  2. The 79/80 model was used in 'Smokey 2'
  3. Just have a look at these Now the orange Discovery has a '01' on the doors
  4. I thought it was a 1978 model Apparantly the main driving sequence car had the 454ci from one of the 55 Chevvys used in 'American Grafitti' & 'Two-Lane Blacktop' installed
  5. I thought 'Hugger Orange ' was the colour mention in the 'Unofficial Guide To The...'
  6. Absolutely marvellous So typically British in its humour Even the Americans will laugh
  7. Certainly differant for a Lotus. Is it a mark 1, or 2?? Did you ever see the 1.3 Marina coupe that the magazine 'Practical Classics' painted orange, wth the flag & called 'Generally' It was superb, I'll have to find it, scan the pic & e-mail it to you
  8. 'Crazy_C' I don't know if you know, but you can't legally fit musical air-horns onto any car registered in the UK after 1.1.73 Sorry, besides they'd hide the engine in a Matiz
  9. You're only 40minutes down the M1 then Someone's done it to a Discovery already MMmm, just noticed there's no 'Add Photo' option If you're into Landis, try the 'Mud-Club' link below (free) & there's quite a few Yorkshire members & some in Sheffield
  10. I don't know if anyone has seen/heard this one before, but it makes me smile http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~blagger/the_duel.html Look out for 'The General'
  11. Absolutely marvellous film. The cinematography for the title sequence is second to none; "Arizona. Noon, On the 7th of June When They Eye-balled Over The Pass Bulldog MackWith A Can On The Back And A 'Jag-war' Haulin' Ass" There's 3 versions of the title song (or there was here in the UK) The 45rpm single The soundtrack version The movie version (surpisingly the soundtack LP had a missing verse, or was it 2 verses??) It really could have done with a part 2 Here's a A Nice Little Site for anyone who's interested. I like the bonnet mascots (sorry!!, Hood )
  12. Hi, from Yorkshire. I watch it when I get the chance Which county are you in?
  13. Great film As you say; James Best Plus; Jan Michael Vincent (Air-Wolf) Adam West; as himself (the TV Batman) The closing sequence was certainly a one-taker, it'd be too much to rebuild
  14. I know that there's seemingly hundreds of General Lee replicas on your side of the Atlantic, BUT..... Has anyone ever done a 'Snowman' replica Kenworth W900 & semi-trailer??? That would definately be a sight to see Jerry Reeds (official) web-site
  15. Why, thank you kind young Miss.
  16. Evening , 'Newbie' here What an awesome film, I was watching it again a couple of nights ago. I think it was the first film Harrison Ford made?? And as for the cars Milners (Paul LeMat) Deuce is one of the coolest cars on screen The 55 of Falfas (Ford) was previously used in 'Two-Lane Blacktop' Do you all know about these 2 sites??? Kathys site Mels Drive-In
  17. It's an Akubra, an Australian 'bush-hat', the model is the Sombrero. It does look like the Mexican Sombrero when they're made, it was shaped that way. Go to the 'Mud-Club' link (& any of my postings), or to my Website (look on 'Miscellania, People & Friends' for a better picture)
  18. Good Evening Julie (it's 21:10 our time here) Thankyou for the rapid response, yes petrol's dear as about 70% of it is tax I'm glad my Land Rover Discovery is diesel, as it does almost 30mpg on it (as is the wifes company car)
  19. Hello to all you fine people out there. There doesn't appear to be a 'New Members' forum, so I've posted here I've only recently found this site & decided to join. I reside in the northern section of England in the fair county of Yorkshire. In response to what may be one of the first questions anyone asks; Yes there's a few 'General' replicas over here, but only 1 original studio car that I know of & that's in a museum My main automotive delight over here is Land Rovers, being on my 4th. However, I'm off to drive a TVR Griffith 500 for my 40th birthday very soon (its performance makes a Viper look sissy ) Yes, I'd love a 69 Charger. (who wouldn't??), but with our petrol at US $7.70 a gallon (Uk gallon is bigger), it's not entirely practical That's circa US $1.70/litre
