His Prison, Her Prison pt. 2

But once more the feeling of being trapped and not being in control plauged Bo's mind. He heard the instruction but his mind was not willing to co operate with it, too focused on fighting the intrusion in the throat and keeping the surge of emotions running through the young man. Jesse couldn't stop the tears that rolled down old cheeks as Bo fought against the restraints on his wrists, it pained him to have to pin Bo's hands to the bed to stop him digging the cold metal once more into bandages and flesh. He didn't want to be stern, he didn't want to have to appear as the strict Uncle he could be after four years of ignoring his youngest, but if something didnt change drastically Bo was going to hurt himself. Using a tone he hadn't had to use in four years, the old 'You will obey me without question' tone and look, he spoke sharply to Bo. "Beaureguard Duke you stop this right now!" Bo looked up startled, his body falling limp underneath Jesse's hold. How long had it been since he had heard that from his Uncle....how long had he missed that. He still coughed a little, but he had stopped fighting so hard. "Right....now....you just calm yerself down because, sick or no, i'll switch ya from here ta Hazzard and into Chickasaw in front o'all these people...." Bo fought the tears welling in his eyes and forced himself to listen to what Jesse was saying, listen once more to the older man's soothing breathing, feel the old hand in his, slowly calming himself, instinctivly obeying what Jesse told him. -

After a short while, Bo managed to keep himself calm with Jesse's coaching, following his soothing breathing to aid him. Micheals smiled as Bo relaxed and gently patted his shoulder. "Well Done.....that's real good. Okay...now I need ya to remain like this while I slip this down yer throat. You may feel it a little but the important thing is ya dont panic....I'm right here and I ain't gonna let nothing happen to you...alright?" Bo nodded gently, keeping his mouth open, not trusting himself to close it just in case he never opened it again through fear. He listened harder to jesse's breathing and closed his eyes as he saw the Doc mover over his head, focusing on the soothing breathing to keep him calm. -

Bo wavered a little bit on the humerous order. Everything that the doctor's were doing were making him nervous and upset. He didn't like the fact that he was cuffed to the railing of the bed, which meant he wasn't in control at all....the doctors could do anything to him they liked without asking him. He couldn't escape, couldn't stop the doctors doing anything he didnt want them to. Jesse felt the hand grip tighter and his heart ache as he saw Bo desperatly turn his head away, not wanting to go through with anything else, seeing the frightened, little boy look in his eyes. He directed said gaze up to meet his own and smiled softly. "It's alright Bo....just do as the Doc says fer me and it'll all be over soon...." Bo shook his head tearfully, too afraid to open his mouth to speak incase the doc did something sneaky. with a gentle sigh, Jesse leaed over the railings and softly ran his hand soothingly along Bo's jaw. "C'mon Bo....i'll be right here with ya....yer gonna be okay Bo....Uncle jesse's here...." -

The nurse rushed off to find the doctor's to preform the tests, not one person who came in the room questioned who this guy was or what he was doing. He was a doctor and seemed to know the most out of everyone what was happening with Bo. Jesse held Bo tight as he strted to stir again as someone started jolting the bed. He looked up to find himself moving and started to breath havily in panic. "W...what's goin' on...what's happenin'..." Jesse was quick to grasp Bo's locked down hand and jog alongside the now moving bed. "S'alright Bo...they's just gonna take ya down to the lab fer some tests is all....just ta see what's goin' on in that body o'yers....ya gotta be brave fer me boy....we'll all be right here....we ain't goin' no where...." -

Cooter sighed and put his face in his hands, before he heard a voice call out to Enos and he looked up again, frowning slightly as Enos jumped up and ran to the guy, furiously shaking his hand. "Oh thank god...Doc Micheals..." The Doc smiled and shook his hand quickly back, before once more striding down the corridor with Enos. "What's the update?" Enos ran off what had been happening since Bo had been brought in, the part about blood being coughed up making the doctor's eyebrow arch and he nodded before walking swiftly into Bo's room, calling out loudly for a doctor to get in here with him. -

Cooter watched, swallowing back his own tears as Jesse was when they heard Bo's agaonised plea break from the sobbing throat. "Please don't go....please Uncle Jesse don't go....don't wanna be alone again....please...." Uncle Jesse shook his head and held him closer, kissing the top of Bo's head tenderly. "I ain't going no where, I promise. I ain't never gonna let you suffer alone again...." It was then that Cooter noticed the cuffs that were holding Bo's arms down, not allowing him to recipricate the hug to his Uncle. Cooter could tell Bo wanted to cling to Jesse and never let go again, otherwise he wouldn't have been sobbing out the plea he just had done. He looked over to Enos, gesturing to the cuffs but Enos just sadly shook his head mouthing the reason they were on him. For a long time, nothing else filled the room except the sounds of Bo's frantic sobbing, no reassurance being taken from anyone's whispered words or the comforting hold Jesse had on him. It only stopped when Bo finally cried himself to sleep almost a half hour later and Jesse was able to gently guide him back down into the soft pillows. -

By the time the trio managed to reach Bo's room, the young man was nothing but a sobbing, trembling wreck. He was so deeply terrified by what was happening and the fact that no one else seemed to be able to tell him either didn't help matters at all. Bo wanted nothing more than to feel the love from his older cousin that he didn't deserve. He wanted Luke's arms wrapped around him, wanted to hear Luke's voice whisper soft words into his hair and reassure him everything would be okay. It didnt matter what anyone else said, as lonmg as Luke said it that was what mattered. Jesse was straight to Bo's side and had his arms wrapped round his youngest in an instant, cursing the cuffs that held Bo's arms down like a common criminal. This wasn't right, and Jesse hated the fact that he himself had abandoned Bo to this kind of treatment without a seconds hesitation. He rocked the young man gently in his arms, whispering as soothingly as he could through his own slight fear. -

Enos swallowed and closed his eyes briefly before running back to Bo's room, seeing the young man sobbing gently, unable to hide his face because his wrists were still cuffed to the bed. Enos crossed over and wrapped his arms round his friend's shoulders, gently rocking him. "S'gonna be alright Bo....s'gonna be alright..." Bo shook his head but made no move to speak, too upset and unsure of himself to allow that. Enos though knew what he needed. "I'll go get yer family Bo...don't you worry aint nothin' gonna happen....I'll be back as soon as I can." With that, Enos swiftly ran out the room and down the corridors, getting to Luke's room in record time and skidding through the doors panting. "Go...see...Bo...needs....you....now..." -

Cooter grinned and winked down at Luke. "Ain't nothin' that can keep ya down fer too long ain't there?" Luke chuckled and shook his head, thankful for Cooter's much needed humour at the moment. Everyone was so tense, which wasn't something he was used to from his family. Cooter stood in silence for a moment before saying to Luke again. "Tell ya what buddy roe, its been mighty quiet and I's been pressed for buisness without you and Bo tearin' round in General Lee....I's been keepin' him tuned fer ta....when ya can drive again..." Luke nodded, the smile fading from his face a little. At the moment he didn't know if he could ever drive again, heck he couldn't even walk yet and he still might not be able to, and there was no doubt that Bo probably wouldn't be driving him for some time to come either. Even with a statement from Luke saying what had happened, it would still take a long time for it to be processed, then put through the courts and the legal proceedings....Bo wouldn't be able to stay in the hospital for very long...eventually he would have to go back to the prison...the very thought of that made Luke feel sick to his stomach. Because he hadn't been careful enough to think that Bo maybe startled if he entered the room, tied up or no, he had gotten hurt because Bo was defending himself and now Bo was paying for his mistake. However, he didn't spend long dwelling on the subject, he had done that enough recently. Instead he turned his attention back to Cooter who was now telling tales of Rosco and Boss' exploits in Hazzard without the Dukes there to stop the plans. The bank had been 'robbed' 5 times over the years and Boss collected the insurance for it all, things of Boss' were going randomly missing and people's farm's being bought out from under them. People had begun to say that Hazzard just wasn't safe with the law around, they needed the Duke boys back because they were more of a sherriff's department on their own than the one Hazzard currently had. -

Back in Bo's room, the young man was finding it increasingly more difficult to hold back the nausea that was raging as Enos spoke softly to him. Eventually though, even Enos could see his struggle and quickly rose to nab a plastic tray and hold it as Bo lurched forward and threw what little contents he had in his stomch up into the tray, his stomach clenching painfully as he did. Enos leant over and bashed the Call Nurse button situated beside Bo's bed, He was thankful his friend wasn't in pain anymore and that Luke and the family weren't there to see Bo like thsi...the doc has said back in the jail to be sure to tell him if Bo threw up....did this apply here? He didn't care, all he knew is that was what he had been told and that was what he intended to do... -

Luke looked a little happier at the prospect of being able to see Bo soon....it didnt really feel like it had been 4 years since he had seen him, he only really felt like he had just woken up from a short nap, but just a few minutes away from Bo was enough to make him feel lonely...even if he did have Daisy and jesse. He was a little disturbed at the fact that his skull seemed to be in fragments in his brain, but he felt fine so he didnt see why they should be a problem to him just now. he had survived a war where he had seen far worse injuries than this, so this was really nothing to him. Daisy however, took it a little worse although she composed herself very well. The grip on Luke's hand tightened considerably though which told Luke exactly what she was feeling. Jesse too looked a little pale. -

Bo blinked a little bit, the nausea starting to grow a little bit. However, his mind may have been a little fuzzy from the painkillers but the fact that Enos didn't say told them or said to them didn't get past him. "What d'ya mean...communicated?" Enos shifted uncomofrtably, he hadn't meant to get Bo worked up. "Uh....Bo I can't...I ain't allowed ta tell ya what's goin' on with Luke....ya's have ta wait until they all get here ta see ya....regulations..." This was actually one time he was glad for the regulations that were placed upon him as one of Bo's guards, voulentary of course. The horrible thing was that now Bo's wrists had been stitched and bandages wrapped once more tightly around them....the fact he was in a public place meant that once more....the cuffs has been snapped back on... Bo sighed and closed his eyes, counting slowly to 10 to try and halt the flow of nausea that was rising...and he wasn't entirly sure it was because if his illness either....he hadn't even considered the fact that he had hit Luke hard on his head....hadn't considered the fact that there could be brain damage.... -

Daisy softly nuzzled into Luke's soothing touches that she had missed for so long. When he softly handed her the note though, she couldn't contain it anymore. She put her hand to her mouth and sobbed chokingly, moving forward to lay her head on the bed next to Luke, folding her arms underneath her head. She didn't know how anyone could love her after what she had done. She was the one who had convinced Uncle Jesse that Bo had to have been guilty, even though he didn't really believe Bo was so. She had pushed and pushed and put her Uncle through so much emotional pain only to discover that she had been wrong all the time, cause her uncle to lose faith in Bo and to go against what the bible had said to him all the years that they had lived with him. Jesse watched as Daisy broke down and softly leant over to rub the top of her head as soothingly as she could. He knew why she was feeling so guilty. "Daisy...you didn't push me inta believing anything...this was an old man's mistake...." -

Jesse knew that Luke could see there was something more going on with Bo than they were letting on but he refused to worry Luke further by telling him everything else. That wasn't what Luke needed to hear and Daisy definatly didn't need to hear it again either. everytime someone brought it up, Daisy seemed to get that little more distant, less focused and more diving into herself. Daisy listened as Jesse explained and just nodded along with what was being said, taking Luke's hand, needing to feel the reassuring comfort of his grip on her, something she had missed and needed for the past four years....she needed it so badly now. she couldn't get the usual comfort from Luke advice and words of knowledge because he couldn't say anything so this was going to have to be the best she could get. -

Luke noticed as Daisy shuffled through all the paper, how horribly quiet it had gotten. He had been used to, when he woke up, Daisy and Jesse chatting non stop without a care in the world, just happy to have him back again. But now they were so quiet it was un nerving and started to make him worry more about his younger cousin, made him want to see him more to actually confirm they weren't lying and that he was actually in the hospital and alive... "Bo...." -

Jesse watched the grin spread across Luke's face and was also immensly pleased that although Luke couldn't speak the words, he could still make sentences in his head and communicate them by writing them down. He was also pleased that Luke wasn't upset by the fact that Bo was in a lot of pain. Whether it was because Luke didn't actually registar that bit or whether he didn't think a lot of pain was too bad Jesse didn't know....he just hoped Luke wouldn't question further and force him to go into detai. Seeing her cousin so happy at the prospect of seeing Bo was painful for Daisy, still habouring so much guilt and shame at what she had helped do to Bo. All this could have been avoided if she'd been acting like a proper Duke, like the big sister she was meant to be to Bo. Luke would have never believed Bo would hurt anyone on purpose and would never have accepted the guilty verdict for his younger cousin in that situation. Luke would have fought every step of the way for Bo and proved his innocence....daisy just accepted it as face and didn't even think to try and find evidence that supported Bo's side of the story. -

It didn't take too long for the ambulance to arrive at the all to familiar hospital. Daisy and Jesse and not too soon after, Enos ran down the hall with Bo as far as they could until the doctor's that had joined the team had stopped them and promised them they would come and update them as soon as Bo was settled. Of course, a few guards from the prison escorted Bo all the way, not being allowed to leave him alone as was their duty to make sure the prisoner remained exactly that despite the situation he was in. with a resigned sigh, daisy jesse and enos told a nurse where they would be if they needed them and set of to Luke's room, knowing staying with him would be better than staying alone and worrying about Bo. -

Daisy and Jesse both clung to Bo's hand tightly on the way to the hospital, wincing a little as they saw at least two IV's inserted into the back of his hand now, knowing that Bo would throw a hissy fit if he were awake and found out what they had done. What hurt them more though, was the fact to keep him still the paramedics practically had to strap down every part of his body that could move. Even though he had no neck injury, the neck brace was on and keeping him still. His arms, middle and legs were also strapped down so now the only thing that moved was his chest and his rippling muscles. Despite the doctor saying he probably wouldn't need it, the paramedics had also started on the oxygen, holding the mask firmly over Bo's nose and mouth. Enos followed the ambulance through the traffic at breakneck speed, sirens blaring as he followed, remembering to CB Cooter on the way to tell him they were no longer at the jail but headed for the hospital Luke was in. -
Apparently.... The reason Bo appears so out of breath after a short run or a fight is because he has asthama, which is why so many fan fics have Bo having asthma. In reality, it is John Schneider who has slight asthma and this just came over in the character, Bo was never in fact meant to have it

Daisy's heart caught in her throat when Bo's eyes slipped closed and he no longer conciously moved, only his muscles seemed to be working on a completly different concioius level, spasming as they would do if Bo was awake. All that were gathered around the bed were thankful that the tortured screams of agony had now ceased, but they were also so very worried that now Bo could still feel the pain but was unable to exress that pain to anyone. It could get worse and he was powerless to tell anyone. It was ironic that he was just moving out of a prison only to be trapped in a worse one. The Doc came running back into the room from his office, arriving swiftly to tell them that the ambulance would be arriving shortly for Bo and that they would have to ghet moving fast....which was going to be made difficult by the fact that someone would have to remain holding Bo's hands down or the handcuffs would continue digging into his wrists as he arms unconciously spasmed against them. -

Enos whooped with delight and practically ran back over to the bed, skidding to a halt next to Daisy and leaning over so Bo could hear him better. "Bo...listen....Doc's transfering you to the hospital where Luke is. Just hang on alright buddy..." Bo was able to just nod his head in the momentary silence, still tense and shaking, before another wave of pain ripped through and he screamed out loud again, Jesse pressing hard down on his hands to keep them and the wrists pinned safley to the bed. "C..can't...stay...aw...ak..e" Daisy stroked his hair and spoke panickingly....should Bo be falling asleep? "No...Bo you have to stay with us....c'mon you have to stay awake." But before the plea could finish, Bo had slipped into unconciousness, his muscles still spasming, now trapped in a black world of pain. -
Luke swallowed and stood up, heading towards the front and standing next to Bo's coffin, beautifully decorated in the colours of the General Lee with the confederate flag on the lid. He ran his hand over it before turning to the crowd of people. "Bo....was my little brother....and....god I miss him so much....but he'd want me to do this....ta play y'all a couple o'songs no one ever got ta hear that....although as always written about girls he's loved....seem ta kinda fit with how I feel at the moment,,,," He smiled gratefully and sadly as Cooter passed him the guitar and gently strummed a few chords before starting to play and singing softly to the hushed crowd. If I had only known It was our last walk in the rain I’d keep you out for hours in the storm And I would hold your hand Like a lifeline to my heart And underneath the thunder we’d be warm If I had only known It was our last walk in the rain If I had only known I’d never hear your voice again I’d memorize each thing you ever said On those lonely nights I could think of them once more And keep your words alive inside my head If I had only known I’d never hear your voice again Come back let me hold you one more time Let me say goodbye If I had only known It was my last night in your arms I’d pray a miracle would stop the dawn And by the candle’s glow I could look into your eyes And make sure you know My love for you goes on and on If I had only known If I had only known The love I would’ve shown If I had only known
-
Daisy swallowed a little as the last few notes and words faded into silence, and yet she smiled as she did knowing that Bo would have loved that they were all sitting around talking so well about him and singing his songs....it would have inflated his already over inflated ego further... She huddled into Luke more as she noticed a few tears slipping down his cheeks and wrapped her arms around his middle, squeezing him gently, just holding him like that for a long while as everyone sat in silence, each lost in their own respective memories and thoughts.

Bo's fingers spasmed tightly round Daisy's hand, clecnching and unclenching with each close together wave, accompnaying the screams that now tore from his throat. Enos couldn't stand it as he saw the Doc struggling with what to do. Finally he broke the scream filled silence and turned to the doctor. "Doc...can't ya transfer him to the hospital Luke's in? I mean, it might do him better to be nearer his cousin anyhow and they can treat him better than in here where ya ain't allowed ta give him anythin'!" Daisy could do nothing but watch Bo writh and stiffen in pain, trying to get through to him and keep him calm, which wasn't actually working as Bo couldn't appear to hear them. -

Bo tried desperatly to just ride the waves of pain as they came without a squeak, but as the time passed the cramps just seemed to get worse and worse until eventually he just couldn't do it anymore. An hour later, Enos and Daisy who had been talking some more outside were brought running into the room along with Doc Micheals as a blood curdling scream was heard from the ward. They all ran into where Bo was to see Jesse keeping Bo's hands pinned to the bed so the cuffs wouldn't dig in as the muscles all over his body spasmed in pain, arching the young man off the bed, not able to do anything else except scream in pain, feeling unconciousness prick more at his vision. Daisy quickly rushed to Bo's other side, gripping his hand tightly and speaking softly, tears streaking once more at the sight of Bo in so much pain. "Bo...sugar the doctor's here...he's gonna do something ta help with this pain...." Well...she hoped so...Bo couldn't take much more of this...
