Janny giggled and nodded with a smile.

"Course I can...I'l get on doing those right away."

"Thanks," said Luke, paying her for the ice cream, with a glance to Zac who stood beside him still clutching his monkey.

Zac was once more looking round the place, gazing at the cars going by and the people walking round the square. He watched the dogs that walked by with their owners, watched cats scamper up trees...things he had never really noticed or seen before.

Eventually, Luke got the ice creams going back to the table and setting the large banana split before Zac. "Hope it don't ruin your supper....but here..." He handed him a spoon. "Enjoy...you too George," he added as he ate his own cone.

Zac looked up as Luke came back over, his little eyes widening at the sight of the treat.

"S'all for me an George?"

Luke smiled nodding. "Just promise me George won't eat so much he makes himself sick..."

Zac nodded gently, letting go of George with one hand to get the spoon.

"He won't..."

Luke nodded, smiling as he watched Zac take his first bite. "How is it?" he asked as he took a bite off his cone.

Zac nodded, 'feeding' a little to George.

"We like it..."

Luke nodded. "Good...good....George...now chew with yer mouth closed.." he added with a smile, watching the two of them.

Zac nodded, quietly eating the ice cream along with George, still glancing around the place.

Luke just sat with him watching the little boy eat.

Eventually, Zac and Geroge had had enough to eat, just sitting in the sun shine looking around solmnley.

Luke, too, had finished his cone and now sat looking out at the town. "S'busy today," he remarked.

"Yup....ders lots of people..."

Zac said quietly, noting specifically that everyone had someone...even the dogs with their owners.

"You know...I don't gotta have you back til bedtime...is there somewhere you'd like to go?" asked Luke not really expecting an answer.

Zac shrugged a little, shaking his head. He didn't really know what was in Hazzard...besides his school and the orphanage. The kids didn't go anywhere very often and he and his parents had lived in Chickasaw so he didn't know what Hazzard was like.

"Would you like to walk around...see what Hazzard is like?" offered Luke.

"Kay..." Zac replied softly, sliding out his chair.

Luke nodded, offering his hand to the little boy as he slid out. "You like cars? I could take you over to my friend Cooter...introduce ya...."

Zac nodded a little, just trusting Luke to show him things.

Luke took hold of his little hand, walking him down the streets of Hazzard, entertaining him as they walked, telling stories of how Rosco was always running into fire hydrants, and about the time they all had dressed as Santa Claus and delivered Christmas trees to their friends.

Zac listened with interest, watching Luke as they walked but he didn't once smile. It was as if the ability to smile was foreign to him and he just didn't know how to do it...he did, but the young boy hadn't smiled in so long that he didn't really feel like there was anything to smile about.

Luke didn't notice, or didn't mention it if he did. He just continued story after story, as he showed Zac the sites, eventually walking into Cooter's garage.

"Hey Cooter!"

Cooter jumped at the yell, banging his head on the hood of the car that he had been working underneath. Shaking his head, he took his hat off as he rubbed it, looking over to Luke.

"I sure hope you dont mind payin Doc's bills buddyroe cause if you keep surprisin me like that, i'm gonna need to be with the doc treatin a concussion!" He said good naturedly, patting Luke on the back with a smile. "Who's this?"
