  1. Hi Gang! Let me be the first to break in this new forum!! LOL So heres some Season 1 Trivia for all you DOHers... One Armed Bandits: 1. Who was driving the Sheriff's car? 2. Where did Bo & Luke meet their friends? 3. Who was also running for Sheriff? 4. What was Luke using the re-election posters for? 5. What is the name of the prison guard (deputy) that took Daisy to the restroom? 6. Name the roads Bo & Luke's friends were staked out on. 7. On what side of the head does Bo get hit by Daisy's tray? 8. What is the design on Daisy's handbag when she is distracting the two fertilizer truck drivers? Post your answers and if someone gets it right Ill have more questions! Thanks for playing! Jax
  2. Brian-- Thanks for posting this. I went ahead and sent my email in. I feel horrible that Tom and John are being drug through the mud over all of this. The NAACP should at least watch one show before they decide that the show is racist. Theyre probably just going by the flag alone, which again is ridiculous. I just hope it can get straightened out and the show will be back on. I encourage everyone to email or call the Pops, let them know how wrong they are. Jax
  3. LOL...yeah and if Luke hadnt gotten his hand out, it might literally have been pure poultry in motion or worse... Then again Lulu didnt get arrested for manhandling a turkey! Imagine Rosco having to arrest her? Gives a whole new meaning to cuff ya and stuff ya...
  4. Sense of family was better, characters were better... Add a few more chases and more than one jump and it'd be all right. But I do have one big suggestion, keep Lulu Hogg away from poultry of any kind...LOL.
  5. Call me crazy but I didn't 100% hate this movie! Now I know that this might make some of you upset, let me explain. I did wince when I heard about this, most of us did, but that was in part thanks to the way the 2005 Jessica Simpson, Sean William Scott, Johnny Knoxville movie was done. And I will admit seeing the previews for it on the ABC Family with Bo and Luke donning dresses didn't exactly inspire my confidence either. But trying to be as impartial as possible, my husband and I sat down to watch it. I have to admit that though it wasn't what we all grew up with, it was a lot more palatable then the 2005 movie! Though there were some things that I didn't get, like for example why Luke had this obsession with explosives. On the tv show, Luke and Bo did use dynamite arrows, but this Luke's every thought seemed to be centered around TNT, bombs and the uses of nitroglycerin. Bo was his usual hormonal self, but I did see the seed of Bo being the excellent driver we all know being sewn with his behind the wheel antics. LOL After all, great drivers didn't start off great and Bo clearly was no exception. I did like this Daisy a lot better than Jessica Simpson. April Scott played Daisy the way we all know her, sweet, showing some toughness, a strong sense of family but not the high-heeled almost bully way Jessica portrayed her. Another plus was the fact that Uncle Jesse actually spoke more words this time around instead of just bad jokes. Chris McDonald was all right as Boss: greedy, chubby and obsessed with money...His plans were up to par as was his framing of his nephew for the crime. LOL He did a lot better job then Burt Reynolds. Rosco had his moments of humor and his puppy was adorable. I did have a flash of James Best when I saw the badge pinned to his robe. Sorry Harland Williams, there's only one Rosco and he ain't you LOL. Speaking of the family, that is one way in which I thought this one was better than the 2005 movie, these Dukes had a family sense a lot more than the movie did. They did seem to have affection, the boys grappling with each other, their sense of protection for Daisy when she gets her heart broken, wanting to get Uncle Jesse out of the pokey etc. I really liked the fact the boys had a bit of a spat and parted ways briefly. That fight was very much the Bo and Luke that we knew, as was the way they made up. It was a brief very Duke moment that made me turn to my husband and say.. now that's Bo and Luke! He agreed. And yes the movie did have its fill of stuff I expected, sex jokes, toilet humor...and believe it or not, some rather racy humor involving Sherilynn Fenn and poultry! I can't imagine what the unrated version is going to be like considering all the sex jokes that got left in LOL. But overall, I'd have to say that it wasn't that bad. A decent enough movie that I might even considering buying it when it comes out on DVD. For those of you that may ask why I'd buy it...this movie was a lot closer to the Dukes that we grew up with then the 2005 big screen version. Will this make those of you that didn't see it buy the DVD? It might or it might not, but just let me say this...don't turn your nose up at it sight unseen. I know I was surprised by it and some of you might be as well. Jax
  6. When it comes to DOH sites, Ive been with Hnet since it was knee high to a grasshopper. In my opinion its the best DOH website out there and always will be. No one can touch Hnet and MeadowMufn, Brian and MaryAnne have invested years in this place to make it what it is today and for that, I know I speak for all of us when I say THANK YOU!! As for the Official DOH fan club, its never struck my interest really, why go there when Hnet has more to offer? Never have been impressed with the official club before and I doubt it can strike my fancy now. After reading Brian's post, Im really not impressed with the official club. In fact, it sounds like a huge ripe off! I think I'll take your advice Brian and save my fifteens bucks for the real place thats for DOH fans, Dukesfest! Jax
  7. Hey Gang! MSN came out with a list of tv shows that were campy and fun. Two of my favorites are on here, MacGyver and The Dukes of Hazzard. For those of you interested in the article: http://tv.msn.com/tv/tvcamp-1?GT1=7703 LOL I thought it was good list! Enjoy! Jax
  8. Brian--- Of course I can write a story! Have written many since coming to Hazzard and one will be ready by February 6th. Umm...Brian, thats Daisy Duke, her Jeep Dixie. As for the boys, Bo is the blond and Luke is the dark haired one... Hope that helps jump start your story! Min
  9. Brian--- Some of those misguided loyalists are still in Hnet and will rally to your side once again... Min
  10. Min too had heard the approaching horses. Though with MaryAnne, Rosco, Chet, Doc and the Strate twins, they were more than ready if that was BlackJack and his gang of men. Her knees shook a little and she glanced around the room wanting her long rifle and quickly snatched it up. She held the stock so tightly her knuckles were white, waiting for whoever it was to make their appearance. When the dusty form of first Luke and then Bo appeared in the office, she closed her eyes and sighed audibly in relief. Once again placing her rifle on the Sheriff's desk, she listened to what her cousin had to say and took a cautious step towards the door. Gazing up at the hills she imagined Brian atop his black horse and a small smile came to her face. Luke mentioning he had an idea brought her attention back from lingering thoughts of the black clad outlaw to the trouble at hand, BlackJack and his men. Min gazed at her dark haired cousin. Whatever idea he had, she hoped it wouldnt involve something dangerous for the Brian. Though a tough outlaw, he still was recovering from a bullet wound in his side. "Sentry duty? You mean you want Brian to go combing the woods for BlackJack or did you have something else in mind?" (Cue Luke or anyone!)
  11. *Hardy applause, standing ovation...* Very well put Val! I applaud what you said and its 100 % true. Just because some of us werent born when the Dukes originally aired, or were very young when they did, doesn't make us less of a fan. And not all of us own General Lees but our DOH memorabilia that we do have is just as precious. Thank you Val Jax
  12. I think that us Duke fans need to make up our own mind as to whether or not we buy this. And if we do decide to check it out, it does not make us any less of a DOH Fan.
  13. Daney-- Not every camera is made for underwater photography. Get the Kodak out of the bathtub... Jax
  14. Brian-- First off... holy--! Okay I wont use any bad language here but man that was creepy! Im glad you came through in one piece and didnt end up being a swampy Coltrane. Youre right this is the time of year for scares and lots of them, I myself am a huge fan of scary movies so you know this is one of my favortie times of year. My reasoning is simple...things are starting to fall asleep, hybernating for the cooler weather and the appraoch of the long winter. Then when it does come, the ground is cold and everything is in a peaceful repose waiting for the warm sun to once again awaken it. I like that...being asleep and waking up to start life again, things are reborn for a fresh new start. But anyway... you mentioned the dark and the scary things that are there and yes while it is true that things do go bump in the night, here's a tale of a good daylight scare... When I was four years old, I had a death in the family. My mother's youngest brother, who was only fifteen, got sucked into a pipe while wading in a drainage ditch and died. I never met him but there are loads of family photos and a few videos of him playing with me so I do know his face. Growing up, I knew that Uncle Raul was always around, things would fall off shelves, foosteps heard on the carpeted hall, whispered names...but I seemed to be the only family member that experienced any of these things. Though a little annoying and sometimes scary, I knew who it was and that Uncle Raul would never hurt me. Though he always made himself known, occassionally flipping off the kitchen light while doing dishes and knocking a gallon jar full of ice tea all over my floor, I had never laid eyes on my mischevious uncle. That is until one day... The back part of my house once served as a seperate apartment complete with entertainment center, ETC. While back there one day, my two dogs and I were enjoying a little daytime TV. Here I am harmlessly flipping channels when suddenly my two dogs start to growl and every hair on them starts to stand on end. Naturally I got a little alarmed, especially when they both seemed focus on the far side of the room near the door that led into the rest of the house. I caught movement out of the corner of my eye and with my heart slamming into my ribs I slowly turned my head in that direction. What I saw there literally made my mouth drop open and my breath catch in my chest.... A young teenage boy walked across the floor. He turned to look at me and gave a grin before he vanished right into the door. Naturally I was too scared to do anything but gawk, not believing what my eyes had seen. He was sort of tall, wore faded blue jeans and a green sweater. After a moment or two I managed to breathe again, get up from the couch and despite my trembling legs I went into the house. As I headed inside with that image so plain as day to me, a sudden thought stopped me. Why did that kid look so familar? As I once again started to move, I went through the kitchen into the living room where my mother sat watching tv. I guess the look in my face was just like the ones in the movies because she turned to me, blinked and said... You look like youve just seen a ghost! I said...um I think I did. I then looked at her and asked.. Mom, what was Uncle Raul wearing the day he died? My mom sort of shrugged and said, well he had on jeans and a sweater. Still looking at me puzzled, I asked if the sweater was green. My mother's eyes got big and she asked how I knew that. Without hesitating and as seriously as I could I told her... I just saw him in the backroom and he went through the door. Now she was the one that looked stunned and questioned me thoroughly about what I had seen. Digging into a photo album, she produced the last known photo of my uncle and sure enough...that was the teenage kid I saw walking across my floor. Is my uncle still in my house? Oh yes...Raul is fond of playing tricks on me, but for the most part hes sort of a comforting presence that I've learned to get along with. When he gets too bad I simply say.. Raul...I think youve had enough fun... and things settle down for awhile LOL. As Brian said, you dont necessarily have to fork out ten bucks for a scary movie, or go walking through a cemetary for a good scare. Sometimes scary things can happen in broad daylight and in your own home! LOL Jax
  15. Paging new topic... new topic to the white courtesy phone... I seem to recall MaryAnne asking you two guys to stop kicking dirt on each other's boots...seems to me that hasn't stopped since its getting cloudy over here... *cough, waving hand in front of face* Jax
  16. You might be a redneck if.... You might be a redneck if you have season tickets to a tractor pull! You might be a redneck if the Cracker Barrel has wanted posters hanging with pictures of you and your friends! You might be a redneck if the color hemi-orange makes up more than 50% of your wardrobe! And my personal favorite... You might be a redneck if your yearly vacation is going to Dukesfest! Yeehaw! Jax
  17. Hey Gang! Here is the cover for season 7.... Thought I'd pass it along... http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=6232 Jax

  19. My Dukesfest experience was .... AWESOME!!! INCREDIBLE!!! UNFORGETTABLE!! And wild horses wouldn't keep me from going next year or the year after! I'm Dukesfest bound every year from now on! Im sorry but there is no better way to put it! The festival was great, General Lees as far as the eyes could see and we probably held the world's record for the most centered location for the color orange EVER! Yes the weather was hot, but I live in Texas we're used to hot! The city of Nashville was gorgeous and the only real complaint I had was the construction that got me lost every time I left the confines of my hotel. I stood in line for 5 hours for John's autograph and the indoor building really made it go much faster. On Sunday, the gang of girls and I got into the festival and headed for the grandstand. We got front row seats that we held onto all day so we had great seats for the stage shows and for the stunt show. Just a tip for all you future Dukefesters... showing up early and staking out good seats DOES pay off! LOL. The group of us took turns getting up and walking around, getting food and drinks and the occasional need for a bathroom break. But all of that was worth it when we were nose to nose with the cast when they came onto the stage! I got to meet my childhood hero, got to drive across the country and see new places and I got to spend a few days with half a dozen of the greatest people in the world that I care for very, very deeply. (You know who you are girls, take a bow!) And on one more note, I’d just like to say that meeting all of my fellow DOH-ers was a dream come true and a truly wonderful touching experience Ill keep with me for the rest of my life. I’ll never forget the group of us going to dinner and that particular meal brings to mind something I should send to Jeff Foxworthy’s You know you’re a redneck if… You know you’re a redneck if you almost get thrown out of a Cracker Barrel for disturbing the peace, committing assault with deadly fried okra, and if you hear banjos in your head. Amen Jeff, Amen…
  20. Hey Gang-- There were two articles that appeared in the Nashville newspaper about Dukefest. Here are the links to both of them: http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2006606020334 http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2006606040389 Check out the articles!! LOL Jax
  21. Hey Gang! Posted on the IMDB.com news wire... Warner Bros. Cranks Out 10-15 Direct-to-Video Movies Warner Bros. is planning to release 10-15 low-budget movies a year directly to DVD, most of them sequels or prequels to theatrical movies, the Los Angeles Times reported today (Tuesday). The studio's first release will be a sequel to 2005's The Dukes of Hazzard, which will be produced for about $5 million or less and will not include the original cast members of the movie. The studio is expected to focus on producing sequels to films that performed relatively well at the box office but not well enough to warrant a theatrical sequel. Interesting huh? Straight to video.... What do you guys think? Jax
  22. Hi Gang! This was on the E online news wire, I thought Id pass it along... FROM LAGUNA TO HAZZARD COUNTY: Kristin Cavallari being eyed to take over Jessica Simpson's role as Daisy Duke in an upcoming prequel to The Dukes of Hazzard, the film's producer tells People. Based on their shared MTV reality star status, we'd say their acting skills are equally execrable. Seems like another movie got a green light to me... Jax
