  1. It's not that hard. And I'll definitely agree that watching John Schneider do it is a good way to learn. It didn't take me long to get used to it. It's been a while now since I've done it, but once my car gets out of the shop, I'll be able to do it right again. I'm 6' 2" and John Schneider is an inch taller than me, and we fit through the windows just fine.
  2. Without question, they SHOULD have had... Dierks Bentley as Bo. Sara Evans as Daisy. I get the vibe from both of these two that they really are kind of similar to those characters in real life. Probably Danny Devito as Boss Hogg, and someone really talented as Rosco. The rest, it's hard to say, but I'd prefer unknowns, it forces them to make a good movie instead of selling names.
  3. Most bad reviews of the series and the movie are from people who take a glance and say "Oh, those dumb rednecks." Ironically, their biggest complaint is how rednecks stereotype people.
  4. Yeah, but why were the super troopers after them? They not only did nothing wrong, but there also wasn't motivation for the campus police or real police to pursue them.
  5. Cooter's comment was something like "I couldn't fix everything" implying that the doors were still broken. They should have been welded, since the car was used for racing even before then.
  6. The Holland jump, definitely. The other ones seemed to suffer from slowing down on their approach. The Holland one was floored the whole way. It gives the car a better launch.
  7. That's why it bothered me that all the black guys were expected to hate the flag. The message it sent was that all black people are stupid as hell. Which isn't true. I think most black folks know better than that.
  8. I thought the "white after Labor Day" line was dumb. For one, it ISN'T after Labor Day, and the guy had no reason to make a jab at Burt. After all, he just made an easy $100 off him. The real Boss wouldn't have paid, and then they guy would have been motivated to make a comment like that.
  9. Well, when I saw the scene it made me angry. People don't just shout "redneck" they say stuff like "Don't be late for your KKK meeting" and "welcome to the 21st century a..hole." It was highly offensive, but I managed to shrug it off once I remembered that the scene only existed because of the anti-South attitude of Hollywood and this scene was the compromise that kept the flag on the car. As dumb as the scene is, I found comfort in the fact that without it, we'd have a neutered (a.k.a. South-hating) version of the General Lee. There is also a scene in which a group of black inner city thugs want to pick a fight with them, and we're expected to assume that all black people are grossly ignorant when it comes to the flag. Ironically, this attempt at political correctness gives the message that black people are uneducated, but at least we know better than to fall for that. A young kid seeing the movie may walk away having been convinced, however. Aside from that, the flag issue isn't mentioned. I was able to block it out of my mind while I watched the rest of the movie, mainly because it meant that the flag wasn't compromised, instead a racist scene "justified" it. I still recommend you see the movie. Don't let them (Hollywood morons) ruin it for you.
  10. I expected him to promise to pay, the guy gets knocked out, then he doesn't pay. THAT'S Boss Hogg! It would have made the "white after Labor Day" comment make more sense, because then he's shouting something to slam the guy who ripped him off. Plus, it IS before Labor Day.

  12. Brady Bunch doesn't really have much of a loyal fanbase. I mean, If there is such a thing as "BradyFest" I'm sure turnout is minimal. This movie will be huge. For one, the number one movie right now is Sky High. Which means, The Dukes of Hazzard will have NO competition. Even people who don't like it will see it twice just because there's nothing out right now. And the movie will be fun. But with a better cast, writers, and director, it would have put Star Wars to shame (well, close anyway). So, all the people who say "See? It's a hit movie! Take that you naysayers!" Keep in mind that being the #2 movie of the summer is basically a given with a movie titled "The Dukes of Hazzard."

  14. This movie will mop up the floor, probably being the second biggest film of the summer (The first being Star Wars). For one, it's has NO competition, everything else out right now sucks. And the other reason: General Lee.

  16. No matter the coolness of action scenes, nothing is more poignant than that horn.
