  1. I thought the movie was pretty good for what it set out to do. It could have done without the drug references and Uncle Jesse's jokes got tiresome, but other than that I enjoyed it. I still wish Roscoe had been played more for laughs than he was. This wasn't so much "Dukes of Hazzard" as it was 'the guy from American Pie and that fella from Jackass riding in a famous car.', but it was still a fun movie. I thought the part with the Confederate Flag was was pretty funny, and I was glad that Jessica Simpson didn't have a whole lot of scenes. The part with the female cop was a nice surprise as well. Overall, it was fun, and the music was great, but I would have liked to hear a bit more of the "Good Ol' Boys" theme in the movie. The stunts/outtakes in the end credits looked great from what I saw of them too.

  3. I was just on the CMT website looking up episodes of the series and the last few sounded pretty weird to me. One is about Roscoe being replaced by a robot and another is about Bo and Luke meeting an alien from outerspace. The Dukes and sci-fi don't really mix, so what's up with these episodes? Is there more to this than meets the eye or were these shows really as bad as they sound?

  5. That sounded awful. Mostly due to Willie Nelson, but still... The more I read/see/hear about this movie the less I want to see it, which is a shame because a Dukes movie could be a lot of fun if done right.

  7. Only played it twice but managed 232 ft. on the second game.

  9. Not real impressed by it. Looks like a really badly painted poster, and it I can't believe that they couldn't get the color of the General right.
  10. Despite what I've read in interviews about the movie not being a comedy, the trailer itself seemed to play up the comedic aspects/scenes of the film. I just hope that Bo and Luke are portrayed smarter in the movie than they seemed in the trailer and that Uncle Jesse is still the cornerstone of the Duke family. EDIT: also, about Daisy being a blonde - didn't the producers on the show originally want a blonde to play the part? I recall Catherine Bach saying something about that on commentary for episode 1 on the 1st season DVDs.
  11. another article here: http://www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles/1494852/12142004/story.jhtml Not sure if you guys have read it or not, but apparently neither the cast nor director will give anything away about the plot, other than that the Dukes have to save Hazzard County. In the synopsis on Yahoo for the movie it says they also have to save the Duke farm from Boss Hogg.
  12. From what I've read in interviews, they even invented a new type of camera for the car chases and the scenes where Bo and Luke are just driving around normally in the car. The old style would have had them using a camera attached to the back of a truck with the car being towed behind, but apparently the new camera makes it easier to get inside the car and do "point of view" shots and such. I can't remember much about it, but it was mentioned in an interview with the director over at joblo.com
  13. Yeah, spoilers have it that the Dukes take to Cooter and he fixes it up for them at the beginning of the movie. He paints it, puts the Confederate flag on the car, and soups up the engine for them. He also welds the doors shut for some reason. Apparently all references to the General Lee being a stock car are gone.
  14. I didn't really see much of these guys in the series when I first watched it, or at least I don't remember them much (hey, I was only a kid then). Could someone give me some background info on these guys and how long they were in the show. Also, did they ever team up with Bo and Luke? P.S. I'm new here so forgive me if all this has been covered here before.
  15. I thought the cop with the mustache and the gut was Roscoe (the guy the Dukes pull up next to in the General at the beginning and then he shows up at the end to see what's wrong with Daisy's jeep). If its not, who's he supposed to be?
  16. Wooo! My first post here. Shiny. Well, along with a couple other movies this year (Sin City, Star Wars, Serenity) I've been keeping track of the new Dukes movie but didn't know what to expect. I kept waiting for the trailer to debut to get a feel for what the movie would be like. First of all, it does strike me as heading into "comedy" territory just a little too much. The tv show had its light-hearted moments, but it was more "fun" than "funny", with the exception of Enos and Roscoe, and sometimes Boss Hogg. In the trailer, even the Dukes look like they'll be played dumb, though I hope that its just a couple of scenes and not the whole movie that they act like this. Second, Warner Bros. seems to be trying to sell two things in this trailer - first, Jessica Simpson as Daisy Duke (shorts, bikini, etc.). Sex sells from what I'm told. Second - The General Lee. From the interviews I read I knew CGI wouldn't be involved for the stunts, but I didn't know how good the stunts would look, but from what I've seen they look really good. Third, the Duke boys. SWS and Knoxville (as I said above) seem to be playing the Dukes as reckless morons. I hope what we saw in the trailer is not indicative of their performance in the whole movie. Hopefully there's some character development that gets them out of it In the series the Dukes were good guys that just got themselves in trouble becauset they weren't afraid to stand up to the corrupt law enforcement in Hazzard. Still, the trailer looks pretty good.
