  1. Silence fell upon the sheriff's department as Rosco swallowed the lump in his throat that had since gathered when Jesse sounded worried. "I...um...I'm terribly sorry Jesse...I'll get one out A.S.A.P.."
  2. Rosco sighed again, running a hand down his face. Diggin through papers and files, Rosco pulled out a form and grabbed a pen. "Awwwwright Jesse....who is it?"
  3. At the sheriff's office in town, Rosco was as busy as ever filing papers making little incoherent sounds as he went along. Hearing the phone ringing Rosco let out a frustrating sigh, picking the phone reciever up. "Hazzard County Sheriff's Department, this is Sheriff Roscooooo P. Coltrane speaking."
  4. The kids all trudged their tired feet to the porch and fell down on top of each other, tired. Lori yawned a little as she looked at Luke and Daisy a hand on either one of their shoulders. "M' sorry fellas..." She said sadly. Daisy looked at her and nodded, tears streaking her face. She hugged up to Luke and cried.
  5. Lori sighed as her and Daisy finally came out of the bushes, looking like a walking mess. An arm around Daisy's shoulder comfortingly Lori walked over to Luke, Cooter, and Jesse. "No Luck with us either fellas..." She admitted sadly. Cooter sighed a little and had an arm around Luke's shoulders as well, giving him a gentle reassuring squeeze.
  6. As the hot Hazzard county sun was over head, Lori wiped the sweat from her brows, her jacket wrapped around her waist securely as she headed out of the woods with Daisy. "He ain't here..." Lori whispered to herself, looking down. Shoving her hands in the backs of her jean pockets, Lori waited on Daisy to get two steps in behind her so she could lead the two of them out. Cooter sighed as he too was making his way out of the woods, taking his cap off wiping his forehead. "No use in searchin no more Luke...he ain't there..."
  7. Lori sighed a little, putting her hands on her hips. Walking over to the driveway she picked up huge stones and put them in her pockets, making them bulge out as she walked back. "I shall not go unprepared this time..." She spoke motioning to Daisy with her hand as she walked off towards the woods once more. "C'mon Dais...let's go see what other critters we can rile.." Cooter glared at Lori, as Daisy hung her head following. "Loren!" He scolded to his youngest cousin. Lori looked over her shoulder at him, and rolled her eyes. "I's kiddin' Cooter jeash!" Cooter shook his head, taking his cap off for a second to scratch it. "Sometimes I wonder why I try..." He sighed heavily, walking back towards the woods, himself.
  8. Cooter nodded, agreeing with him. Though, he stood by Luke snickering still at the girls. Lori grumbled at all three of them and climbed down to the lowest branch, Taking Daisy by the arms she lowered her down so she wouldn't have to jump and hurt herself. Lori, on the other hand, stood up on the branch and leaped down right on top of cooter. Smirking she got up and dusted herself off. "I ain't goin back in those danged woods Uncle Jesse...not to get chased by another riled momma skunk again, nu uh no sir, no way..." she shook her head stubbornly.
  9. Lori looked down at the two of them and flung a branch, cracking both of them in top of the head. "You wait Lukas...Cooter...when I get down from here...you're both gonna get it.." she threatened. The skunk looked up at them and sprayed the tree, then, as if it was proud, trotted off right past Cooter, Jesse, and Luke. Daisy looked at Lori who was shooting daggers at Luke and Cooter. She'd help her kill them!
  10. Darting around the corner of the house, looking back only once to see Uncle Jesse's red hunting cap at the tree lines, Lori took hold of Daisy's hand and climbed up the old Oak tre as fast as she could pull Daisy up it, who didn't need much persuasion to climb herself. Almost to the main top, Lori panted and looked down at the skunk throwing branches down at it. "You black and white pussy cat!!! Pick on someone your own size why doncha?!!" Daisy smacked Lori throwing branches herself. "Don't rile it Lori!" Following Luke out of the woods, Cooter stopped, doubling over in laughter. "A skunks got 'em both treed!"
  11. Cooter grumbled lightly at Luke, shaking his head, yelling for Bo. Down around the girl's way, nothing at all was happening. Daisy would yell, then Lori. Sighing, Lori was about to turn around when she seen some branches moving. "Bo??" she yelled, slowly creeping over to the bushes. Daisy followed in behind her, hoping and praying it was Bo. Oh...it was Bo alright. When Lori moved a branch a skunk, with a couple babies around her, whirled around, her tail held high. Lori's eyes was popping out of her head when she let out a blood curdling scream. "Run Daisy run!!!!" Daisy looked at Lori like she was nuts, but looking down in the branches she saw the skunk charge at them. Daisy herself let out a yell and took off at a fast sprint in behind Lori. Panicked female voices could be heard clearly across the back forty and all through the woods as the two headed out of the woods with the skunk close behind, still on the chase. Cooter snapped his head around in the direction in which the girl's screams was coming from. "What has Lori done now..." He questioned more so to himself.
  12. Cooter turned to look at him, letting a branch smack him. "Hey, thats my line!"
  13. Cooter looked at him like he had lost his blooming mind! "You're crazy too!" He said, shaking his head as they entered into the woods, pulling back branches and briars.
  14. Cooter blinked at him, obviously he hadn't lived with her. "Have YOU tried to love her before???"
  15. Cooter raised a brow at Jesse and followed after Luke having to jog a little to keep up. "Grow to love em...heck, you can't love Lori...she's too danged stubborn to let ya..."
  16. Picking herself up off the ground with muttered cusses at Cooter, she nodded to Uncle Jesse and smiled at Daisy. "C'mon Daisy! Let's get a headstart..." Lori said in a rush taking ahold of Daisy's arm, both girls took off in a mad dash across the back forty. Cooter grumbled dusting off some of the dirt from his shirt. "Women..." He muttered under his breath.
  17. Luke and Daisy both nodded to him as their heads shot in the direction down the driveway. "Cooter!!! back off will ya?!!" A familiar female voice shouted as Lori flew down the driveway almost colliding with the towering old man. "Howdy Uncle Jesse! We came to help search with ya this morning... we figured...since it was partly our fault to for not watching Bo we should help..." Cooter came down the driveway holding to his greasy hat, knocking Lori over in an attempt to stop. Daisy watched the two and giggled a little shaking her head, in any situation you could always count on a Davenport to lighten the mood even if they wasn't tyring.
  18. Come morning, Luke was the first of the Dukes to be up and dressed. Parading through the house Luke proceeded to shout.. "Get up get up get up!!!" Daisy, being as sleepy as she was, jerked her head up in hops that Bo had finally come home. Throwing off her covers literally leaping out of the bed, throwing on clothes that didn't really match, Daisy flung open her bedroom door and looked at Luke running out to him, almost knocking him over. "Is it Bo?? Is he back??" She asked, questioningly. Luke looked at her and shook his head slowly. "No Dais...I just wanted everyone up so's we could go and look for him."
  19. Luke nodded to his wise uncle, walking off towards his and Bo's room. "I..I'm not that hungry Uncle Jesse..I think I'll just go to bed..." Hanging his head lower, Luke walked to his and Bo's room opening up the door to the dark room slowly. He looked across the room to Bo's bed and sighed heavily, walking over to it, sitting down on the matress. Taking Bo's pillow in his hand, Luke curled his tiny fingers around it and laid down, staring at the wall. Daisy sighed sadly watching Luke walk away. "I'm not hungry either Uncle Jesse..." She spoke softly.
  20. Luke nodded slowly to his uncle and wiped his running nose. "I'm comin' with ya Uncle Jesse...my fault he's gone anyways..."
  21. Luke nodded, burying his face in his uncle's dirty overalls. Luke had always tried to be strong, being the oldest, but there was some things that he just couldn't help. Sobbing a little, Luke wiped his eyes with the backs of his tiny hands, looking up at his uncle, trying to hold his head up high, his blue eyes losing what little twinkle they had in them. Daisy looked around at Luke from where she stood at beside her uncle. Giving the young boy a soft smile, she moved around her uncle and hugged Luke to her, laying her head on his chest. "It'll be ok Luke..." She tried to assure him. Luke only let out a small soft sigh and nodded.
  22. Luke already felt bad enough as he nodded slowly, his head still hung low. His words coming in sobs. "I...I know sir...and I was watchin' him... it was just one minute he was there and the next he was gone.." Luke felt bad, he felt low. This was his baby cousin, his brother, that he let wander off. Now, thanks to his carelessness, his baby cousin might just be gone forever..
  23. Daisy clung to her uncle for dear life, shedding one tear after another. "Uncle Jesse! Bo wanted to play cowboys and idians...alls me and Lori and Cooter did was attack 'em and Bo ran and hid behind a bush...and that was all! he disappeared into thin air!" She cried out, upset and hurt. Luke nodded, looking down, ashamed. "I...I'm sorry sir..I know I was s'pose to watch him...All's I figured was if I played the game with him, he'd get all tuckered out and wanna come take a nap..then I coulda started on my chores...I..I didn't know he was gonna run off." Luke held his hands in front of him, his head hung low.
  24. Cursing under her breath, Lori watched the two Duke cousins, Daisy in tears as she flew to her Uncle Jesse. Swallowing a little, she hugged Luke, blinking the tears from her own eyes away. "We'll see ya tomorrow Luke..." Lori said softly as she looked at Cooter, sighing shakily. "C'mon cousin...we need ta head home..." Cooter nodded, patting Luke's shoulder one more time, before turning to leave to get a head start on walking home.
  25. Meeting the two of them at the tree lines, Lori and Daisy looked at them, the hope in their eyes quickly dying. "No luck either?" Lori asked, rather choked up. She knew that Bo was more a brother to Luke, and heck he was like a little brother to her as well, to them all. He was the baby of the family and everyone watched out for him. "None at all..." Cooter spoke, shaking his head. Putting a reassuring hand on Luke's back he patted him softly. "Be ok buddy-roe..maybe...maybe he's already at the table waiting on us." Cooter spoke softly, reassuring him.
