"Heck Hughie Hogg can't pull off a dry look either...he's still as ugly as a possum's fanny," said Luke "Course....I should't be so mean t the poor possum," he added.

Luke pretended to take a whiff of him. "Coulda fooled me...ya smell like ya live in there with her..." he teased, a half-grin on his face.

"S'only because I's been hangin' round with you...your smell rubs off on me..." replies with a smirk of his own.

Luke might have only been a little boy, but he was old enough to understand what the doctor was saying. Crocodile tears fell steadily from his blue eyes.

Jesse sighed softly as he rocked sleeping Daisy in his arms, at a loss as to what to do next.

Daisy saw the look and shook her head. "You know I wish I had a cousin I could do that with."

Luke looked at her. "Do what?"

Daisy shook her head. "You two are so close...I never even had a girl cousin...much less one like a sister..."

Bo frowned and looked up at her.

"Aw c'mon Daisy...me an' Luke may have our own looks between each other but you got a whole set fer us that we understand....you got the 'I'm gonna hit ya with a fryin' pan' look...an' the 'Get out of my kitchen!' look..."

Bo smiled as he hugged both his cousins and both of them hugged him back, he liked this when they were a family properly.

Uncle Jesse smiled as he watched his three youngin's, thankful that he had brought them up as he had done.

Daisy leaned her head against Bo's shoulder, holding Luke's hand in her own. She liked moments like this too...this closeness.

Even Luke liked it more than he ever would admit, but he was smiling right along with everyone.

Bo remained that way before he noticed Uncle Jesse just watching happily out the corner of his eyes. Smiling a little, he broke away from his cousins and stood up, crossing to his Uncle and sitting on one arm of the chair as he wrapped his arms around the older man.

Daisy just smiled and leaned a little into Luke who sat near the window, a blanket wrapped well-around him. Thunder continued to boom outside.

Luke looked out the window as rain pelted against the pane. "Well should help with this dry spell we been having...."

Daisy nodded a little as she sippd her cocoa. "Should do that..."

Bo nodded too, though inside his chest his heart was slightly racing and he was amazed that no one else could hear it. He looked down at his Uncle as he felt a gentle hand on his back and smiled down at him.

Jesse smiled back and looked back over to his two other youngun's, shaking his head a little.

"You know...it was stormin' the night you arrived inta the world Luke..."

Luke swallowed. He never had understood why he had been born on the farm. He tried to imagine what the day was like, but it was hard. He could imagine a stormy day, but nw, even the memories he had of his parents were vague.

Jesse watched Luke's reaction for a moment before moving out of Bo's hold and telling him to sit on the floor, getting up and finding one of the old photo albums on the shelf.

He sat down with his three kids, and opened the book carefully, showing them all a photo.

"That was you with yer mom and dad just an hour after ya was born son..."

Daisy bent over the book looking. "Aww Luke...look at all those dark curls of yours...you were so cute..."

Luke flushed a little, not really paying attention to the bright eyed dark haired baby clenching the blanket in his tiny fists. Instead his eyes rested on his momma and daddy and the expressions on their faces.
