  1. Jesse just stood holding Luke close, willing to do so for as long as Luke needed even though he knew he should really be telling Luke to go out and get whatever it was he needed, to start searching. He couldn't help though but relish this side of Luke, to nurture it more so that what was coming for him wouldn't be such a struggle to deal with, wouldn't be so awkward...although his track record showed he didn't have such a problem with intimacy with the ladies...it was more the commitment.
  2. "You will son..." Jesse reassured gently, resting a hand on the back of Luke's head softly. As much as he loved that Luke was growing up and starting to test deeper waters more and more, another part of him wished he would just stay his little boy forever, that all three of his kids would. He knew it wasn't possible of course but he treasured these moments when it seemed like the kids still needed him and his guidance. He dreaded the day when they would all everntually spread their wings and leave the farm behind...but then again he couldn't wait. He wanted to be around to see what his kids could achieve, meet the families he had no doubt all three would raise....whether that would be a reality would be down to them.
  3. "Its taken you a while but you realize what you want now son...I know I's always said some things about you two boys havin a family but I never meant em...if anyone was t'take a wife I woulda bet this farm that it woulda been you son...Bo may be the more open with his feelin's...but you got a love to share that you aint let loose so much yet...I know you will when you find the right person though...I know it son..." Jesse said softly as though reading his mind, rocking him softly as he used to do when Luke was just a small boy.
  4. Jesse smiled gently, rubbing his back as he wrapped his arms around his eldest. For too long Luke had kept himself further away from the more physical side of affection from his family, only accepting a hug from Bo when it was really needed and this was even rarer in public. He was glad to finally see Luke ask for affection, even if he didn't come out and say her wanted it. "It'll be ok son....you won't be lonely very long now you know what your looking for..."
  5. Jesse took the photo carefully in his hand, smiling a little at his wife who had her arms wrapped so lovingly round the two squirming, smiling little boys. Luke had never been the more cuddly of the two but when he was younger he would seek out a hug from his Auntie just as willingly as Bo. After she left, Luke lost that and lost it even further when he joined the Marine Corps. Now however, it appeared Luke was starting to want that feeling back again, to love someone like he loved his Auntie...or maybe even more so. He was lonely in the sense he didn't really have a closeness to anyone besides his family...Luke was growing up into the next stage of adulthood...Luke wanted the love of someone outside the 4 of them. Nodding a little, he looked back up at his eldest before standing up and opening his arms to him.
  6. "Lonely?" He answered with a pretend hint of confusion that sounded real, glad that he still knew his boys well enough to figure out what was wrong with them before they actually told him. "What d'you mean?"
  7. Jesse looked up from where he was sitting reading his paper, studying Luke a little before answering in just as gentle and caring a tone. "Yes son?"
  8. Bo climbed in too and started the powerful engine, stepping on the gas a few times to hear the engine growl before heading out the farm and to the Boar's Nest. Hr had a small hope that if he and Daisy were away, Luke would take the time to talk to Jesse.
  9. "C'mon then...you got work soon aintcha? I'll drive ya in the General...he needs a chance t'stretch his legs out some...we aint been able ta fer a while." Bo said with a grin, but still rubbing his big sisters back comfortingly.
  10. Bo sighed gently and hugged Daisy a little more before letting her go. "Like Uncle Jesse said though,we gotta let him work through this on his own till he asks us for help...we can't know what the problem is till he does. If Uncle Jesse ain't so worried about him then we ain't got a reason to be either...we just gotta trust in Luke he'll ask for help eventually."
  11. "Not happy either...I know what ya mean..." Bo replied understandingly.
  12. Bo nodded, kissing the top of her head gently with a small sigh. It was hard watching Luke be like he was...he wasn't exactly unhappy...he just...wasn't as happy as he should have been.
  13. "Yeah..." Bo replied softly back, putting an arm gently round her shoulders as he looked to the barn as well. "Actually smiling like he had something to smile for...not just cause he had to..."
  14. "Awww Dais c'mon....leave him alone. Don't you think he's got enough on his plate right now...when he was doin it he actually had a smile on his face that I ain't seen for weeks...can't you just let it slide this once?" Bo said seriously, climbing down from the tree despite the frying pan still in Daisy's hand.
  15. Bo laughed and shook his head. "Did you really think I'd be able to catch that many crickets? He was the only one ever to be able to actually catch them...i've always been useless at it. Frogs were more my specialty."
  16. "Actually that was Luke...was one of the rare times he actually paid attention to anythin'...course he had been drinkin a bit before then.." Bo suddenly mused.
  17. Bo sighed and shook his head mockingly, saying with an obviously fake sad face. "You know I pity you Daisy....yer so immature...you haven't learnt how t'deal with adults the adult way yet...its such a shame..."
  18. Bo rolled his eyes a little. "You know if you put starch in my undershorts i'll just wash em again...I am capable of doin my own washin."
  19. Bo laughed as he ran from Daisy and her frying pan, jumping to catch the lower branch of the tree and hauling himself up, climbing quickly.
  20. "Who said anything bout yer hair?" Bo said with a grin before wiping the hand full of soap bubbles down her face and darting out the kitchen door to outside.
  21. Bo put his hands on his hips. "Now that ain't fair, I would feed ya but you keep sayin yer afraid of gettin poisioned!"
  22. Bo scowled and wiped his head clean of the dirty water. "Thanks a lot traitor, we's the boys of the family, we's supposed to support each other!"
  23. Jesse left him to muse over that, giving a breif scolding to Daisy as she spattered Bo with the water from the sink before going to the lounge and sinking in his chair to read the paper.
