north or south, black white, red, young and old. And just to add as a PS: If this southern gentleman Sway thinks being from the south is to have been stolen from and maligned . . . he should come on over to the reservation sometime and have a talk with my people. Every culture has a story to tell, but we must remember that the past is the past, and that it is the future that's important.
  3. I LOVE that song!!! I grew up right in the 70's and early 80's . . . and when he sings that line about "My first love was Daisy Duke! . . . . in cutoff jeans." I almost died laughing. That's a great song. OH and The Dukes are also mentioned in Dierks Bentley's song "What Was I Thinkin'." He sings, "We ran outside hood slidin' like Bo Duke . . . " I had the pleasure of meeting Dierks at a concert this year, and when I asked him about that line, he said he put it in cos he's a big fan of the show. Cool, huh? 8)
  4. Brian, While I certainly wouldn't like to see other people playing Jesse and Boss, the second tv Movie "Hazzard in Hollywood" still worked without Jesse's and Boss's presence. I think if scripted properly, a third tv movie would still be better than a big screen, washed-out version of our beloved Dukes. A General Lee with no flag? How is that a General at all? Granted, the flag didn't make The General what it was, but it was still a big part of his image! Hollywood is so concerned about being PC that it's going to wring out all of the original flavor of the show. What's going to be left, I think, is a pale movie parody of The Dukes that's going to go to video a week after it opens. And while it would be great to see a new generation of Dukes fans, I think they'd be better off watching the DVDs to see Gy Waldron's true vision of the show. The original is always the best. I say these words not to cause a stir or to be combatative, but how many good tv shows have been taken by Hollwood and turned into awful 'big screen' disasters? I would so hate to see that happen to The Dukes. I hope I'm proven wrong in the end, but I have a bad feeling about what they're going to Bo and Luke. Guess I'm just a purist, LOL. Oh well, I guess we'll see when the movie comes out.
  5. FYI moderators, there's a broken link on the episode rewrite page. Hop Skip and a Hogg works, but The Heiress gives me a "Page cannot be found" error. Maybe you're working on it or are aware of the problem, just wanted to give you a heads up about it.
  6. After having read the challenge section of this board posted by the mods, I have to say there are some REALLY great ideas there! I especially like the photo challenge and may try that myself if time permits. I'm a college student, so time is a luxury for me, or will be in a few weeks when school starts, LOL. Anyway, I was wondering- would it be possible to maybe have a forum where the writers themselves can post challenge ideas for their fellow writers? It seems like you guys are all so talented and full of ideas, surely some of you out there have had challenge ideas. I just think it might be fun to see if the writers themselves have any ideas of that kind. Any thoughts on this? It's just an idea . . . . This seems like such a great community and a lovely forum. You all seem like real nice folks. Hope to get to know some of you better in the future. Sincerely, NDNoutlaw 8)
  7. Being new to this board, I'm not sure how much of my opinion I should put forth, but . . . it seems to me like this movie is just another attempt to cash in on 80's nostalgia. I'm a bit of a purist though, and it seems to me like the producers and creators of The Dukes would endear themselves to us more if they made another original tv movie. It would probably go over better than a big screen version with actors we've never heard of or heard of in passing. (IE Jessica Simpson) Wouldn't you rather see John, Tom, Jimmy and Sonny in another movie than see other people play them? Granted, the last two movies were pretty poorly scripted, but they were basically good fun and I for one would rather see a well written tv movie than go to the movies and see other people play the characters that I've loved for over 20 years. It just won't be the same without them, and this is one Dukes fan you won't see standing in line at the box office. 8)
  8. Greetings, y'all! I'm new to Hazzard, glad to meet you all! Because my computer still has a snail's-pace 56 K modem, I can't watch all of this video, but what I've seen is GREAT! Nice to see John step outside of that wholesome image once in awhile. LOL. I look forward to talking to all of you, seems like a great community.
