moustache: Tool used for navagation (this comes from 'One Armed Bandits' junkyard scene: Luke says: "Burt Reynolds never got lost" Bo replies "Burt Reynolds had a moustache")

    Posseum-on-a-gumbush: (see buzzards-on-a-buzzsaw)

Schuck 'n' Jive: To mislead, fool, deceive and outsmart

  2. Just curious do you remember the names of specific episodes where you have heard they were on probation for only 2 years? I've never heard this but maybe I missed something.

    Brandy

I had thought that I heard it mentioned a lot in the first season episodes. However, I got my DVDs out and scanned through them to find it. I could not find it. What I did find were several times where either Boss or Rosco mentioned that they could get the Duke boys probation revoked for one reason or another and have them locked up for 2 years. So I'm thinking that I may have been confused in my memory there. My mistake. Sorry about that ya all.

  3. I can't explain the blooper in (DSW) shoot lol I never have gotten the math all figured out to come up with the right years of when the boys got the General Lee. Don't they say in One Armed Bandits that the boys got put on probation the year before? Well if that's true and that would have been '78 how come in Happy B'day General Lee the Balledeer says that the boys was even on probation back then? Explain that if you can I'd really like to know.

    Brandy

Brandy's question made me think of one of my own. In several episodes I have heard it mentioned that Bo and Luke were on probation for 2 years. The show ran from '79 to '85 which is 6 years. How come they were still on probation in the last season?

  4. The official Dukesfest is June 3rd-4th, in Nashville. There will be other small events over the course of the summer. There's one in Arkansas, some in Texas, another one in Canada, and I think one in Georgia every year.

I did not know that there were other Dukefest type events other than the official one. Could you please post more info. on these other events or some links to where the info. can be found? Would very much appreciate it.

  5. My first set of questions is

My celebrity has dark hair and puts up with lot from the other people in the county.

He is the boss over other people.

Question, those clues you posted; are you talking about the person's character on a show (puts up with a lot from others....boss over people)

or his real life? Or are we suposed to figure that out for ourselves?

Which is fine if that's the case. just wondering.

  6. Hello everyone. I finally figured out how to set up my computer so that I can get into chat rooms. Now my only problem is that I can never catch anyone in the chat room on this site. I can see from browsing some of the other topics in this forum that I am not the only one with this problem.

I am proposing a solution. I would like to know if it'd be possible to set up a weekly chat night. Something like every Thursday or every Monday, whatever.

I am pretty much free any night but I don't know about the rest of you.

If you would be interested in a regular weekly chat night to talk about DOH, or anything that's on your mind, please respond to this post. In your response, let me know what night or nights of the week would work for you as a weekly chat night and give a time frame if possible, such as 7pm to 8pm, or whatever (please tell if your talking eastern standard time, central time or whatever)

I will use the info. to figure out what night and time is best for the majority of users. I will then post the night and time frame for the chat.

I realize that people on this site are from all over, so to make it easy for everyone to know when chat time is, I will list the time of the chat for all time zones that I can. For example if the chat night was set for Monday, beginning 8pm eastern time, I would list it as Monday, 8pm eastern/7pm central/6pm pacific, and so on.

I hope that this will work to solve the problem of not being able to catch each other for chat. So everyone who's interested, please post when you are available so I can figure out what night and time to set this for. Thanks

  7. I don't know why, but I like a song titled, "Anything Goes" by Gary Moris.

This is the only song by this singer that I lilke. I don't know why I like it.

It is a very sad song about utter hopelessness and despair. I am usually a pretty positive person, so this song in no way reflects my mood or personality. I think maybe I like it just because it delivers a strong message about what can happen when a person reaches the point of total hopelessness and therefore reminds us all that we should try to help one another as much as possible to make the world a better place. Any way, here's the song:

    Anything Goes by Gary Moris:

There's a man on the street,

with a gun in his hands

and his backs against the wall

    He's got kids to feed,

he doesn't know if he'll be able to steal at all

    Tommorrow he'll be front page news;

    you'll see it on tv,

how a father of five was killed last night, attempted robbery

    Anything goes when everythings gone

    when you lose all hope,

there aint no right or wrong

You can reach out, but you can't hold on

cause if anything goes, then everythings gone

There's a lady I know who sells herself

    at the paradise cafe`

As a girl they called her angel,

    but angel drifted away

Somewhere in time, she crossed the line,

    her feelings are all gone;

Now for a price she'll warm a strangers bed,

with a heart that's cold as stone

    Anything goes when everythings gone

when you lose all hope, there aint no right or wrong

You can reach out, but you can't hold on

cause if anything goes then everythings gone

    There's a world outside that seldom sleeps;

Well they've got guns and we got guns,

Who will be the first to draw,

    While up on high the powers fly;

    the numbers are so small

    And with one mistake,

    all the damms will break'

    then God, help us all

    Anything goes when everthings gone

when you lose all hope, there ain't no right or wrong

you can reach out, but you can't hold on

cause if anything goes, then everythings gone

  8. I was watching the ep..."$10 million dollar sheriff"..and thought...about the scene where Steele-steals the General and replaces it with his...Isn't HE doing the stealing in the first place?

    Anymore weird or unnoticed scenes??

This is true, but some times the shows bloopers or misconceptions of reality worked in favor of the Duke boys. Think about all the episodes where Bo and Luke escaped from jail. In all of Boss Hoggs efforts to frame the Duke boys or otherwise get them locked up, he never charged them with escape. Technically, in real life, escaping from jail is a felony. LOL.

  9. Okay, so I'm bored. Just for fun, I'm proposing a little game. Let's say it's a guessing game. Let's see if we can guess facts about each other if clues are provided.

Here's how it would work: One states what it is they want people to try to guess about themself (this can be anything, such as your age, your job, birth city, etc.). They then provide a few clues and other people use those clues to try and guess.

Anyone can participate. You may participate in a number of ways: 1. You can just provide clues to get others to guess something about you but not try to guess about other participants. 2. You may just try to guess the answer to other participants clues but not post anything for anyone to guess about you. 3. You may both try to guess other participants clues and post your own clues for people to guess something about you.

All participants post all their clues and/or guesses to this forum.

If you are posting clues for people to guess something about you, be creative and make it as challenging as you can. For example, if you say,"guess my age", do not list the year you were born as a clue, that's to easy, instead you could say who the president was when you were born and what the fashion trends were or something like that.

When someone guesses the right answer to someones's clues, the person who posted the clues should respond with a post to let everyone know.

Of course we will all have to go on the honor system here. Also, sorry but there are no prizes offered for correct guesses. This is just for fun and a way to get to know each other a little better.

Since this was my crazy idea, I guess I'll start this off:

I have never officially met any, but I have seen one celebrity in person. Can anyone guess who?

    Clues:

    This celeb is male

I once saw him on a tv show playing the role of a serial killer, which is quite unlike the roles he usually plays

    He is married

    He is tall

That's all the clues I am offering for now. Good luck all.

I hope some of you participate!

  10. I was four years old in '79 when the Dukes first aired. I remember watching the show and loving it. I liked it more than cartoons or anything else. I never missed it. I was disappointed when they canceled the show.

Then they had it on TNN for a while, I was upset because we did not have cable. So I only got to see an episode here and there when I was at some one elses house at the right time and they happened to be watching it. Ironically, I was talking to a friend of mine about the Dukes just a couple of months before the episodes starting airing on CMT. I was saying to her that I wished the Dukes were on tv again and how great that would be. So, I was delighted to hear CMT announce the return of the Dukes a couple of months later.

There are many shows that I used to watch and enjoy but at some point I sort of outgrew them or they just got old and tiresome and I quit watching them. There are shows that I some times watch and some times don't.

However, the Dukes of Hazzard is my most favorite show ever. It has been my favorite since it first aired way back in '79 and it remains my favorite to this day. I believe it always will be. It is the only show that I can say that I have enjoyed for most of my life. It is the only that I never get tired of and probably never will.

DOH is truely a delightful show. It teaches good family values and morels. Along with this, it also has lots of action and good clean humor. This makes for a show that anyone young or old, male or female can watch and enjoy. What more can you ask for in a show?
