Well, apparently, the database crashed sometime after I posted this and I didn't notice it until today. I hope the forums weren't down for long. At any rate, I'm going to have to reschedule the upgrade as I spent a few hours just trying to the forums working again. Not exactly how I wanted to spend my Saturday. LOL.

 

In my timezone I first got the database error message on Friday morning, and the forums were unavailable all day Saturday. Although we usually get "work-in-progress" message, I just assumed you were doing the upgrade.

About the same as Hoss though I thought it was available in the morning on Friday.

 

Saturday I tried again:

First it said There is a problem with your SQL server.

Later on the day it said there appears to be a problem with the database.

I've just noticed a major problem that's occurred since the forum migration. All the links which reference other posts/threads within HazzardNet now dump you back at the forum homepage. I've only tried about half a dozen links, but they all did the same thing. Has anyone else noticed this?

Another problem I've just come across is that some videos posted before the update are only displaying as a URL rather than an embedded, watchable video (or even a link).

If any of you come across weirdness like that, can you all post links in this thread? I'll go through and fix them as I have time. I'm sure there are probably tons of them. 

I tweaked the forum a little to have more friendly URLs. Any previous bookmarks should redirect to the new URLs, but if you come across any 404s or other errors, let me know.

I probably won't get a chance to check for broken links until the weekend, but it's good to have the "01" icon back on the tab .
 
I've discovered something about this forum software that bugs me, and it's the way it handles right-clicks on images. I used to get a menu like this when I right-clicked an image (using Firefox):
 

 
Mostly it was just to get the image location for another post. Now if you right-click an image you get a pop-up window containing the image with an option to save it. I know some forums disable right-clicking in a pointless attempt to protect images and text (there are always ways around these obstacles!), but the behavior of this software is just annoying. Is version 4 the same, Mufn?

That's weird Hoss, I don't have that. I still get the same menu as that picture you posted. I guess this is cause I use Chrome.

Thanks, Roth. In Firefox the background goes dark and I get a pop-up window like this:

 

 

I've just tried Chrome, IE and Opera, and they all give a right-click menu similar to the one I used to get.

Hoss, did Firefox recently update? I'm wondering if it's a Firefox thing rather than a forum thing. Have you tried it on other websites?

Thanks for your reply, Mufn. I'm sure Firefox has updated in the last month (I'm currently on version 38.0.5), but HNet is the only site where I've seen this right-click behavior. Other forums, and sites like eBay and Amazon, still give me the old style menu.
