Lavinia smiled and headed out to the kitchen quietly where she met Jesse, nodding his gaze in the direction of Bo and Luke. "I think this is one of the best things that could have happened for Luke, Jesse..."
Bo didn't stir at Luke's whisper, just continued to sleep on as though nothing had happened. Lavinia sat beside Luke, just watching to make sure the two got on alright before she went to do what she needed to.
"Well yeah...if yer our helper you gotta learn an' get used t'holdin' him...plus i'm sure Bo's like to have a cuddle from his big cousin so he can get to know you..." Lavinia said softly.
Lavinia's eyes widened in mock surprise as she made her smile bigger. "That's right you are! An' you have dark hair...an you live on the farm! Do you think you'd like to be our helper?"
Lavinia nodded. "Uh huh...i'm gonna need help lookin' after Bo, makin' sure he's happy...an' yer Uncle's gonna need lots of help around the farm...do uh..." Lavinia smiled a little, looking to Luke. "Do you know anyone who could do that? They's gotta have dark hair...be about 4 years old...live on the farm of course..."
Lavinia looked to Luke as she heard the small whisper, nodding a little. "ME an' yer Uncle are gonna need a lot of help to look after him...we need a helper..."
lol that's a great one! That's the kind of small ideas that we're looking for but also bigger ones! This is what we like people! C'mon get involved and lets get some ideas flowing!
Lavinia sighed softly and shrugged a little. "Well the doctors seem to think so...but we know he's a Duke and with the right love and care...well anything's possible..."
Lavinia bit her lip softly, knowing what the doctors had told her. They didn't expect Bo to live past his 5th birthday...if he ever did get that far. "The doctors dont think so sweetie..."
Lavinia sighed gently. "He was born very early Luke...plus he's got a condition called asthma where he can't breathe properly sometimes...because he was born early he's quite weak..."
Bo was sleeping comfortably in between the blankets, his tiny hands that were clenched into fists resting by the sides of his face. His little mouth was moving as the baby sucked on his tongue for comfort. Lavinia smiled softly as she watched the two boys.
"The little baby we went to the hospital to visit...his proper name's Beauregard..." Aunt Lavinia tried to remind Luke gently, knowing it had been a while since Luke had seen Bo
Lavinia looked up as she heard tiny footsteps and smiled softly as she sat back down on the couch with the baby, whispering softly now the baby had settled back down. "Hey there Luke..."
Lavinia nodded softly, knowing already how sick Bo really was, even at such a tender young age. Gently, she removed the baby from the worker's arms and held him close, rocking him gently as he stirred and whimpered a little.
The social worker smiled softly to Jesse as she entered the house, carrying a small bundle in her arms. Lavinia instantly rose from her chair and crossed over to the lady, pulling back the soft, warm cloth to see the tiny little baby behind. ""Oh Jesse..."
*FLASHBACK* Lavinia looked up from her anxious knitting as there was a knock on the door...they day was here...the one that she and Jesse had been looking forward to but at the same time dreading...the day their little nephew Bo was coming to live with them after his parents too died in a car accident.
