RogerDuke
I just watched two hours of CMAs Country Music Festival last night and I'm more convinced than ever that country music is dead. There were a few exceptions but basically those two hours were a rock/pop festival. Country and Western was what country used to be called but when the western part faded out, the western name was dropped. Marty Robbins was probably the last western singer. I think country should consider changing its name again since only about 20% of it is really "country" and that number drops every year. Thank goodness there's still a few country singers out there. I did enjoy their performances last night. But it appears their time in the spotlight is limited. Eventually they'll go the way of bluegrass. There will always be someone who likes that kind of music but less and less each year.
