The nurse blushed a little and nodded.

The nurse shifted a little before pulling out a small piece of paper. "I'm gettin' off my shift this mornin'...could you...possibly...give him this..."

The nurse nodded, before biting her lip a little and heading back into the room. "Was that blonde guy here yesterday related to you?"

"There we go sir...the doctor will be in to check on you a little later then you'll be discharged." The nurse said kindly.

*Present Day* Before Luke knew it, a nurse was lowering his foot down from traction in the morning, placing it onto a pillow.

More tears fell fast down her cheeks as she held him close, rocking him gently. "I love you too Luke...I do...but the good lord decides when its peoples time and its my time soon...he's given me so many wonderful things in my time here...most importantly...he sent you to me...I've watched you do so many great things...I'm very proud of you..."

Lavinia couldn't help it as tears slid down her cheeks at his words, her heart breaking a little for her nephew who had become more like a son to her. "Luke...sweetheart....death is a part of life...I can't live forever..."

Lavinia closed her tearing up eyes, pulling Luke closer until the 15 year old was sitting in her lap just like when he was a little kid. "Oh come here Luke...my little boy..."

Lavinia bit her lip gently before answering softly. "I love you too sweetheart..."

Lavinia swallowed softly and cuddled Luke close, resting her head gently on top of his. She hated to think what the kids were going to act like when she was gone...

Lavinia smiled gently with a small sigh and nodded. "Course sweetheart...just...remember that okay..."

Lavinia smiled softly, running a hand through his dark locks. "Luke...i'm not gonna be around forever...we already know that my days here are numbered...but sweetheart if there's one piece of advice I want to leave you with...its to always be confident with girls and the ones you love...it may hurt to tell someone you love them and find out those feelings arn't recipricated back...but its hurts more to wonder what kind of life you could have had but know you can't because you were too shy to do anything about it..."

Lavinia sighed softly "I'm not a mind reader Luke...I can't tell you that...but she might have done...you don't know until you ask and are honest with each other..."

"I know Luke...but that was a long time ago...this is now..." She said softly.

"Have you ever asked her?" She enquired softly. "Sometimes, the best person in the world for you can be sitting right in front of your eyes...and yet you don't do anything because either you both think the other doesn't feel the same way...or something happens that means you just can't be together...and suddenly you realize your just too late..."

Lavinia bit her lip softly, nodding slightly. "Well...then i recon you gotta decide...what it is you want to do about those feelings..."

Lavinia nodded softly, rubbing his arm a little. "How do you feel about her..."

Lavinia smiled softly, slipping an arm around his shoulder. "You think?"

Lavinia nodded softly. "Any particular reason why you're worried about her more than any other girl that would run out the school doors cryin'..."

Lavinia however refused to let him go, sitting him down on the couch. "Luke...i'm not going to let you go and mope in your room...now Bo's not here...nor is your Uncle...just talk to me..."

Lavinia regarded him for a minute, putting down her knife and fork and getting him down from the table, leading him to the lounge. "No your not...come on talk to me..."

Lavinia looked to him, frowning slightly. "You feelin' ókay?"

Lavinia nodded, not saying anything more on the matter. She knew Luke had to learn some things for himself, especially when it came to dealing with women.

"Well just because she doesn't want you there now doesn't mean she'll feel the same way tomorrow..."

"Alright alright...but still...everyone gets frustrated and the coach has a whole team to deal with...why not get some one on one coaching for Jenni and be there to make sure things dont get out of hand...offer her some support..." Lavinia reasoned gently.
