"It is to Troy...he wants me to save him.." Bo muttered miserably.

Bo stood up and paced over to the window, leaning on the window ledge with his head hung, having no idea what on earth to do.

"I can't Luke! I can't tell him the truth because he'll run off again! I don't want him to keep getting sicker!" Bo exclaimed, getting more and more upset.

"No but what am I supposed to tell him?! That I don't want him?! After his mum left him an' he ain't had no dad because that guy ran off too..." Bo shook his head, putting it in his hands.

Bo sighed "I like him Luke...but...I can't adopt him..."

Jesse nodded a little, still not understanding but figuring he would come to once they boys had talked. Bo sighed and shook his head, running a hand through his hair before looking to Luke. "I;m way too deep into this thing Luke...first he asked me if he was gonna die...then he asked me if I would adopt him...course I didn't know what the hell..." Bo winced at the look Jesse gave him, mumbling an apology before continuing. "Didn't know what to say....I had to promise him i'd come back tomorrow afternoon to see him to get him to go to sleep!"

Bo nodded again gently, looking back down at the floor as he shook his head, not saying a word as - just when he had been in the room with Troy before - he didn't know what to say. Jesse frowned and looked to Luke. "Troy who?"

Bo sank down onto his bed and looked over at Luke and Jesse, shaking his head a little.

Jesse smiled and kissed his forehead softly, about to stand up when Bo stumbled through the door, obviously deeply troubled by something.

Jesse smiled a little, knowing how Luke liked to get everything right without even trying...he had had to in the marines... "Now...get some rest son..."

"Now now Luke...you ain't stupid...you're just a little outta your depth that's all.." Jesse gently chided. "You can't be good at somethin' without practise..you an' Jaime just gotta work with each other..."

Sighing, Jesse softly rubbed Luke's arm. "Your doin' a fine job with her Luke.."

Jesse nodded in understanding, sympathetic. "Parenthood is a challenge even when they're only little babies...taking one on as a teenager is harder...I warned you it wouldn't all be plain sailing..."

Jesse watched his oldest out the corner of his eye, pleased to see that Luke was starting to feel the effects of the painkillers. "You better rest up some more...you look wore out..."

Jesse shook his head. "Sometimes it ain't neccisarily what ya say that helps a situation...sometimes you just gotta try and make people see what yer sayin' is true then let them see for themselves...actions have always spoke louder than words..."

Jesse frowned a little, shaking his head. "I don't think I ever did...it wasn't until Bo actually came to stay that you found what you were thinkin' was completly wrong..."

Jesse sighed gently and squeezed Luke's shoulders a little. He knew that Luke still had insecurities about where he stood in the family...but most of those were whether or not he would be good enough to take over once Jesse had gone.

Jesse sighed softly, slipping an arm around Luke's shoulders. "Took me near a week to convince ya otherwise..."

Jesse nodded softly, looking to him. "You were the first one ta arrive at the farm...we had ya fer about a year...before Bo then came along...and at first you couldn't wait..then Hughie Hogg said somethin' ta ya at school that changed yer mind right quick...an' then you was givin' me the cold shoulder until I made ya tell me what was goin on...you said you was scared that I would love Bo more than ya...that you would be turned out an' be sent to live at the orphanage..."

Jesse nodded with a smile. "Went through the same thing with you..."

Jesse raised an eyebrow a little before realization dawned on him with a small smile. "Oh...let me guess...she doesn't want you to because she's worried you'll love your date more than her and she'll be shunned out with no one else to go to..."

Jesse nodded gently, sitting back against the headboard. "You wanna share the problem?"

Jesse sighed softly and gently ran a hand through Luke's hair. "Did ya get everythin' sorted with Jaime?"

Jesse nodded gently as Luke took them and sipped down the water Jesse offered him. "There we go...those should start workin' soon enough..."

Jesse carefully sat down next to Luke and helped him to sit up a little, handing him the pills as he supported Luke's head. "Here take these...it'll dulll the pain.."
