  1. Today
  2. Relish might be good on one!
  3. We have iced coffee as an option here, but tea is a hot drink. It's a staple in the UK and Ireland. Until I started watching these videos, I hadn't realized how rare kettles are in American homes. I think one if them said that the lower mains voltage in the US means they take much longer to boil.
  4. And ketchup!
  5. Nothing beats 2-3 corn dogs with mustard!
  6. All this is VERY interesting Hoss! Thank you!
  7. We go for cold tea down here in the South! I drink several bottles of unsweetened Black tea! per day!....uh sorry about that comment about B$%#@ tea....that's not politicaly correct.....let's just call it African American tea!
  8. They're virtually unknown over here, and so far I've only seen them at this show. The guy goes by the name 'Cranky Yankee'. I've just checked his Facebook page, and apparently he'll be closer to where I live a couple of times over the summer.
  9. Why Are The British So Eccentric In War? That's the question posed in this video. It tells the story of why you can always make tea in a British tank, and of the soldier who went into battle in Operation Market Garden (the failed attempt to take the bridge in Arnhem as dramatized in the movie 'A Bridge Too Far') with an umbrella.
  10. Corn Dogs are a Southern favorite! Remember when Rosco was going to get a corn dog?
  11. I was back a the American car show today. I don't go every year as it can get repetitive, but there were a good number of cars this year that I hadn't seen before including a recent Challenger Hellcat and Charger Scatpack that had travelled all the way from Poland. From TV, there were two or three KITTs, one with the full dashboard makeover and a couple of Starsky and Hutch Torinos. Not American, but designed for the American market, there was a row of five Deloreans, some with flux capacitors. I avoided the usual food offerings of burger and chips and took the opportunity to have another corn dog! With good weather, it was very busy this year, so the food queues were ridiculous. I thought I was going to be out of luck Dukes-wise until I made my second tour and spotted a General Lee. It's not the same as the one above. The owner has had it for 19 years, has been to Dukesfest and visited the filming sites. He let me sit in for a photo and showed me the signed knee pad under the steering wheel which came from a screen-used car. He also had both sun visors signed by cast and crew.
  12. Thank you Hobie and Roger. That all means a lot to me.
  13. Yesterday
  14. Because I'm still close to the UK, I'm usually identified as English, and that's fine with me (although I didn't celebrate St George's Day on Thursday!). My nationality is British, and that's probably how I'd be known further from home where people aren't so familiar with the differences between the Home Nations.
  15. Most definitely! You are all that Lady! ( and I DO mean Lady....you're a fine young lady! )
  16. Hoss, do you prefer to be called British or English?
  17. Doesn't really matter what time to me. Thank you for all you do MM. As a low tech person I have no idea how much time you have put into this labor of love since 1999 but I am sure it is an unimaginable number of hours. It is appreciated and you are loved.
  18. Garrett is definitely a heavy hitter here on the HN....been here longer than me.
  19. do it after 10 pm.
  20. I hope you have a good weekend Garrett. You mean a lot to all of us here in Hazzard County!
  21. Last week
  22. I am sorry you missed the pro bike race. Glad you missed the rain though.
  23. Thank you Roger and Hobie! You made my day . They'll be racing at Talladega this weekend. Sadly I'll be out so I won't watch it, but I'll be rooting on #9 as always!
  24. British English often comes with subtext and inferred meanings whereas American English tends to be more direct. Here's a video by an American who's been living in the UK for a while. In it, she describes some of the phrases that initially confused her.
  25. I'd say midweek would be best as it's a bit quieter. I'm between five and eight hours ahead of most of the people on here, so I'll leave it up to someone else to recommend at time. I hope this update doesn't mess up internal links and embedded videos like when you shifted from vBulletin.
  26. The current version of the forum software will no longer be supported by the end of the year. I'm planning on upgrading to the next version before then. I'd like all your input on when the best day of the week/time I should do it and do you think a) the sooner the better or b) wait until later ? Looks like it will overall be a better experience and it looks like they have a mobile app too.
  27. I'm still really big into pro dirt bikes. Saturday they raced in Cleveland Browns stadium. That's the closest they'll get to me this year but I didn't go. It rained all day so I'm kinda glad I didn't go.
  28. And that's a fact!
