  1. Lori smiled, kissing his cheek. "Love. Luke, I've always had a thing for you since we were kids. You're strong, independent, serious, sensitive. There's plenty of reasons that I could name off all day Luke. Despite the reputation you had around here with women, I saw past it, Sometimes Luke, you're so predictable, I can read you like a book I've read a hundred times over... sometimes, you're so mysterious that you have no clue what you'll do next." She paused a minute to think. "I put up with someone like you because you don't try t' be something your not Luke. You're an honest man, and very caring, You're true to your word and are trustworthy." She took one of his hands running her fingers over the calloused lines. "A hard worker, a farmer.. Luke any woman would be stupid enough not to be in love with someone like you."
  2. Lori sighed a little in frustration pushing her hair out of her eyes. "Luke, I don't know how many times I gotta profess my love to ya...It's every time I smile at a guy or even say hi or glance his way...you make the accusation that we was or was going to flirt.." She spoke to him in a soft tone. "Trust me...I've never given you a reason before not t' trust me.."
  3. Lori held her hands up in an "I surrender" manner. "Cool it chico, I wasn't flirting with him at all, not one word did i say that was flirtatious in any manner." Lori pointed it out to him in self defense. "Jealous much? What made it any different than when you flirted with other girls?"
  4. Luke nodded a little shaking his hand gently. "Much obliged sir.." He glared at Lori scowling. "Don't even think about it or I'll push you outta the bed." Lori looked at Luke, then to the young doctor grinning. "You wouldn't dare..." Luke narrowed his eyes at her in a serious look. "Wouldn't I?" Lori swallowed the lump in her throat and nodded a little. "Ok ok ok...I'll leave the nice young man alone."
  5. He was young to. Lori grinned a little, but looked down at Luke. She had her man, which meant she couldn't even flirt like she usually would. "Well Mr..whoever you are, you've come to the right room...this stud right here would be Mr. Duke." She grinned from ear to ear at Luke.
  6. Hearing a deep smooth voice such as the one that spoke, Lori poked her head up searching the man from which the bass tone came from. "May we help you?"
  7. Lori nodded, smiling contentedly at him. "Yeap and no one else's..." Looking deeply into his cerulean eyes, Lori's imperial purple ones closed half way leaning in to kiss him tenderly.
  8. Lori looked at him blankly. "I'm crazy...AND dumb!" She stated, shaking her head. "Not to mention meaner than a stripped snake to boot."
  9. Lori grinned, looking at her hand. "This was my own stupidity, not your fault, if I had a brain instead of empty space in my head I wouldn't have hit the danged wall and I woulda went to my corner."
  10. Lori smiled stretching out, relaxing beside of him on the bed. Propping up her head with her hand, she chuckled lightly. "So you like it when I fight back then?" She questioned a bit perplexed as to why he would.
  11. Lori nodded, sighing a little. She laid her head down on his bed, looking up at him. "I do too... Though you'd think by now I would've gotten some sense in my head to shut up and just leave things be..."
  12. Lori smiled lightly, walking slowly over to the bed. "Hey there darlin'..." Sitting down in the seat, she scooted it closer to the bed, looking down at the floor, she felt more ashamed than anything.
  13. Lori smiled at her wise mentor, shutting the hood of Midnight Rider. Looking back at Jesse, smiling once more, she climbed in the window of the black stock car and started the powerful V-8, pulling out. Upon her arrival at the hospital, Lori had done some thinking on the road. She knew she had a helluva long way to go before she matured, she was young and didn't really have have the sense that God promised a turkey. Lori knew she had a short temper and knew she almost always acted on impulse, she wasn't the nicest person in the world either. But, Lori would admit, she has came a long way since her childhood days. Letting out a huff of air before she even attempted to walk inside, Lori braced herself. She didn't know what kind of mood he'd be in when she went into his room, and was praying for the best! Walking in to the hospital at a leisurely gate, Lori strolled down the hall way and to the elevator. Feeling it pull her up then coming to a stop, Lori walked out going down to his room. Hesitantly, she reached for the doorknob slowly opening the door up. Stepping in to the room she leaned her side against the wall, crossing her arms over her chest, one ankle crossed over the other in a relaxed position.
  14. Lori looked blankly at Jesse, her tone serious. "Would you rather me hit him or the wall?" Though, she'd never hit Luke, there was time she felt like slugging him for his bull headiness and arrogance.
  15. Lori gasped a little, looking appalled. "Pull anymore stupid stu--" She paused throwing her good hand up in the air,"It was his fault I did this in the first place! If he wouldn't be a stubborn jacka** I'd still have my left hand right now as we speak..."
  16. Lori sighed a little, raising up from in under the hood of the black charger. "M'sorry Uncle Jesse..." She apologised softly. Shaking her head slowly, she jerked out her rag from her back pocket wiping the oil smudges from her face and hands. "What brings ya by here?" Lori asked in a much cooler and calmer voice.
  17. Lori muttered under her breath, not bringing her head out from in under the hood of the car. "Just fine." She spat in a snippy tone, not intending to sound rude or hateful towards the wise old man.
  18. Sticking to his word like he said he would, after hanging up the phone, Jesse grabbed his old red hunting cap and headed out the door to his pick up. Starting up the truck, Jesse pulled out heading to the garage. At the garage, Lori was grumbling and muttering still about the heated debate her and Luke had, though she didn't have but one good hand to work with, Lori vigorously tightened a bolt in under the hood of Midnight Rider, each twist, came a threat out of her mouth at Luke.
  19. Jesse sighed a little as he picked up the phone, wondering what possibly could have happened to him. "Jesse speakin."
  20. Within a few moments, there was a man coming through Luke's door to help him in to bed. Going over to him the nurse, as if he had done it all his life, easily lifted Luke up out of the chair and into the bed. Fixing Luke's pillows and his covers, the nurse wheeled his chair over to a corner. "There ya go sir."
  21. Lori grated out the words she spoke next, it was more to herself than anything. "If you god forsaken men wouldn't care so much about your pride...I wouldn't hit them.." Walking out, Lori looked at the prescription, it was pain killers. She sighed shoving the piece of paper in her pocket.
