"Its not the snapping at me i'm upset with Luke, its the temper...yer jumping to conclusions...yer inability t'understand right now...if you wanna understand why Bo's actin' like this an' how t'stop him actin' like this then you can't just assume everythin; all the time..."

Daisy replied back softly, not wanting to take sides but it was hard when she understood how Bo was feeling.

"I guess you have to think about who's gonna be upset more...who this is goin' t'affect the most. To be honest, Bo's a big boy. He'll get over it and its about time he started doin' more things for himself rather than rely on you all the time. Eventually you are bound t'go yer seperate ways and do things seperatly...families and careers and the like...especially when yer probation finally ends...which ain't far off."

Daisy said quietly, already having started thinking about her future too though she hadn't told anyone.

"We can't be like we are now forever....as much as we would like t'be...you have to do what's gonna be good for your future...not for what's gonna be ok right now..."

"You don't really Luke..." Daisy said softly back "If you hated it you wouldn't have put this offer forward to Zack already...Luke if Zack makes you happy then go for what you want. Bo's feelings are his problem and its something he has to work around...he'd tell you exactly the same thing. Your not gonna hurt him as badly as your thinking you are..."

"Course i'm right..." she replied teasingly. "Yer not the only one who can be right ya know.."

Daisy said with a chuckle as she rubbed his back gently.

"Its gonna be fine...i'm behind ya all the way an' so is Uncle Jesse...if needs be just talk with Bo, let him know you know how he feels and that you need to talk about it. Things have a way of working out...you'll see."

"S'ok...and no he probably dont wanna talk about it t'night because its the first time he's seen you happy in ages...he's not exactly gonna turn round and spoil that...well least not intentionally anyways. You know Bo's always done things on his own time rather than anyone elses...as far as he could anyway. Why not let it rest t'night...chances are if he has a good night he wont be home till tomorrow anyway...just take t'night t'think about you...and Zack..and make sure it's definitly what you wanna do."

Daisy said with a smile, glad to see she was helping her older cousin for once.

Luke nodded looking out the window as he heard the slight patter of raindrops. It called to him like a beacon in the night. "I'm gonna go for a little walk...wanna come?"

Luke had always loved to walk in the rain. He supposed it started with fond memories of his parents, playing with him out in the rain. Back then he had been a romping, laughing four year old...with no cares in the world.

After they died, he had taken to walking in it. In his child's mind he assumed that the light gentle rain was just a soft reminder that his parents were still watching over him, still nearby though he couldn't see them.

To be sure Aunt Lavinia scolded at first, sure that the oldest boy would catch his death-a-cold walking around in the rain like that...but he never did. In fact, more often than not, he would return to the farmhouse more calm, if not happier, than when he left it. After a while she stopped scolding, but insisted on Luke taking his jacket with him.

It was a habit he still had today as he reached for his jean jacket, the only one he had, tossed in a chair in their room. It was silly to take that jacket really... it soaked up the rain like a sponge. But he supposed it was better than nothing.

Luke nodded softly, walking to the door, waiting for his cousin to join him. It was a thing she had begun doing when she first came to the farm...Bo was never able to follow after Luke in the rain due to his asthma, but Daisy had no such limitations.

Over the years, it had become a tradition between them. While Bo and Luke shared the General Lee, their room, and countless other things, walking in the rain was one thing that was strictly a connection Luke and Daisy had. They would talk about anything or nothing on these walks together, just enjoying the closeness of one another and the bond of brotherly and sisterly love.

Before long, Daisy came out her room to join Luke at the door, slipping her coat on and doing it up carefully before looking to him with a smile.

"Ready when you are..."

It had been such a long time since they had gone for a walk in the rain together. Since coming back from Nam, for a while Luke had taken a great dislike to the wet weather having had to cope with it too much out in Nam during the rainy seasons. It had taken him a while to get back into enjoying walking through it...and it had been even longer since he invited her on a walk. She had missed those days so much and so everytime he asked her to go with him, she treasured the connection they found again.

Daisy stepped out into the rain first with a happy sigh, liking the feel of the cool rain against her. As much as they had all become accustomed to the hot Gerogia weather, it was nice sometimes to just have some rain for a change to cool the place down and make it a little more bareable in the summer.
