Brian Coltrane
Turns out, 13 is a lucky number. This surviving stunt-car General Lee is going to be auctioned on 12/15/11. We have a full write-up on our home page, but it's worth mentioning here too. Have a look:Yes, there is still damage on the car, though it has been partially restored. For all the details and to get in on the bidding, visit the auction website. Who's buying this General? I'm about $39,000 short.....give r' take. HossC
I see the description of the jail sign says "Exhibits slight scuffs ..." - I don't anyone would doubt that this had an authentic connection to Rosco .
Brian Coltrane
I see the description of the jail sign says "Exhibits slight scuffs ..." - I don't anyone would doubt that this had an authentic connection to Rosco .Bahahaha! Good one.It really says something when the smallest piece of anything Dukes related goes for that kind of money. $1500 for a small metal sign? Wow. It's a shame that the General Lee couldn't prove its screen pedigree, though. But I'm glad it was pulled from auction rather than sold under any possible misrepresentation. LEE 1 comes to mind, there. I'd love to see a document that identified what original parts remain on the car.
