Mark B / Scooter Davenport
Went to a Brad Paisley concert last night in Tampa; in addition to it being a great show, the title song from his new album has a nice little Dukes tribute. Take a look at the chorus below. I've said for long time that a new Dukes series should have Brad Paisley music in it; this song could be the new theme! "Moonshine In The Trunk" Got a '69 Camaro with a Ram Jet 502I could win the pole at Bristol, babyBut I'm ridin' ‘round with youBored as hell we might as wellBurn this tank of gas‘Cause if we're goin' nowhere, girlLet's go nowhere fast[Chorus:]Like there's moonshine in the trunkAnd blue lights on our tailLike if we get caught they're gonna haul us off to jailLike we're helpin' out Uncle JesseMakin' a midnight runLet's drive tonight like this whole county's dryAnd there's moonshine in the trunkWell they say that's how the Duke boysAnd NASCAR started outThey were haulin' bootleg liquorAnd look where they are nowChances are I gotta Mason jar Rollin' ‘round in the backThat white lightnin's long goneBut it shouldn't be hard to actLike there's moonshine in the trunkAnd blue lights on our tailLike if we get caught they're gonna haul us off to jailLike we're helpin' out Uncle JesseMakin' a midnight runLet's drive tonight like this whole county's dryAnd there's moonshine in the trunkWhoa, oh, ohLet's pretend we're runnin' from the lawWhoa, oh, ohLike we're the Bonnie and Clyde of alcoholLike there's moonshine in the trunkAnd blue lights on our tailLike if we get caught they're gonna haul us off to jailLike we're helpin' out Uncle JesseMakin' a midnight runLet's drive tonight like this whole county's dryAnd there's moonshine in the trunk
HossC
Thanks for that, Mark. I'm not a huge fan of most modern Country music, but this one avoided the clichés and had a great banjo. To save people searching, here's the video: I'm not the only one who finds some modern Country music formulaic. I found this video earlier in the year, but never got around to posting it, It's a mashup of six recent (2013/2014) songs. I don't think we've seen it on HNet before. Mark B / Scooter Davenport
There is lot of formula in modern music of a lot of genres; the same can be said for movies, etc. But I guess if you like something, you want more of the same, correct? And another side note- I can't believe I didn't notice this before, but the album cover uses the 'Dukes' font (slightly squished) on the 'Moonshine in the Trunk' bumper sticker!
