Luke swallowed. "What'd ya do?"

"Ernie's son?"

"Who said it?!" Luke demanded.

"Fine," he answered hating the way his daughter could say such hurtful things one minute and show deep concern the next. It was being hypocritical...a trait he detested...especially when he thought himself such a big one.

"You too," said Luke softly as he hung up the phone. "Dang it!" He yelled. he knew that Bo would not take this well.

"Okay Jenni," said Luke sofly his mind elsewhere.

Luke swallowed hard not knowing what Bo was gonna say to this.

Luke swallowed hard shaking his head. "That can't happen...it can't."

"What if...he don't want him?"

"Oh Lord...." said Luke quietly. "Bo...he...he's worked up enough about this...."

"Wh-what?!" he asked in disbelief.

Luke frowned. "What do you mean?"

"News... good news or bad news?"

"Yeah...recon it is....I'm sorry...I don't mean to bother you about it...how are ya?"

"Snot your fault...." returned Luke quckly.

"You want the truth? Lousy..." said matter of factly sitting back on his bed.

Luke sighed. The last thing he wanted to do was talk to Jenni...still, he picked up the phone in his room and said "I got it" to Jaime, waiting for her to hang up before saying "Hey Jenni."

Luke headed back to his room and shut the door. The worst part about Jaime saying that was that it was true...or at least had been true. It hurt him to think that Jaime thought the same thing about him...what kind of father could a womanizer possibly be?!

Luke closed his eyes and sighed, before shakng his head and hobbling off. He'd been called things before...but to have his daughter say that....it was too much.

"You ain't 16 yet! Besides that...having been a 16 year old boy...I know what they's like.."

"Exactly....that ain't old enough!"

His mouth a thin line as he hobbled inside. "No. No! you're too young!"

"B-b-boyfriend?!"

"Glad you know who I am...now how out you tell me who was that?!"

"What in Sam Hill was that?!" demanded Luke. Surprised your cheeks aint bue stead of pink as long as ya went without air..."
