  1. I do the same thing when I write. I had an English teacher that encouraged the use of music in our writing. When we handed in a story or poem to him, we had to hand in a playlist as well. (What he did with it, I have no idea). I find that having a playlist or soundtrack to write to helps me out with writer's block and gives me inspiration for character motivation and plot.

I don't think that would be weird at all. I do it a lot in my writing to set the mood. A lot of times I will put like a little prologue to the story that is lyrics from a song or a few lines from a poem. I think that it is a strategy that if used properly can definitely add to a story.

  2. I like Days of Shine and Roses, just watched it the other day! I like how it has a bit of a flashback to the days when Jesse and Boss used to run shine. My favorite part of that episode is when Jesse is tearing around in the field in the mustang Cooter gave him. I think that it really represents the legacy of the ridge runners and how good driving to Jesse is like falling off a bike, you never forget! lol

I give 'Days Of Shine & Roses' 4 out of 5. There were some inconsistent things going on during the race that after about the 3rd time watching it, started to bug me. Other than that, it's a great episode!

I just watched my all-time favourite episode ever! Limo One Is Missing!! :D

I really like the plot of this episode because it goes smoothly from the beginning action, (Cooter stealing the President's car) to the boys getting blamed, (Bo: "There couldn't have been more than a gallon of gas in that can." Luke: "In a one gallon can, no kidding!") to the blowing up of Boss' chop shop and returning the limo. And how they were able to pull off such a plot is in my mind, something to be admired as well! They were able to take a totally ridiculous situation and make it work.

This is also one of the funnier episodes in the first season as well. Just the fact that the President's car is MIA is funny enough, but also some of the lines (like the gas can one) make the episode flow. And Bo's hiccups (OMG! so funny!) they sort of pull the episode together, so many things are going on, and Bo's hiccups are the only thing staying constant, tying the show together.

There isn't a lot of the General in this episode except for right off the start when the boys are distracting the federal dudes. But it is nice to see Daisy being the skinner for once! (Besides, her Roadrunner is a good looking car too!)

So I give 'Limo One Is Missing' 7 out of 5! (for all the reasons listed above and the fact that it is my all-time favourite Dukes of Hazzard episode ever!)

  3. Haha thanks for the boost Roger! I am almost scared to think of what the Dukes would do... If it weren't for the few episodes that actually show them riding horses, I'd say that they'd be lost without a steering wheel and a gas pedal! lol

I still think I'd be better at riding Broncs or Bulls or something since I spend all my time in a saddle breaking horses, but the parents wouldn't go for it :( .. lol. That's probably for the best. Don't wanna go break something and not be able to work during the week ;). That would just be terrible... lol

  4. I like that too. I think that it's good that they are sticking with something that they have done for years no matter what the government says. Then again, I'm not exactly a lover of the government ;)

Ok, so I'm getting sidetracked here because I just found out that the first rodeo of the season up here is April 23-25!! So excited!! I'm going to go and try my hand at Team Roping competitively. I've done a lot of roping out in the pasture with 60-foot loops, but not a whole lot of fast competitive stuff... lol.. So it should be interesting..

  5. Don't feel bad Roger, cause I like the second worst team in the NHL, the Edmonton Oilers. LOL. But they were doing good off the start of the season, then everything fell apart in about December... But there will always be next season!

So excited for baseball season! GO JAYS!! WOOT-WOOT! And the Outlaws! (My hometown Wheat Belt League team!) The Outlaws won the Wheat Belt League last year... But now Tom the pitcher went to university in Ontario and won't be around and Nolan the 2nd baseman got a job down in southern Alberta... So who knows what this summer's gonna bring! lol

And I really need to get into Nascar! I like driving fast, I like watching things go fast, I don't really understand why I ain't into it! lol

  6. Almost as good as hockey? *shocked look* Nothing is better than baseball...or NASCAR. HA HA. My opinion of course. Am not a hockey fan, guess I never took the time to sit down and watch it or to understand the sport. Though being a Cubs fan, I will not hold it against ya. ;) GO CUBS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!! KHEE! Oh I am with you one hundred precent...am so excited for baseball season to start up.

Well I'm Canadian, so a love of hockey is bred right into me! lol.. Plus it helps that my cousin has season tickets to the Edmonton Oilers right on the guest blue-line and at the glass ;).

My bf went to a Jays game last summer when they played Boston... I told him he should take me with him, but I had to work and everyone else I work with was gone. :( But he brought me back a cap, so it was all good! :D

That's another thing I'd do if I won the lottery... Buy season tickets to the Edmonton Oilers and the closest MLB team, which would be... umm... Seattle? Yeah, Seattle's closest... Actually, I'd probably just make a few trips down to Toronto and watch my own team play!! LOL
