Jaime didn't rise till mid morning the next morning, stirring gently and sitting up, stretching gently as she looked around.

Jaime settled as soon as she felt the soothing touches and the calming voice. Soon the nightmares died down and she settled into proper sleep.

Bo raised an eyebrow in mock though... "Alright...then I want Lori, me an' Luke cleared of any an' all charges, and I want enough money to pay for the farm..."

Jaime slept a little restlessly through the night, murmuring in her sleep. However Luke was always there to soothe her, being roused from light sleep in occasion to soothe the young girl from her nightmares.

Bo raised his eyebrows, still cradling his hand. "Anything uh...what do you think Luke..."

Jaime continued to sleep in Luke's arms, head resting against his strong chest. She was small for her 13 year old age, and thin, pale having got little to no sunlight over the years.

Bo grinned back to Luke and turned round with a straight, pain ridden face. "Like what Boss? That's two charges we got you on now...even Lori can sue you now..."

"Oh we do now...who's gonna believe your word over mine...I know Judge Druton ain't....bye Boss..." Bo said with a smirk as he turned back to leave.

After a while, there were no more tears left for Jaime to cry and for the first time in her life that she could remember, she fell asleep in the arms of someone who would protect her...who liked her for who she was.

Bo laughed humourlessly and shook his head "Caught runnin' shine?! Boss she was never caught runnin' shine otherwise federal police would be chasin' her from now till the end o'time...you made it all up didn't ya!" He said, knowing Luke had the tape recorder in his pocket.

Eventually she stopped struggling and dissolved into childish sobs again as the power of Luke's words hit her hard. No one else's mom kept them locked in basements...no one elses mum made her hide her wrists from everyone....did her mom actually hate her...

"Friend? You mean Lori....now how on earth would you know Lori's in town Boss...and what charges are you talkin' about..." Bo stepped towards him, still acting hurt as he cradled his hand.

Jaime struggled against Luke's grip a little, shaking her head "No! I didn't need to! She loves me...she's my mom...she has to love me..."

Jaime shuddered a little and stood up, hurrying over to the ladder. "No...she does! I'll prove it, I'll go back! You'll see...Mom loves me..."

Bo scowled in disgust and shook his head. "Why would I make a deal with you?! All you do is go back on yer word! If we go to Judge Druton we got legal promise that you will stick to your word..."

Bo looked to him, scowling. "Why? So you can swindle us again? So you can weasle out of payments as soon as you want to...I don't think so Boss.."

Jaime's bottom lip wobbled and she shook her head, shaking a little. "Mom loves me..."

Bo nodded, swallowing hard. "Yeah...yeah that sounds great....Luke help me over to Judge Druton's woul ya..."

Jaime pulled her wrists back and hugged them to her, shaking her head. "No...Mom did it because she loves me...she's trying to protect me from everyone else....they wouldn't understand...they'd wanna run tests on me..."

Bo shook his head. "You crushed my hand! How'm I gonna work on the farm now! How am I gonna win races to support Uncle Jesse?! How am I ever gonna drive again?!" He yelled, tears streaking in a very convincing act. "Your gonna pay for this Boss! You done pushed us too far this time!"

Jaime swallowed, frowning. "But...then....I got no where to go...I can't trust anyone but you an' my mom..."

Jaime pulled away and looked to him, shaking her head. "How can you promise that..."

Bo looked to his hand then looked up at Boss, jaw clenched through his fears as he said through gritted teeth. "I'm gonna sue you....I'm gonna sue you for evey penny you got..."

Jaime nodded a little, not being able to look at Luke.

Bo shook his head, trying to keep it away from him . "No...No leave it..."
