"Well thank ya for noticin..." She said sassily back.

The doctor slipped him a sly grin... "We girls can be a handful at Jaime's age..."

The doctor laughed softly, sighing. "Yeah we girls can be a handful at Jaime's age..."

She nodded softly, smiling. "Well it must have been a hard thing to take on..."

The doctor nodded with a smile. "I gathered...so how are you adjusting to being a Dad anyway..."

The doctor nodded with a smile. "Yeah he sure is...but then again some people just arn't ready to be fathers...they have lives of their own...last thing they need is some kid coming to muck everything up..."

The doctor shrugged "It depends what's wrong with him...if we can't find out who his father is or his father doesn't want to take him...then he'll either stay here for the duration of his treatment or he'll be sent to an Orphange..."

The doctor sighed and nodded. "Yeah I know...the mother didn't leave contact details or nothin'...we're tryin' to get hold of his birth certificate to find out who his father is..."

The doctor looked to him, frowning a little. "Did he say why?"

The doctor nodded, sitting down beside Luke on the bed. She had changed out of her doctor's work clothes and into normal civilian clothes - a pair of jeans and a light pink shrt. "Wonder why that is..."

The doctor frowned as she heard the name before a look of realization came over her face. "Oh Troy! I know him...I'm not his doctor but I chat with him sometimes..."

The doctor looking after Luke stepped back against the door as a blur rushed past her, frowning a little before looking to Luke. "What's going on there?"

Troy frowned deeply and scowled at him, snapping. "I ain't sick...you're just like the rest of 'em!" He hissed before darting out the room again.

"I feel fine...but they won't listen to me...they stick me with needles an' then hook me up to wierd machines..." He said quietly, freezing as he heard footsteps start to come back.

Troy looked to him worriedly, not sure whether or not to let his guard down. "They might come back..."

"6...goin' on 7..." He muttered with a slight lisp.

Troy shrugged his shoulders, continuing to glance out the door. "One minute she was there, next she was gone an' never came back I suppose..."

Troy shook his head. "Nah they ain't...I ain't got a daddy...an' mommy up an' left me when she brought me here..."

Troy bit his lip a little, swallowing softly before mumbling. "They wanna stick me wiv some needles...an' then make me stay here...I don't wanna...."

Troy frowned a little, glancing to his hand before hesitantly reaching over and shaking his hand.

The little boy looked up at him, glancing to the door before looking back to him and whispering. "Troy..."

The little boy stood up a bit more before waving a little at him. glancing nervously to the door.

For a moment nothing happened...until a small blonde mop of hair popped up to Luke's right.

Just then, a couple of doctors ran down the hallway, peeking in every room - including Luke's - but not seeing anyone there apart from the patient, continued on until eventually Luke couldn't hear them anymore.

Not too soon after the doctor left, a small shriek came from down the corridor....followed by the patter of running footsteps...then a blur of colour entered Luke's room and dived under the bed.
