DaneyDuke
Moonrunners. The best place to get a copy is ebay, vhs or "bootleg" dvd can be found. About the only other option is if you can find someone who taped it when AMC aired it a few years ago and they'd be willing to make you a copy. 1hellraiser
The Moonrunners was a sequel, to Thunder Road. It came out in the late 50's, and had Robert Mitchum, and James Mitchum, (the "luke char. on the moonrunners).
DaneyDuke
1hellraiser, that's the first time I've heard that the movie was a sequel. Would you mind sharin' a little more detail if it's available online. Thank you. Dixie, Both good scenes you mentioned. =) Daney
1hellraiser
ok yall your in luck, copied this from amazon: "The preeminent moonshine movie, the 1958 Thunder Road stars Robert Mitchum as a backwoods bootlegger in Tennessee, getting squeezed by both the federal government and organized crime. Mitchum had a big hand in creating this cult favorite (which reportedly played in drive-ins around America for years), writing the script, producing the movie, and even composing and singing the movie's theme song, which became a radio hit. Directed by longtime cinematographer Arthur Ripley, the film is strong on characters and action, the latter fulfilled by a memorable chase scene at the end. Mitchum was at an artistic peak at this point in his career, and this is really an indispensable movie for his fans. --Tom Keogh --This text refers to the VHS Tape edition. "It is on dvd, for 14.00 I think.
Capt_Redneck
I never heard Moonrunners called a sequal before... Yes Robert Mitchum's son James was in the movie Moonrunners, but not Robert Mitchum. They used the phrase " Thunder Road was only a practice run. This is the real thing." I think that was a way to get people who liked Thunder Road to come and see it .
Meadowmufn
If I'm not mistaken, Moonrunners is based on the exploits of Jerry Rushing, who by the way played Ace Parker in the Dukes episode "Repo Men". That would probably rule it out as a sequel to Thunder Road.MeadowmufnHazzardNet Proprietor
