Capt_Redneck
It was a 1977 Trans Am used in Smokey & The Bandit. The movie came out in May 1977 and the 78 models were not available yet. Look at the scenes when they get to Texarkana and the Coors warehouse. There are Red, White, and Blue banners on the building. They were there because it was filmed right around America's Bicentennial July 4, 1976. You can't have a 78 car in 76. It was also Pontiac's way of promoting their 50th anniversary . Hope this helps...I'm gone Darrell
