HossC Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Supercars are auctioning a rare (only 8 made) 1:18 dirty 22ct gold model of General Lee on eBay.http://cgi.ebay.com/1969-GENERAL-LEE-CHARGER-1-18-Gold-Plated-1-8-/260642294899?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Diecast_Vehicles&hash=item3caf7dcc73Get in quick - the auction ends August 11th. Just so you know - last year they auctioned 2 equally rare clean 22ct gold Generals which went for about €1500 a piece. In case you read this after the auction finishes - here's what you missed: Quote
HossC Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 Well y'all, bidding has just finished. After spending the last 5 days at $500, a flurry of last-minute bids saw it go for the 'bargain' price of $1025.Before you ask, it wasn't me who bought it. Bidders had to be in the US, besides which I was about $1000 short:). Quote
Meadowmufn Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Holy moly. Nice sale. Wish I had that kinda pocket change. LOL. Quote
HossC Posted 21 minutes ago Author Posted 21 minutes ago I recently mentioned in the General Lee Pedal Car thread that I'd looked up the current asking prices for some rare Dukes diecast models, but I'd forgotten about this one. Believe it or not, there's one on eBay at the moment for just $10,000 (or best offer). That's not a bad return on an invest over 16 years, but of course it all depends on finding someone prepared to pay that much. Quote
