Sweating For The County

"Maybe he thinks it's easier this way. I don't like it though. Something's not right here." Luke says. Cue anyone. -
Meanwhile in a cabin on the outskirts of town Little Red is picking at a sandwich as the two goons walk in. "Uh boss." Little Ricky says. "I'm awfully disappointed in you two." Red says. "But Boss that man..." "That man was the one you two were after in the first place." Red snaps. "But he had two girls..." "The girls don't matter Ricky. They're not the ones trying to shut down my operation. I want Micheal Knight in my office tomorrow by sunset or the two of you will be sleeping with the fishes got it?" "Yes Boss." The goons walk out and Ricky looks at his partner. "I knew it was a bad idea going into business with that little..." "Don't say it," Matt warns. "You know Red is concerned about profits. If anything happens to them we lose our income and your baby won't get the food it needs." "But..." "No buts Ricky." "You didn't have to be so rough on them Red." Tom mutters walking out of the shadows. "If my operation gets blown by two out of towners then we both get locked up for years. Tom know I can't afford that." "Then turn straight and get a real job." "Where's the fun in that?" Little Red asks. Cue anyone.

"Real little, four or five maybe." Uncle Jesse says. Cue anyone.

Lizzy rubbed her eyes and waited and after a while she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked up to see Bo standing there. He took a seat next to her and scooted his chair close. "Lizzy..." He said taking her hand. "They've found Jeb. He showed up at the farm and turned himself in." "On what grounds?" "Uncle Jesse didn't say just that McGee and David were talking to Luke one minute and the next thing he knows they're leading Jeb out in handcuffs." "Bo...Something doesn't feel right. I was closer to Jeb than most of you even though he's family to you and it just...it doesn't feel right. Whatever they're accusing him of...He's a Duke and as much as you like to push the laws buttons I've never known you guys to do anything so against the law before. I don't know it just...It still doesn't feel right. There's something going on that Jeb's not saying." Lizzy says. "I know honey, it doesn't feel right to me either but if they have the proof then...there's nothing we can do." Bo says. "I hope he's alright Bo." Lizzy sighs leaning against him. Cue anyone. -
Lizzy sighed moving around the kitchen two weeks later on the phone with her agent. "I get that Lizzy but shooting will start again soon and you need to make a decision. In about four weeks we've got a three week shooting break for you and we need to know if you can do a few ads in that time." "No, I need those three weeks off. Can I take until then to make up my mind then? About what I want to do?" "Sure, if you really want to leave I'll have you film your last one and then we'll write you out of the script. It'll be a loss but do what you need to." "Thanks." Lizzy says hanging up and looking at Belle. "Honey...there's something you need to know." Lizzy says. Belle climbs off her chair and walks over to Lizzy. "Mommy?" Lizzy sits down and helps Belle climb up on to the table. "Honey, you know Bo and I love you with all of our hearts but there's gonna be some changes around here soon." "How soon Mommy?" "A couple months." "How long's that?" Lizzy pulled the calender off the refrigerator and flipped a page. "When you see all these days on here crossed off and it's the red circled day that's when Bo will be your daddy officially." "Really?" "Yup. And then when you see this day here." Lizzy says pointing to a day a few months after that. "You'll have a new brother or sister." "But Joey says he doesn't like his brothers and sisters. He says his mommy and daddy don't love him anymore now that they have them." "Sweetpea, Bo and I will always love you. It may seem like we spend a lot of time with the baby but...sometimes babies have more needs then older kids do. I promise you every night I will make sure you always get your bedtime story and you'll always know how much we love you. You like playing with Ashlyn and Amili and Kara don't you?" "Yeah but they can't really play with me." "Honey little kids aren't always big enough to play with but...you can be my special helper. You know why?" "Why Mommy?" "Because no matter how many kids Bo and I have you'll always be my first and oldest girl." "But I won't be Daddy's." "It is true that you won't be his biologically but when the papers go through you will be his by law." "What's that mean?" "That if something really bad happens to me, like if I go to visit great grandma Davenport he'll be the one taking care of you. Bo will always love and take care of you even if I can't. And one day you won't care that he isn't the one that made you." Lizzy says. Belle nods and climbs into her mom's lap. Cue anyone.

Meanwhile Bo and Luke had pulled up beside Julie's car and looked it over. "Flat tire...looks like some structural damage as well." Bo says. "Now do you know all that or are you just saying that to sound smart?" Luke asks. "I was trying to imagine what Cooter would say if he saw this." Bo says. "So we replace the back tire and drag it into him?" Luke asks. Bo nods. They change the tire and drop it off at Cooter's garage. Cue anyone.

"She was real little when it happened. We didn't understand it for a while but then Doc Appleby saw her and he explained it." Uncle Jesse said. Cue anyone.

"Julie what was the date on the letter?" Luke asks. Cue anyone. -
Lizzy sighs and rolls onto her back. "Kung pow chicken?" "Soy sauce and egg rolls. All the best for my girl." "I love you." Lizzy and Bo spent the night curled up in a blanket watching old scary movies finally falling asleep on the floor. The next morning Lizzy stretched out and found herself on the bed with Bo pushing the door open. "Morning." Lizzy yawns. "Morning, I fixed your favorites." Bo says placing the tray across Lizzy's lap. Lizzy takes one look at the food and smiles. "I thought you couldn't cook." Lizzy says. "I can't Daisy helped a bit." Bo says. Cue anyone.

Daisy nodded and Lizzy disappeared into the bathroom as Daisy waited for Bo to get home. Lizzy laid out her plan and then disappeared into the master bedroom locking the door behind her. A little less than an hour later Bo and Belle walked in slightly surprised to see Daisy. "Daisy shouldn't you be upstairs with the girls?" Bo asked. "I'm going in a minute. Little Ms. Belle would you like to come with me tonight? I'm sure the twins would love to have their favorite cousin come stay." "I can stay the night? Is it ok with Mommy?" "It's fine with your mom she's the one who actually suggested it." Belle nodded and ran into her room grabbing a change of clothes, pj's, stuffed rabbit, and her hairbrush. After stuffing it in a bag she went back out to Daisy. "Ready?" Daisy asked. Belle nodded. "She's in the bedroom." Daisy said before leaving. "Lizzy?" Bo called. "In the bathroom Bo." Lizzy answered. "That's odd cause Daisy said you were in the bedroom and it sounds like your voice is coming from there." Bo replied. "No, go into the bathroom." Lizzy says. Bo grins at the thought of what could be going on but once in the bathroom sees the paper on the sink. He reads through it and then sees the very blue pregnancy test also there. He looks up to the mirror and sees the words 'I'm sorry' written in red lipstick. Bo scratches the back of his neck and sighs. He places the test and the doctor results in the top drawer and then walks back to the bedroom. "Elizabeth if you don't open this door I will break it down." Bo calls through the door. From inside he hears soft footsteps and then a click and then more footsteps. He opens the door and looks around spotting Lizzy curled up under the covers of her queen sized bed. "Do you want to explain to me what I saw?" Bo asks. "No, you saw it, even you must know what it means." Lizzy answers looking at the comforter. "Then you must know how I feel." Bo says coming around behind her and climbing into the bed. "Yeah you hate me for trapping you into this." Lizzy answers. "Hate you? Hate you?...Is someone putting these ideas in your head?" Bo asks laying his hand over Lizzy on her stomach. "Lizzy you are the most wonderful woman in the world. You always will be. As I recall it takes two to make a baby. Lizzy honey, I will always love you no matter what. We're getting married in just under five weeks. The day I say I do is going to be one of the happiest days of my life." "Bo, I don't want you to go through with this out of obligation." "Obligation? Woman I don't know where you get these ideas. I have always wanted a handful of kids. Growing up with Luke, Daisy, and Julie taught me that. We'll make this work no matter what. You see this ring?" Bo asks raising Lizzy's left hand. Lizzy nods. "I don't want that ring to come off your finger for any reason. I love you and I want to marry you and see you pregnant with my kids and be the father Belle's never had. Lizzy you know I'm in this for the long haul and I'm not gonna stop unless you really, really need me to." "Even if I want you to?" "If you want me to I'll think about it but unless I determine you need me to I'm not gonna let you walk out of my life ever again. I missed you so much those four years you were gone and I don't want to do it again. I love you and I wish you understood that." "I love you too it's just..." "No, not tonight. No if's and's or buts about it. Tonight we celebrate this miracle, and then tomorrow we discuss what we're gonna do. I do believe Daisy for the night and you know what that means?" "What?" "It means Chinese food on the coffee table and the sixth sense and maybe a little desert after wards." Bo says. Finally Lizzy looks back at Bo and smiles. "You really think we can do this?" "It means converting that play room to another bedroom or getting a new apartment but we can do anything." Bo says. Cue anyone.

"As someone once said, we're navy cops. Navel Criminal investigative services. We do investigations concerning the Navy and the Marine corp." McGee said. "I'm Officer David and this is Agent McGee. We need to ask you a few questions about..." Ziva started. "Jeb, have you heard anything from him?" Daisy asks. Cue anyone. -
"Yeah as long as I can remember." Bo says. Cue anyone.

"Where the heck were you driving it? Wait Lizzy let you drive her car?" Cooter says. "Back forty where you let Lizzy ride her four wheeler." Bo says. "One of these days that forty acres is going to be cultivated enough that I can actually plant back there." Cooter says. Cue anyone. -

"I'll ask again. Who are you?" Uncle Jesse asks. Finally catching the meaning McGee looks down. "Special Agent Timothy McGee and Officer Ziva David. We just want to ask you a few questions about your nephew." McGee says flipping out his badge and ID. "Alright then. Please come in." Uncle Jesse says stepping back. "I must warn you though. There's a sleeping baby in the house and my niece Julie has Mono." The officers enter the house and look around. "My nephew Luke, and my niece Daisy, Julie is the one on the couch. I'm sorry my other nephew Bo isn't here but he had to go up to Atlanta to do some paperwork." "Yes we met him up there. And his angry girlfriend." Ziva says. "Ah Lizzy, right ball of fire if you get her worked up." Luke says. "Do you know Lizzy well?" McGee asked. "Ever since she moved here to live with her father. She was 13 I believe." Luke says. Seeing he wasn't going to get anymore out of her Tony stood. "Thank you Ms. Davenport, if you think of anything more give me a call. Home number's on the back." Tony said handing her a business card. "It's Lizzy, Tony. And thank you for looking into this. I hope he comes soon. Hey Tony, if you find out he's alive and you talk to him...could you tell him I'm sorry?" Lizzy asks. "Sure." Tony agrees. He walks out of the room to meet Gibbs in the hallway. "Anything?" Gibbs asks. "Girlfriend's a real spitfire. Said she hasn't seen him in three years though. Also said he kept in touch with Bo and Julie rather than her. As far as she was concerned he was mad at her because she got angry he joined. They dated in High School and the last time she saw him was 11:30 prom night. Said after the fight she walked part of the way and a man named Honest John Ledbetter gave her a ride home. She was pretty adamant that she hadn't seen him since then and he left about two days after that. Concurs with his record that a bus picked him up in Hazzard to take him to Basic in South Carolina." Tony says. Cue anyone. -
"We were too little." Bo says motioning to himself and Daisy. Cue anyone.

Just then Cooter came in. "Bo Duke, Brian Davenport if either of you doesn't give me the answer I want then both of you better scram cause I'll be madder than a hornet." Cooter says. "What answer would that be?" Bo asks nervously. "Why the heck is there mud and dirt caked on my daughter's car? When I left here it was clean and now it looks like it's been through a mud pit one too many times." Cooter says. "It was Brian." Bo says. "Is that true boy?" Cooter asks. Cue anyone. -
"Which can lead to stress. Any amount of stress especially while pregnant can be dangerous. I do believe that the stress you were under while thinking about whether or not you should tell anyone caused a slight stomach ache. It's perfectly normal and I suggest you try to keep from over stressing yourself." Doc says.
