  1. Daney leaned against the brick wall of the alley and out of breath. Her eyes burned. She was doubled over.. but it was worth it, saving Diablo. No one had been hurt, just a dumpster from the bomb. "Ohhh," She muttered softly. Daney recognized the blond person who planted the bomb. Had anyone else? She felt a tug on some of her long hair. "You ok?" a familar, older male voice replied. Daney smiled. "I'm tired, sir." "I know," And with that he guided her back toward the street. He stopped for a moment and picked up two cats that were running toward the Courthouse. He held them as tenderly as he held Velvet Ears, but a tight enough grip that neither of Hilery's cats could scrim away. "You fellas shouldn't be near that building... Bandit and Flash will have you for doggy num nums." A smile brightened his face. A few moments later, they joined MaryAnne. (Now for a twist... From here to whenever, MaryAnne Coltrane will be writing my lines/scenes. I ask no one else do so, as MaryAnne is the only one I gave permission too. Thank you, Deputy!! Good luck and have fun.)
  2. (A long haired woman walked up to the bulletin board. Through sunglasses, hazel eyes read all the postings. Her right hand came up and touched her silver necklace. The slender brunette sighed and contemplated what to do. Her left hand took the knife that was impaled in a paper. Daney started to use the knife's tip to scratch her own message but changed her mind after a glance around. She pocketed Brian's weapon and walked away toward the Busy Bee Cafe.)

The Deputy is right y'all. 8) No, packing up and leaving isn't the answer... but I have known people to do just that. It all comes back to the golden rule of being good to one another.

Essy, I didn't mean to come across angry... because I wasn't. I also ask you politely to think about this... do we really want people to think Hazzardnet is in turmoil when it is not? I would like to see peace, respect, honor and friendship brought back. Thank you. Daney
  5. *sneaks in the back door of the Boar's Nest* Thanks all. Good luck to everyone and take care. =) *walks back out, memorizing the Deputy's words about home*

Essy (and everyone else), I respectfully disagree with you. There are BILLIONS of names and THOUSANDS of occupations, HUNDREDS of vehicles. There is no reason for any created character in a small town like Hazzard to have the same name, job or car. It's about respect. Hair and eye color are a different matter because there aren't so many choices. I tell ya if another Daney came along, I'd pack up and leave... because being orginial is not a stupid thing. Are you or anyone else willing to pay that price? Daney
  7. “Double Damn,†Daney muttered under her breath. How did one pack years of history and memories into one short journal entry. It isn’t possible, because I’ve had lots of adventures with my comrade and read lots of escapades about MaryAnne Victoria Coltrane, She thought. The pretty Deputy who more than one person considered their best friend. Wait, this is supposed to be about how I feel... No one else can be in it! Daney reminded herself silently. She gently ripped the page. It was cleanly torn from the notebook, no jagged edges. The brunette Duke had gone about this the wrong way, that was nothing new and one of the things MaryAnne was patient about. Daney started humming Holiday by Madonna... it reminded her of something MaryAnne could use after everything the 3 weeks younger woman had been though in her life... Losing her mother when she was knee high to a grasshopper, her papa the year before she came back to Hazzard... yet, MAV was a pillar of strength when the rest of Hazzard seemed to be crumbling down. If anyone screwed up... MaryAnne hoped one learned their lesson and didn’t repeat the offense. The curly haired, brunette Coltrane had lots of faith and trust. She was modest and unselfish. Humble and graceful. The only time MaryAnne got upset was if someone was causing trouble for no reason. The list of MaryAnne’s good points could go on and on. And that didn’t mean she was a super hero... no she was like a shooting star in the southern night sky... a unique, special treasure. Daney couldn’t think of one person who would trade that in for anything. At least she wouldn’t... MaryAnne was an inspiration. Happy Birthday, Deputy. I hope it was a good one. 8)
  8. Thank you Essy and Kristy, it has been nice having y'all around Hazzard... the rest of ya too. =)
  9. Thanks Essy, I hope everyone had a great day.
  10. I second what Brian and MaryAnne stated. =) There is alot I could say but I won't. So just let me add... be good to one another, please take care of each other because that is what Hazzard has always been about.
  11. MaryAnne, Don't feel bad about mostly getting all A's. 8) You're in a cagtergory all of your own... like me! I got mostly B's, some C's, 1 A and 1 D. Let me leave y'all with a couple of lines from John Cougar Mellencamp's "Small Town" to think about. 'No, I cannot forget where it is that I come from. I cannot forget the people who love me. Yeah, I can be myself here in this small town And people let me be just what I want to be.'
  12. My answers were mostly Daisy's Roadrunner but one was for the jeep. LOL =)
  13. Riddick, Nope, no problem. Its just a name. I'd just like to remind everyone to be good to each other. and yourself. Daney
  14. Riddick, I just found it odd that the day after I posted a link to a story of mine that had Haley Shaw, someone else shows up with the same spelling name here... it made me suspious. I hope you understand I didn't mean any harm. I had some thing else on my mind at that moment. Daney
  15. That was sweet, Essy. 8) I hope everything is ok for you and just remember... Keep The Faith. (It's a Bon Jovi song)
  16. (Min can't post at the moment and Val gave me permission earlier in the week...) Daney watched the folks come off the roof after giving MaryAnne and Brian a standing ovation after the Deputy bowed. They mingled in with the rest of the crowd heading into the Boar's Nest. It was late Friday afternoon and everything was alright in Hazzard County.
  17. Daney let out a big sigh of relief seeing Brian and MaryAnne hug. A smile came over her face. The brunette glanced went quickly from Rosco moving toward his kin to her young blond cousin on the roof, Daisy walking pass Hilery and her friend. Luke heading back up the ladder. She waved to her oldest cousin, Min, Bo, Val, Enos, Cletus, Vicki and Sheriff Little. Then turned back to watch the Deputy and her favorite bad guy. The private investigator felt a gentle squeeze on her shoulders and grinned at Daisy.
  18. Daisy had climbed down from the roof with Luke. They walked over to Hilery. Rosco had since walked to his cousins. "It ain't up to Rosco, Hazzard is his county not Chickasaw." Daisy told the young girl with a smile.
  19. Daney's eyes got really wide hearing Brian and MaryAnne. She put a hand up to her mouth and bit on her lip, she didn't want to spoil it for anyone.
  20. Rosco shook his head and threw the gun back to Daney, then ran toward MaryAnne and Brian.
  21. Rosco was speechless for a moment, then angry. MaryAnne was dead or dying and no one was moving to help to her. Not even Daney who was frozen in shock except for the tears. His foot brushed againist something. He reached down and picked it up. The feel of the small warm metal piece was no comfort. "Sheriff, please don't. Brian had no choice." Daney's voice was a mere whisper. The Sheriff didn't care... He looked toward his cousins, then glanced around with revenge in his heart and mind.
  22. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Daney heard not just her voice but Rosco's as well. He was heartbroken at the shot. So was she. They were both in shock. She reached up to her necklace a second and held it tight. She pulled the item that had been held at her side... and looked toward the rooftop and the crowd. Then back to the MaryAnne and Brian... before she crumpled to the ground in tears, like a ragdoll that had been thrown. This wasn't suppose to happen. She could Rosco cussing as his feet kicked angrily at the ground.
  23. Rosco bit his lip at the scene in front of him and figdeted with his shirt. He glanced to see the people on the roof and the rest of the damn crowd quiet... The Sheriff stopped where he was and stared at his younger cousins about twenty feet away. He turned for just a second to see Daney had managed to stop crying enough to come and stand behind him. He was shaking just as much as she was.
  24. Daney took a deep breath and ran after the Sheriff. He had every right to stop them but he couldn't.. they had to finish this. "Sheriff Rosco," She paused to see the arrow land exactly where it had been targeted. She stopped in her tracks seeing Brian grab his weapon. "Oh god no," She screamed and started trembling, the tears began as she glanced up to her own cousins, then back to the Coltranes. Her and Rosco were closer than anyone else except for the people on the roof. They had walked that far in the few seconds.
