March 30, 200818 yr In "Arrest Jesse Duke" they modify the General to set up higher to go offroad.However it wasn't true 4X4 as in 4 wheel drive it was still 2 wheel drive.
March 31, 200818 yr Welcome to the Hazzardnet Mark. They never had a 4x4 patrol car but in the episode "Twin Trouble" Rosco and Enos used 3-wheelers as their patrol vehicles.

I guess the stuntmen liked tail happy driving rather than a 4 wheel drift in such a short wheelbase SUV.The GL was jacked up with airshocks,and turning up the torsion bars.Cooter said "Airshocks in the back and expanders in the front".Yea,expanders if it had coil springs.That would have been Nova/Malibu "bad guy" territory there.
