Enos shook his head "Doc if it will hurt her to be off . . .keep her on it. . .I just. . .I don't even know what to say right now."

(I know I'm the shortest of all my friends cept for one. . .she's an inch shorter than me. . .you're an inch shortern' my mom.) Luke laid a hand on her shoulder "That's why we want to help you."

Enos nodded "Does she have to be on it? I'm afraid for her right now."

"Well he better leave you alone." Luke said. (wow. . .how tall you? I said before I'm only 4"9' so they are so tall compared to me.)

Enos looked to Doc "Is there possibly some medical issue making her like this?"

Enos sighed, but said nothing as he had no intention of keeping that promise.

"He said what to you?!" Luke cried "That jerk!"

"What exactly do you mean by that?" Enos asked almost afraid to hear the answer.

"What's the matter baby?" Uncle Jesse, who was fixing lunch asked.

"Lily, please." Enos begged eventhough he had a hunch it was no use.

Lily looked away from him and said nothing. Enos looked at Doc, hurt in his eyes.

Enos took her into his arms "I know you're scared what they'll say, but it's our only hope." "Ok." Daisy nervously agreed. Soon they arrived at the old farm.

"Well you and Mama can pass 'em I'm out. . .I hate him." Enos nearly choked "Lily, he does, you ju-" "No he doens't daddy."

The boys only nodded and Roscoe tied LD up before they made their escape.

"Atleast I'd be one less you'd have to care for. You and Mama . . .I'm the last thing you need." Lily said.

Despite the fact that Enos could've passed out he smiled at Daisy's brave action.

"Well maybe I ought to leave. . .y'all would be a lot happier." Lily sobbed.

"Yes I am daddy." Lily said. . ."Eversince you got me nothing but bad things have happend to me, you, mama and my brothers and sisters."

"Well?" LD laughed looking like he could've died from laughter.

Lily tried to break free from Doc's grip "But why do you? I'm bad luck for everyone."

LD roared with laughter "Yeah right. What on earth are you going to do Daisy?"

Lily then did a strange thing. While the two watched she hit herself a few times "Stupid stupid stupid. . .why on earth anyone would love me."

"Yeah right." LD spat "Y'all are the most pathetic pair I ever seen in my life. I mean me and Daisy could run this town bettern' you two and when I say that I mean me. . .I'd of had Boss and all y'all out of my way."

Enos swallowed and nodded silently. All the thoughts flowed through his head.
