Lori smiled a little, laying her head on his shoulder, softly closing her eyes.

"Jesse and JJ will be here soon Luke.."

"How come you didn't come together?"

Lori glanced over her shoulder at Bo as he got up snickering, walking out of the room. She let out a small sigh, grinning.

"Me and Bo started fightin' he got me all oily and greasy from workin' on the tractor. So, I took a bath, well after that we was still arguin'...Jesse warned us....but we didn't listen til finally we pushed his buttons too much and he got mad at us really bad....we ate all of Daisy's cake batter.."

Lori lowered her head to where her chin touched her chest, a sheepish grin creeped up on her face as she batted her lashes at him.

"But you know us though...we'd never cause such chaos..."

"Ether the two of you are really dumb or you ain't got enough scene not to make Jesse mad." Luke told her.

Lori looked at him and grinned again, propping one arm up on her elbow, her head rested in it's palm, the other hand working lightly on twirling his dark curls around her fingers.

"Hey now, you haven't much room to talk there yourself..."

"But I'm not going home yet. I'm safe here. What's the worse thing he can do to me in the hospital. You and Bo both have to go back to the farm." Luke point out.

Lori shook her head defiantly.

"No, I'm not goin' back there..."

"So when I get out of here. Your not coming to visit me?" asked Luke with a pout on his lips.

Lori chuckled at him lightly, kissing him tenderly.

"Of course, I'm gonna move back into my old room and take care of you, best way I can..I'm gonna fill in for your chores."

"Well I hope you do a better job then what you and Bo did today." said Jesse as walked into the room.

Lori froze stiff on the bed, her hand that was working Luke's curls stopped, tangling his hair.

"Ohhhh he--....."

She muttered to herself, not daring turn around.

"Oh he what?" asked Jesse as he sat down in the chair next Luke's bed.

Lori swallowed the knot that had formed in her throat, a knot the size of texas.

"No...nothing uncle Jesse..."

Lori half whined half whispered.

"Ok. How are you feeling Luke?" asked Jesse.

" I'm doing good." said Luke as rubbed Lori's hand

Lori dared not move or speak, except to move her hand through his hair again, curling it around her fingers, she loved doing that.

"Hey Big Brother. What's a matter Lori? Your awful quiet." said JJ.

Lori peeped over her shoulder at JJ, giving a small smile, her eye sights not leaving Jesse.

Luke raised a brow at Lori, almost asleep from her playing in his hair.

"Howdy JJ... she's being a chicken not wantin' to go home cause she's afraid Jesse's gonna get her.."

He grinned from ear to ear, looking at Lori.

Lori grumbled a little at him and pulled to one of his curls.

"Ow!!"

Luke yelped, wincing.

Lori grinned evilly at him, snickering.

"It's only right, but it was pretty funny watching Daisy chase after them."

said JJ laughing.

Lori looked at her, snorting a little.

"It wasn' too funny to me and Bo, seein' as how we was the two on the recievin' end of the fryin' pan."

"I guess next time you won't steal from Daisy." laughed Luke

"I guess so..."

Lori giggled a little, nodding in agreement.

" I hope Daisy makes another one. It would have been nice to have with dinner." said JJ.

Jesse piped up from where he sat.

"Yea it sure would have if a certain blonde haired boy and a black haired girl would learn to keep their little grimy cabbage collectors off of the batter!"

JJ was sure glad it was them that Jesse was mad at and not her anymore.

She just sat there trying to keep from laughing.

Luke snickered a little, trying to retain himsef from bursting out laughing.

"Ohhhh don't even go there big boy...I remember a certain dark haired duke boy when he was about 5 or so that wanted some of his aunt's cake batter and what did he do? He turned over the whole bowl on himself causing him to make a mess.... you really hit the nail on the head with the words cake walk didn't ya?"

Lori retorted at Luke for his snickering.
