"I think she knows deep down even if she doesn't accept it." The nurse says.

"I wish I could help but...maybe she's upset that she couldn't protect you." The nurse says laying a gentle hand on Daisy's shoulder.

"Bo...she's awake and she's asking for you." Tom says. Lizzy was thankful Daisy couldn't see the tears pouring down her face at the thought of being unable to protect her friend.

"Bo you're needed at the hospital." Tom says.

"You got a radio I can use?" Tom asks the doctor. The doctor nods and Tom follows him to the desk where the doctor hands him the mike. Tom flips the channel and makes the call. "Bad wolf to lost sheep you got your ears on come back."

Lizzy slipped her mask back over her mouth and nose and turned away from the prying eyes in the room. Tom leaned over and whispered in her ear. "He loves you babe and he'll be here as soon as he can." Then he pulled back and looked at Daisy. "I'll go try to raise him on the radio. Stay with her."

"I need to see him please." Lizzy said nearly in tears.

"No, please I just want Bo." Lizzy says.

Meanwhile in Lizzy's room a nurse was checking on the cords and vitals humming an old Hank song and slowly Lizzy's eyes opened. It took the nurse a few seconds to realize but when she heard a choking noise she turned to the bed. "Oh goodness. You're awake." The nurse said startled. Lizzy lifted a hand to her throat and the nurse nodded. "Yeah we'll get the tube out just let me go get a doctor." The nurse got a doctor and soon the tube was removed but they had to put an oxygen mask over her face. Lizzy took a few deep breaths then pulled it away. "Bo Duke. Can I see him?" Her voice came out scratchy as it had been unused in a long time.

"I know and we'll figure out how to do just that." Tom says.

"Oh." Tom says.

"Why didn't you call the cops and have him arrested?" Tom asks.

"You'll be ok, don't worry about it." Tom says.

"I dealt with shine runners from the time I was 16 till the time I was 19 I think you'll be ok. Besides Lizzy will kill me if she wakes up and something's happened to you." Tom says.

"Daisy you don't think I'm gonna let you get hurt do you?" Tom asked.

"Come on Daisy I'll walk you down to the cafe I haven't eaten in a while and you can keep me company." Tom says.

actually I believe the title is Cool Hands, Luke and Bo but that's a minor technicality

The next morning Bo took Daisy down to sit with Tom at the hospital and after filling him in on the deal with Jake Bo left to run a few errands.

"Don't worry about it man we all have those days." Cooter says.

"You alright?" Cooter asked bedding down in a chair.

"If you guys don't mind." Cooter said as Enos nodded.

"Sure." Luke says.

"You'll stay at the hospital." Luke said.

"Well then we'll stay with you." Luke says.

"You let us know if he ever comes near you." Luke says.
